This is the history to back my previous review. In November of 2020 the car I owned had the engine block cracked in the course of a simple repair. I took a cab to Findlay Honda with the goal of bu In November of 2020 the car I owned had the engine block cracked in the course of a simple repair. I took a cab to Findlay Honda with the goal of buying a car that very same day. I was stressed because I needed a car to get to work. I explained this to the salesman. I admit I was stressed and, in a hurry, and did not think to look in the paperwork I signed for anything added on I didn't ask for or need. They added a Eckbond limited warranty registration to the paperwork. I did sign it, and the only thing I remember being mentioned was that my interior would be protected. Since then having looked at the contract I see it states that "This is a Limited Product Warranty that requires the product to be applied to my vehicle and is not insurance." I was never made aware of anything being applied to my interior, or that I need to make an appointment to have it applied, or anything. At no time was it clearly stated that I was buying, for $1179.00 an applied product to protect my interior. Also, it states in the contract that "the customer must regularly inspect the vehicle and maintain the vehicle as recommended by the manufacturer." I was never given any manufacturer recommended maintenance instructions, nor do I know if the product was ever applied? Also, I was sold a warranty I thought was 8 years, it was for less than 4 years for $5000.00. The car's transmission was bad from the start. When it got real bad I checked the Carfax, suspiciously to me it showed no service completed. Findlay was able to show me a service being done one their in-house computer, never showed on a Carfax though. It didn't matter because my warranty had expired by this time. I chose to trade the car in for something else. Then they sold me a car with broken AC. I was told by a reliable source that dealerships put cars through a 110 pt. inspection before being put up for sale so I am confident they knew the AC was broken. I wonder why they promote their service department to no end, but don't use it to fix the cars they put up for sale. I was given a handshake and a promise to make it right. However, once the full problem was revealed they said it had been too long, and they wouldn't honor their word and handshake. I guess Findlay Honda's word and handshake have an expiration date. After visiting other mechanics, I was informed repairs would be in the thousands. I was angry and remembered that Findlay Honda invited me to review their company, so as to not feel completely like the dead mouse the cat is playing with I wrote the statement part of this review without all the history of my experience with Findlay Honda, fully intending to fill in the history later. But the Operations Manager from Findlay Honda contacted me and seemed interested in making the situation right. She had the General Sales Manager and Service Manager call me. The General Sales Manager told me they would try to help me, but went out of his way to tell me he won't promise to fix the car, I wonder if that is the same message they tell people at their Service Department? Fixing the car is my only interest. This all happened on a Saturday, the Service Manager set an appointment to do diagnostics on the car for the following Tuesday. I asked him to call my second mechanic for his input because he was certain he knew the fix, and I believed him. The Service Manager said he would call him on Monday, he didn't. So I finally insisted he talk to my mechanic before I bring in the car. He finally did and the appointment was rescheduled for Thursday. Before the appointment I told the Service Manager that the car did not need to be diagnosed again, it had been done three times already, and my mechanic head given him the fix. After his diagnosis he determined that my mechanic was right. So if they had listened to my mechanic and done the fix instead of an additional diagnosis my car AC would be working now. It isn't More
Took car in for suggested service, Brake fluid exchange and rear brake pad replacement and rotor turning. Made appointment with Carlos, dropped Honda Pilot at the scheduled time, told it would be done by 1 and rear brake pad replacement and rotor turning. Made appointment with Carlos, dropped Honda Pilot at the scheduled time, told it would be done by 10:30 am, service completed by 10 am. Very pleased with Findlay Honda and the service consultant Carlos. They always exceed my expectations. Carlos is well versed in the mechanics of cars and is very good at explaining need for the particular service, he is polite, professional, and courteous! I recommend Findlay Honda for service and Carlos as a consultant. More
