I had taken my car in for a minor incident with the door and also needed some magnets removed. After contacting my salesman, Jim Turner, he put me in touch with Dave Palumbo and Jim Rives. They were helpful and courteous in dealing with both of my issues. They had both problems fixed in a timely manner. I would highly recommend this dealership and the entire staff. More
Jackie Coogan was awesome to work with. I'll be sure to send any friends looking to buy a Subaru his way! He knew the cars inside and out, and really worked with us to get the price right down to where we send any friends looking to buy a Subaru his way! He knew the cars inside and out, and really worked with us to get the price right down to where we wanted it. This was my first time to buy a car and I'm so glad I went to Farrish and was able to work with Jackie. Great customer service! Great experience! Thanks, Jackie! More
We are a military family so I contacted this dealership as part of the USAA Buying Service. I must make it clear that our experience with Jackie Coogan was EXCELLENT. My experience with Jason Baker and Rog as part of the USAA Buying Service. I must make it clear that our experience with Jackie Coogan was EXCELLENT. My experience with Jason Baker and Roger Holt, however, has made me regret not going to my initial dealership choice which was Stohlman Subaru. I contacted and spoke with both Jason and Roger after the car had already been purchased. The way I was treated was inexcusable! Jason spoke to me as if I was totally wrong, insisting that a USAA Certificate did not exist even though I had the certificate right in front of me! I was taken aback but not completely surprised since my husband and son did inform me that Jason's "people skills" leave a lot to be desired. I then spoke with Roger Holt who is listed as the point of contact on the USAA certificate. Not only did he address me in a condescending manner cutting me off mid-sentence, but claimed he knew nothing of the program. I will grant them the benefit of the doubt that perhaps I am the first person who used this program. That being said, never should a customer (especially one that just purchased a new car) be treated with anything less than RESPECT. If it wasn't for the EXCELLENT experience we had with Jackie Coogan, I would have rated my overall experience very bad instead of bad. If you want a customer for life, you have to treat them well even AFTER the sale! More
The staff of Farrish Subaru were all interested in educating me about their product instead of selling me a car. I instantly felt comfortable with the staff and appreciated that they where listening t educating me about their product instead of selling me a car. I instantly felt comfortable with the staff and appreciated that they where listening to my needs to point me towards the right vehicle. The friendly and informative Rick Elinski was able to show me the value of the Subaru Outback and how it suited my outdoor lifestyle. I started out my shopping process with a tour the local motor mile looking for a car or truck that would be a good commuter and could still carry four adults along with our bikes and gear. I narrowed down the selection to two trucks and two wagons, all from different dealers. This exposed me to several vehicles, personalities, environments, and tactics. I am glad that the right car for me was also at the dealer with the right staff. Farrish Subaru, and Rick in particular, made for a pleasant experience that got me on the road in a great car. More
James Turner is an excellent salesman. He is very knowledgeable of the Subaru we purchased and was very pleasant to deal with. The financial person was excellent as well. On a Friday, my husband had a small accident with our 18 year old Jeep. The following morning in our home, he broke his hip. So I was faced with making a car purchase fast and on my own. Because we had year old Jeep. The following morning in our home, he broke his hip. So I was faced with making a car purchase fast and on my own. Because we had dealt happily with Farrish Jeep for 18 years, I went back to Farrish for our Subaru. James Turner was excellent with discussing my options, the financing, and what I might expect from the car and from Farrish. When I returned with the Jeep, the new car was ready to drive and the paperwork was almost complete. The entire staff was helpful, but I especially appreciated the care and consideration extended to me by James Turner. In a bad week, it was a very pleasant and positive experience. I would definitely recommend the dealership and James Turner. And lastly, I am totally enjoying driving the Subaru. I had wondered how happy I would be with the lower car after sitting a bit higher for 18 years. I couldn't be happier. Ellen Casey, Washington, DC More
Both salesmen were courteous, helpful, and sincere. For whatever question I raised, they provided good answers. Roger was gracious enough to let Rick deliver the car to my house which was much appreciated. whatever question I raised, they provided good answers. I had called on a Friday, regarding a 2002 WRX wagon for sale I found on their website for sale. I had spent a while looking for a realistically priced, good condition 02/03 WRX in my MD/PA/DE area. I was sale I found on their website for sale. I had spent a while looking for a realistically priced, good condition 02/03 WRX in my MD/PA/DE area. I was ready to buy the wagon if it checked out okay, as I brought my mechanic friend with me to verify this (and I'm well versed in Subaru but i can't see everything!) After driving through a lot of traffic, we arrived a little before 5pm (dealership closes at 7) and were stopped by Rick. He was a fast talker and slightly condescending (I'm female). We checked the vehicle over, and I was annoyed he started it without me asking. My friend found a leaking CV joint boot and the tires were severely dry rotted (vertical cracks all along the sidewalls), and the rear calipers and rotors looked at least 6 yrs old (lots of corrosion). That being said, I was okay with the car's overall condition and figured those could be bargaining tools after the test drive. The test drive consisted of an amazing 25mph tour of the neighborhood behind the dealership. I asked if any 40-50mph roads were around for me to drive on so i could see if the car had vibrating/etc at speed. I was told there was not due to traffic constraints and that we 'would get stuck.' After some parking lot maneuvers, the grease from the cv joint boot was dripping onto the exhaust and the car reeked of burning grease. We sat down with Rick afterwards and I made an offer due to the repairs I would have to make out of my own pocket. I also had a NADA value print out (which was only $500 less than their asking price) and a Autocheck report that revealed an accident in its first 7 months of existence. It was professionally repaired but I wanted to point out the car wasn't "mint". He refused to look at my papers and went on and on about the Carfax being clean (FYI to anyone, Carfax and even Autocheck reports that are clean mean nothing because lots of accidents don't get reported. Accidents that do show up on either report service are worthy of noting because they were). He refused to acknowledge NADA value too (FYI, your DMV goes by NADA not KBB). He went and spoke with his manager anyway and came back and lied saying the couple that showed up after we came back on our test drive was "going to buy it" and essentially told me to have a good day. No counter offer. Nothing. Later that evening when I got home I got an email saying the couple didn't buy it,but he did not acknowledge/accept my offer either. Instead went on to say they'd find me a 'cheaper' WRX when one becomes available. All in all, big waste of time. I've never gone to a dealership and been hard-balled over a decade-old car before. Huge waste of time and not happy with my experience at Farrish. More
James Turner was exceptionally friendly and customer oriented. At no point did he put on any high pressure sales tactics, even after we test drove 4 different vehicles over 90 minutes, two of them durin oriented. At no point did he put on any high pressure sales tactics, even after we test drove 4 different vehicles over 90 minutes, two of them during heavy rains, then left the store to test drive Toyota (RAV4) and Honda (CRV) vehicles. We returned the next day to talk more about the specifics of the vehicle, yet he still didn't apply the hard sell, even after we told him we were also considering the CRV. When we finally did return with our mind made up to purchase the Forester, James worked with us every step of the way and made it the best car-buying experience we've ever had. Thanks! More
