I discovered that VW has been known to sometimes cover a sizeable portion of the labor cost since the relatively inexpensive part has been widely known to fail. Making things right I dropped off my golf sport wagon TDI for insurance claim work and since the oil change was due, I decided to have both things done at the same time.
