First time dealer purchase here. I went in to the dealership with an expectation that I would be there for a while and the process would be an ordeal. I’m happy to say I was wrong, I I went in to the dealership with an expectation that I would be there for a while and the process would be an ordeal. I’m happy to say I was wrong, I had a great experience thanks to Tommy! He was very professional, laid back and down to earth. He was very knowledgeable and vigilant. If I had any questions he was available via phone or text, response times were fast. Thanks again Tommy for a putting me in my new truck and for changing my perception of dealership purchases from something negative to something I wouldn’t hesitate to do again! More

We all have seen the commercial where the owner of Findlay says i will do anything to sell you a car. I believe him, but did not realize that being misled about the parameters of my negotiated deal w Findlay says i will do anything to sell you a car. I believe him, but did not realize that being misled about the parameters of my negotiated deal was part of that equation. I am sure many people have had a great experience buying from this dealership. I was not one of them. I looked at a few cars and decided on a used car. We started to negotiate on the purchase. Used cars have an interest rate of 5.4% which was what they quoted me. I laughed and said no chance. They came back at 3.99% after i said 2%. They came back at 2.99% and I agreed as it was a good rate and one that I could live with. My credit score is over 800 so i was not worried about being approved and no issues with debt levels. Our last two cars we paid cash for so this was our first car loan. I initial the paperwork and we shake hands on the deal. I go into the room to sign the finance paperwork and I purchase a few additional warranties. (extended, oil changes, tire protection). I am told the monthly payment but not the interest rate. Since i knew the payment would go up I was expecting a new number. My first bill comes and the interest rate is 5.4%. I make the payment as it was due and contact the finance manager who did my loan. We have been texting back and forth for the last two weeks. I explained the issue and he confirmed everything i said. I have no reason to lie. I was told the sales person can not negotiate the interest rate. the sales person and whoever is in the office he went to, negotiated with me 2-3 times as I recall. I told him I never would have been in that room without knowing the rate. Even so, this is your mistake as I have it signed on the worksheet that this is what was agreed to. Price, Interst Rate, Length of loan and Trade In. I have a picture of it and they also had it and confirmed the numbers I had told them. I was told they will get back to me. A week goes by and nothing, so I text the person for an update. He says he can go to a credit union and see about getting me a rate of 2.94% I am fine with it. 5 days later he texts me I was declined. But he would follow up. I asked if there is anything else that can be done as this was their mistake. He would talk to the GM but he wont be in the office till the next day. Nothing the next day, so I text the following day. I am told nothing can be done, but if it was earlier on or in the first month maybe something could have been done. I ask for other options, and they say I can trade the car in for another car and get the better rate. So a company that does over $50M a year in sales (minimum), can't do anythig on a mistake they made, that has a value of $2,000. If you decide to buy a car at this dealership, I would highly recommend to double check everything and dont trust them on anything. Double check each page of the paperwork that they have you turbo sign in the offices. If a mistake is made based on my experience you are most likely going to end up very frustrated. This experience for me confirmed how most people feel about car sales people. Just a really bad experience. At least if i see the commercial I can fast forward it and not listen to those empty words.
