My wife and I ordered a 2023 Jeep Gladiator at Dolan’s in Fernley. That experience didn’t go well. I thought we were joining the family, but instead, we were cheated, and browbeaten. On August 12th, 2023, my wife and I went to the dealership with the intention of buying the Jeep. The sales manager Ms. Loveless-Neamo presented an offer that included several options totaling over $12,000. I told her we were not interested in any of the options presented and that we only want to purchase the Jeep as it currently is. Loveless-Neamo then went into a seemingly long sales pitch on why we needed these items. I repeatedly told her we did not want any of the additional options presented. Finally, she relented, at which time the finance manager Ms. Grace Mitchell continued the same sales pitch. Again, I repeatedly said we were not interested in buying any of the items offered. Finally, I told her the high-pressure sales pitches we have been getting are making me very uncomfortable. Then I said, “No! period” in a firm voice. I told Mitchell we would be paying cash. Mitchell then started giving us forms to review and sign. Mitchell explained what each of the forms were and told us where to sign. We were trusting and followed her lead. We would later learn that some of her explanations were lacking in content. While waiting for our Jeep, I looked over the sales contract and noticed an item, Stargard which cost $699. Not knowing what Stargard was, I looked it up using my smartphone. After determining that it was one of the options that I had repeatedly stated we did not want, I asked why it was on the sales contract. Either Loveless-Neamo or Mitchell stated that everyone who buys from Dolan’s buys Stargard. I doubt that very much. I couldn’t believe Mitchell had slipped this in. Later, I reviewed the paperwork, and realized that of the 19 pages we were given to process and sign, 14 pages were for financing a purchase. We paid cash, so those 14 pages were unnecessary to our transaction. I believe Mitchell used these unnecessary forms to overwhelm us with paperwork so she could slip the Stargard option into our contract. To add to the dishonesty, I received a text message congratulating us on our purchase and it referred us to a website. On the website, there was a form to be filled out by the buyer. We had never seen this form before and it was already filled out and my signature was forged on it along with a fake email address. The form titled, “Vehicle Delivery Confirmation (to be completed by customer)” listed seven things that were to be done when delivering the car. Each of the seven had a box preceding it and the boxes were checked as if it had been done. Of the seven, two were done. That is the Jeep was clean and had no visible damage and it came with a full tank of gas. What didn’t happen, was “My connected services benefits were explained to me.” “My vehicle features and how they operate were explained to me.” “My salesperson helped me setup key features.” “I was introduced to the service department.” Then it asked, how likely are you to recommend this dealership? “Extremely likely” was circled. These were followed by my forged signature and the fake email address. The sales representative we used; Ms. Stephanie Marini’s name was on the form. As a side note: I was very concerned about the culture of dishonesty we had encountered and attempted to take my concerns to someone in the upper levels of the Dolan organization. I found Dolan management to be well insulated from us customers. In other words, I had no luck in contacting anyone outside the Fernley dealership. I’ve purchased many cars from various dealerships in my life, and I’m sure there were occasions where I paid more than I could have for the vehicle, but I’ve never been so blatantly cheated as I was at Dolan’s in Fernley. I had warranty work done on my car, and they got me in faster than any other dealer in town and out of town for that matter. I was kept informed every step of the way and the work was done was exceptional faster than any other dealer in town and out of town for that matter. Bought our first new Jeep from Dolan Fernley in 2018 because we were following a trusted salesman. Bought a second one in Nov 2022 and the third one in April 2023. Nadia and Dawn were great to work with because we were following a trusted salesman. Bought a second one in Nov 2022 and the third one in April 2023.
