Inexperienced technician and miss lead. Brought my van in for an oil change and warranty repair. I was mislead on what type of oil was going to be used and the service personal seemed not t Brought my van in for an oil change and warranty repair. I was mislead on what type of oil was going to be used and the service personal seemed not to know what kind of oil the service personnel was going to but in. Warranty repair for nonfunctioning 12Vdc receptacle. The technician came out and inquired about the problem I was having with the receptacle. I explained the receptacle didn't work and I found a blown fuse. I replaced the fuse and the receptacle still didn't work. The technician left and a little while later the tech came back and said he couldn't find anything wrong. I was bewildered, because I know it didn't work and said ok thanks. When I got home and tested the jack it still didn't work. Instead of wasting more time going back to the dealer I was going to fix the jack myself. I pulled off the plug on the back of the DC jack and found the jack was miss wired from the factory. I corrected the problem and now the DC jack works. Very disappointed with competence of the technician. Maybe he was new... More
Service department - Not Good I will not be going back. Request was to do a check of the car and let me know what was wrong, well the Service Air Bag light that was on and it was I will not be going back. Request was to do a check of the car and let me know what was wrong, well the Service Air Bag light that was on and it was still on when I picked the car up. they let me leave with a safety issues like that? they did replace a battery for $228 according to bill $79.95 parts so that means $148 for labor?? To replace a battery?? they also charged me $45 to tell ma a sensor was bad. Well the information center on my dashboard told me the same thing. This place just does not do the job! More
Service department is horrible! I purchased new Michelin tires from them at 68,000 miles and have had to return to them because the tires wouldn't hold air. I told the salesman I had an appointment in Detroit at 10 and needed the car back by 9:15. I'm still in the waiting room and it's after 9:30. Your service tech was very accommodating but almost 2 hours for an oil change is unacceptable. I won't be back!! More

I took my truck here to get accident damage taken care of. They fixed the original dent but damaged another part of my vehicle. When I confronted them they passed me to a manager that was no help and told of. They fixed the original dent but damaged another part of my vehicle. I was horribly treated and it took well over a week to even get a call back about anything. I would not go to this half rate shop. There are plenty of other qualified shops in the area. More
The folks at the Liberty Chevrolet service department go out of their way to be helpful, friendly, and courteous. They've been efficient at fixing any problem I have come in with, and their prices are very out of their way to be helpful, friendly, and courteous. I think this dealership provides outstanding customer service. I got a next-day appointment and was able to drop the car off the night before. When I went to pick up the car, I was greeted immediately and a new gentleman (I forget his name) was very pleasant and walked me to the cashier to check out. The car porter was friendly as well, and apologized for not cleaning the car better, but he did not want me to wait too long. I think that would be my only negative comment. I think they should wash the care immediately after the car has been repaired. Each time I have picked up my car, I have had to wait 10-15 minutes just to get the car cleaned...but I am happy they clean it. More
I purchased a 2011 Malibu from Liberty Chevrolet on June 23. Between 400 and 900 miles on the vehicle I had four instances of steering wheel vibration. The intensity and duration of the vibration increased each time. I took the car to Liberty Chevrolet Service on July 11. Approximately two hours after checking my car in for service, the service person told me there was nothing wrong with my car. I told him there was indeed something wrong with the car. He told me I was probably just feeling the vibration from Michigan's rough roads. I explained that the Oldsmobile Alero the Malibu replaced had 259,235 miles on it, this was not normal and was certainly not rough roads. He insisted there was nothing wrong with the car. I asked to speak to his supervisor who then instructed the young man to have another technician look at the car. After another two hour wait, I was again told here was nothing wrong with the car. I insisted that was indeed something wrong, explained that I did not feel safe driving a car that clearly had something wrong with the steering, and even asked the young man if I was his grandmother would he tell me the car was perfectly safe. He said yes and gave me my keys. I drove around to the sales area, confronted my salesman with the problem. He talked to someone, came back and told me the car was perfectly safe, there was nothing wrong with it and if I had further problems I should just call on star for a tow. I reluctantly left and approximately 250 miles later the steering wheel started pulling violently to the left. I was on the west side of the state. I had the car towed to Meyer Chevrolet in New Era, MI They gave me a loaner vehicle, contacted GM, and discovered that GM was having problems with the motor that controlled the steering on this car and that the motor should be replaced. I believe that the time Meyer Chevrolet spent contacting GM represented a fraction of the time Liberty Chevrolet spent telling me there was nothing wrong with my car. Meyer Chevrolet, a small town car dealer, understood the concept of customer service and went the extra mile to make inquiries about possible problems with this new vehicle. Liberty did not. I will not be returning to Liberty for service. I will go to Meyer when I am on that side of the state. I have heard that GM has recently recalled thousands of these Malibus for the problem I was having. More
