Never have written a negative review in my life— I don’t necessarily believe in them, but this is a special time. Found FCDJR online, I’m new to Northern Ohio. Moved here for graduate school after a mil necessarily believe in them, but this is a special time. Found FCDJR online, I’m new to Northern Ohio. Moved here for graduate school after a military deployment. FCDJR had two used trucks in stock I liked, called and made an appointment to come see them last Monday. Drove to Findlay from North Toledo, arrived at the dealership, but they didn’t even have my name down for an appointment. Once we got that straightened out, they told me that the two trucks I “had an appointment for” were sold. Okay, great, wasted trip. Ended up walking around the lot, found a Dodge Ram that I liked. Ended up buying it (CASH— I handed this organization $18,400 CASH THAT DAY) and went home. (Not a flex— just showing that I was a model customer and was super easy to deal with) AS SOON as I parked it and got out, I noticed a HUGE power steering leak. Crawled underneath to discover a damaged rack and pinion. Now, I bought it As-Is, and I understand that. However, FCDJR told me that their MECHANIC checked the truck out, and that it was good to go. I don’t consider a busted rack and pinion good to go. So, I called FCDJR, told them the issue, and they said they might be able to cut a deal for repair. At first they offered $700, and I explained that I felt that part cost alone is fair, due to FCDJR making a false material statement about the truck. A few hours later, Doug, the Used Cars Manager, called me and offered $500. I said hey, that’s great, I appreciate it. I’m glad we didn’t have to go through arbitration or the courts (As a law student, this is a great compliment to receive) DOUG IMMEDIATELY cut me off, said “If you’re going to threaten me with that, we’re not having this conversation, the offers off the table and I won’t do a xxxx thing for you” (that’s a close paraphrase, but he did cuss at me, and did revoke an offer based on my intended compliment) and HUNG UP ON ME. I tried to call Doug directly back, he declined my calls (it rung once and went straight to voicemail). I was in shock. In what universe is it acceptable for a MANAGER of any sort to cuss at, and hang up on a customer? Called the main dealership, asked to speak to someone in management, told him (Jake, maybe? Tyler, possibly?) the issue, he said he would return my call. He called me back, said that Doug and I had an “altercation” (I reckon a phone conversation in which I complimented Doug on being fair is an altercation?) and that the deal was off. I asked him if it was common practice for MANAGERS to cuss at customers and hang up on them, and he shrugged it off. He said that if I wanted to pay the $700 there would be no hard feelings. Keep in mind, this dealership offered $500 moments before. But “no hard feelings” if I paid them $700 after being cussed at and hung up on by a manager. In sum, this dealership didn’t reserve my appointment, sold two trucks that I verbally requested and received confirmation that I had an appointment, sold a MATERIALLY DEFECTIVE vehicle and failed to disclose a mechanical failure and made material misrepresentation about the vehicle, when confronted about the issue, I received some bouncing-around, and was ultimately cussed at, hung up, and treated with utmost disrespect. I have received better customer service and felt more welcomed at McDonalds. I do not recommend FCDJR to anyone under any circumstance. More
