Terrible experience! After having some trouble getting a Sat. appt. online, I decided to try the Express Lane service. I brought my 2019 Jeep Cherokee to the dealershi After having some trouble getting a Sat. appt. online, I decided to try the Express Lane service. I brought my 2019 Jeep Cherokee to the dealership on 2/4/23 and arrived around noon for an oil change, tire rotation and multi-point inspection. The service advisor asked me twice if I had an appointment. I explained that I was there for Express Lane service. Another employee told my advisor that they should be able to get my service completed. The service advisor told me it would be 2-3 hours so I got a ride home. The advisor called me around 1:45pm to tell me that my car was ready to be picked up. When I arrived, I saw my keys sitting on top of a printed invoice on the counter and noticed some highlighting. One item said "rear differential is cracked and blown. can lock up rear end while driving rec replacing asap." The second item said "oil cooler leaning oil recommend replacing asap." Next to both of these items, the reason denied said "customer will have work performed later". I am not familiar with auto mechanics and was never asked about whether or not I wanted to make these repairs before looking at the final invoice so I asked the advisor about these items. She explained that " bad things could happen" if the rear differential gave way" and that while they didn't see any oil leaking yet, the cooler should be replaced before it started to. I paid for my oil change and tire rotation and went home. I ran a few short errands on Sun. and drove 22 miles to work public school special educator on Mon. My boyfriend talked to the automotive teacher at the technical high school where he works that day. I learned that I shouldn't be driving the vehicle, as I could lose my entire rear end or have my engine seize up. I headed directly back home and to a local service station next to my house (as First's service department was already closed). The mechanic looked at my car, agreed that the differential was cracked and said the car shouldn't be driven. Upon checking the engine compartment, he found that the dipstick wasn't registering any oil and that the area around my oil filter was completely surrounded by a nest. He cleaned a large amount of debris out from around the oil filter and ended up finding only 2.5 L of thick black oil in my car as well as a filthy dirty oil filter. He changed my oil and oil filter the next day. I returned to the dealership Tuesday night around 4:45 to express my concerns--both that I hadn't been told that the vehicle shouldn't be driven and about the nest/debris that had been found. I was told that they'd refund me the cost of my oil change and would let the service manager know about what had happened but that I'd have to come back on Wed. morning because he was the only one that could issue the refund and he had gone home for the day. On Wed. morning I arrived and asked to speak to the service manager. When I was introduced to him, I asked if he had been advised about what had happened with my car. He very sarcastically replied, "Oh, yeah..." After I sat down, he said, "What can I do for you?" As I explained everything, he became very argumentative. He told me that his service advisors told him I'd come in the previous night before admitting that I'd known the car shouldn't have been driven...told me that my warranty was out of date. I asked if there were any recalls on the differential. He just said no. When I addressed the concerns about the lack of oil in the car and the nest around my oil filter AND showed him my videos, he not only insisted that the oil had been changed but that the part with debris around it was my air filter and not the oil filter. After he continued to insist this, he said, "I hear you want your oil change refunded. I'll do that so you don't have to come back..." I couldn't believe he'd said this and told him so. He continued to argue that the debris was from my air filter and not my oil filter. Finally I just told him to refund me for the oil change and left. Very dissatisfied. Wish I could give a 0 star rating. More
