After searching for a new car for several months, my wife and I finally made the tentative decision last week to purchase a new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited as our second family car and my primary car. After goi and I finally made the tentative decision last week to purchase a new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited as our second family car and my primary car. After going to several non-Jeep dealerships prior to our decision to by a Jeep last week, all of which resulted in awful experiences that made us want to avoid buying ANY new car, we decided to go to the closest Jeep dealership to our house. That experience was equally awful, but I was so certain that I wanted a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited in the Sahara model in one of two difficult colors to find, that I searched the inventory on the internet of all Jeep dealers in a 100 mile radius -- my search yielded none in the two specific colors I was considering. So, I decided to call the Jeep dealership in my area that had the largest inventory, Farris Jeep in Fairfax. The sales manager, Joseph Hoffman, answered the phone and he and I had a very pleasant and productive 15 minute discussion, after which I decided to drop by the dealership later that night, even though I knew they did not have the color in the model I wanted. When I arrived, I was helped by Mr. Hoffman and another gentleman, Mr. John Grundy. During the hour I spent there, they took me on two test drives to make sure that the Sahara model was the one that I wanted. Not once did they attempt to sell me a car from their massive inventory - instead, they listened to my wishes and told me that they would do a search for my car in the colors i wanted and if they found one in a far-away dealership, they would do their best to get it for me. They were friendly and courteous the entire time - most importantly, they asked me all of the right questions and had me drill down on exactly which features I wanted in the car (and which ones I did not want). The next day, I spoke with Messrs. Hoffman and Grundy several times and they were able to find one car in each color I was considering. I picked the color I wanted the most and it had all of the features and options I wanted (and none that I did not want). I chose it and they gave me a very fair deal on it with very little haggling over the phone. I must state, that I used to enjoy the knock-down, drag-out haggling experience, since I worked in the brokerage industry for a decade, but this buying experience was so laid back that there was no sales pitch and no adversarial interactions, much to my pleasant surprise! I quickly made my decision and they did their best to get me the car as quickly as possible. I also dealt with an associate in the financing department named Kim Burke, who was very professional and helpful as well. I got a great financing rate and agreed to pick up my car today. When I arrived, Messrs. Hoffman and Grundy and Ms. Burke were, once again, incredibly helpful, professional, and pleasant. I rate the overall experience as BY FAR THE BEST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE that I have ever been involved with (I have purchased or leased, or helped a friend do so, more than a dozen times over the past 20 years). I will recommend Farrish Jeep, and specifically Messrs. Hoffman and Grundy, to anyone who I speak with who is interested in buying a new car. More
I wanted a particular car at a particular price before going in, so I called first. The sales representative (Simon) does not have one, but found one for me, and honored all our verbal agreements over the going in, so I called first. The sales representative (Simon) does not have one, but found one for me, and honored all our verbal agreements over the phone. Our verbal agreement beforehand made the actual visit into the dealership go very smoothly. There was no attempt to change the deal or backtrack on the offer, or make a switch, etc, which I encountered at another dealership. It was the first time I bought a car all by myself, and it was a very positive experience. More
I came to the Farrish dealership knowing ahead of time which vehicle my family was interested in purchasing. Mr. Simon Chu had spoken to me on the phone before I arrived and was waiting in the showroom fo which vehicle my family was interested in purchasing. Mr. Simon Chu had spoken to me on the phone before I arrived and was waiting in the showroom for me. He was extremely courteous and knowledgeable about the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland I was interested in buying. However, he did not make us feel pressured or uncomfortable with too hard of a sales pitch, either. This was a nice change from other past experiences at dealerships. The process of completeing the paperwork went quite smoothly and he made himself available the entire time. The entire experience and Mr. Chu's professionalism were excellent. I highly recommend him and Farrish. J. Brown More
Wow - by far the best car buying experience i have ever had!. Working with Simon and Justin made the entire buying process a breeze. Their customer service is outstanding. I would not even consider shop had!. Working with Simon and Justin made the entire buying process a breeze. Their customer service is outstanding. I would not even consider shopping for a car anywhere else. They gave me a great price on my trade and a phenomenal price on my new grand cherokee overland - no other dealer came close. Because i ordered my car, i was given weekly updates on its progress. But what has impressed me the most is that they truly care about the consumer and their buying experience. Following up with me after i drove my new car off the lot to make sure i didn't have any questions and to see how i liked the car was a nice surprise. Farrish goes above and beyond to make sure all of their customers get the best possible service. I will refer anyone i know looking for a new car to their dealership. You will not be sorry working with Simon, Justin or anyone at Farrish. Angela L More
I have to say that my experience with Simon and the rest of the Farrish team was not only refreshingly good but absolutely the best experience I've ever had in purchasing a car (I've bought many many cars i of the Farrish team was not only refreshingly good but absolutely the best experience I've ever had in purchasing a car (I've bought many many cars in my life). We are in a new age - the information age. Consumers flatly reject the sales tactics of the past. The new paradigm is information, communication and independent verification. Simon clearly understands this and deploys this approach in his "consultancy" relationship with clients and prospective clients. It is a rare occurrence in this day and age and really nice to see. It makes the process, even when there are issues, amazingly smooth and pleasant. Many many thanks to the Farrish team ! More
Miguel (salesman), Justin (Sales Manager) and Kim (Accounts) are the three names who I will always and forever associate with the most positive car-buying experience I will likely ever have. I entere (Accounts) are the three names who I will always and forever associate with the most positive car-buying experience I will likely ever have. I entered into the car purchasing process with apprehension based on several experiences of feeling like I was being taken advantage of from other dealers in years past, or at least feelings of being led towards what they wanted me to buy (and had in stock) and not what I wanted to buy. In the end, The team at Farrish was amazing from beginning to end. I feel like I got a really great deal on my new Jeep Unlimited Sahara, but with no pressure and no feelings of manipulation or use of hard selling tactics. Just up front pricing and genuine interest in helping me get what I was looking for. I will forever be an Ambassador for Farrish. Thanks a hundred times over!!! Dan G. More
Found this dealership using the USAA car buying service (aka zagg.com). Researched the car and got the price before ever stepping foot in the dealership. When I got there John Grundy showed me the car I wa (aka zagg.com). Researched the car and got the price before ever stepping foot in the dealership. When I got there John Grundy showed me the car I was interested in. I ended up ordering the car that day. He kept in touch through the order process with regular updates on my order. He went out of his way to make sure I was happy. Although it shouldn't matter I am in my early 20's and my age was never a factor as i purchased my top of the line Jeep. Overall experience was great. No pressure, great car, great price, perfect service! More
We enjoyed our experience working with John Grundy. He helped us move through the process quickly and was very polite with our questions. Justin was also very responsive and helpful. Simon Chu was excellent to work with. We worked with him over the summer up until we bought the car on 10/16/10. He was very courteous and professional. He walked us through all facets of the car. Showed over the summer up until we bought the car on 10/16/10. He was very courteous and professional. He walked us through all facets of the car. Showed us everything, pro and con. Took us for a test drive. The price we negotiated was fair for both sides. The final phase of completing the paperwork went without a hitch. Very good experience. I would definitely recommend them to others. More
My overall experience with Farrish was, in one phrase, "much better than expected". Customer Service: I had been looking to purchase a Wrangler for some time, and been in contact with a number of deal "much better than expected". Customer Service: I had been looking to purchase a Wrangler for some time, and been in contact with a number of dealerships (to include Farrish) in the area. No local dealership had the vehicle I wanted (with my preferred options & desired color) in inventory. A competing dealership was willing to transfer in a close match to what I wanted - but at a substantial cost. Only Farrish was willing to search for my desired vehicle and also be willing to still offer a markdown from MSRP (even though they transferred in the vehicle from another dealership). The markdown from MSRP was as good as what competing local dealership were offering for vehicles in their inventory. So in the end, I got the vehicle I wanted, with the options I wanted, in the color I wanted at a price I was willing to pay. Friendliness & Communications: The communications with both the salesperson and staff was prompt and direct, be it by telephone or email. I have a very hectic schedule, and being able to set up a test drive at the last minute was key. Although I had taken a number of test drives (both at other dealerships and also through friends who own Wranglers), I wanted to test drive both an automatic and manual "back to back". One dealership was hesitant to let me drive a stick (despite my 120,000 miles experience), another didn't have any in stock (except on a Rubicon). Farrish again shined here by setting up the test drive I wanted to confirm my preference. Price: As mentions earlier, Farrish was willing to offer a very competitive price - even though they had to transfer in my desired vehicle from another dealer. They were offering a greater markdown from MSRP (both in $ and %) than others were willing to offer initially. While I may have been able to meet (or beat) this pricing elsewhere, the prospect of negotiating for hours over a hundred dollars is not what I want from a car buying experience. In the end, I visited four dealerships, got a number of quotes of 'close matches' to my desired vehicle, and Farrish not only gave me a greater discount, they also transferred in my desired vehicle from 130 miles away. Overall experience: Let me start by saying - I really, really, REALLY don't like shopping for cars. The thought of having to haggle and negotiate for hours with people who have a less than stellar reputation is not what I would call enjoyable. My experience at Farrish changed that outlook. I felt I was treated fairly, and got a reasonable price. I don't mind allowing the dealership to make money on a sale - that is why they are in business. I DO mind getting gouged, which is what I felt with some of the competitors. This is the 2nd vehicle we've purchased from Farrish, and I hope to continue doing business with them in the future. More
