I would rather talk w/ someone at the location to gauge estimated costs, time of service, shuttle available to Jungle Jim's, etc. The only thing the central res can do is book the appointment and the first time I did this, Fairfield VW didn't even know I was coming. On another occassion, I had an engine light coming on - it was a Saturday. The central res service continued to transfer me to VW Fairfield Service which was not picking up their phone. As such, I drove all the way to Fairfield VW to speak face to face w/ a Service rep. It turns out that the issue was not severe and the answer could've been handled via phone had I been able to speak w/ a Fairfield VW rep. Upon arrival, I was told they don't answer if busy. When I arrived a rep (not Chad) and mechanic were in the office. There were no other customers around nor a waiting queue of vehicles in the holding bay. It did not appear to be busy. Making customers continue to call and be 'transferred' to Service only to be continuously re-drected to the central res system is not good customer service. Extremely frustrating. More

Had an issue, but resolved quickly My son and I were going to replace the brakes on my wife's 2012 Tiguan. We could not break the lug nuts loose on the wheels even with a large breaker My son and I were going to replace the brakes on my wife's 2012 Tiguan. We could not break the lug nuts loose on the wheels even with a large breaker bar.We took my torque wrench and kept stepping it up to see how tight they actually were by turning them in the direction for tightening while set at a specific torque. My wrench maxes out at 150 ft/lbs. It immediately clicked even after stepping up to that setting. So, the lugs were significantly tighter than that. Fairfield VW was the last to touch the lugs as they rotated the tires during the last routine service. So we called them to complain and they asked us to come over immediately. We did. The young service technician (very pleasant, attentive and cooperative, BTW) took our suggestion and retrieved a 250 ft/lb torque wrench to see how tight they were. It was an electronic Snap-On type and as he put all he had into it, it registered 181 ft/lbs and didn't move the lugs. So he took it back to the service bay and on to a lift. He had to use and impact to get them loose. The wheels were not damaged, thankfully. He allowed us to insect as well. He then put the wheels back on and hand torqued them to the recommended 120 newton/meters or about 88 ft/lbs. Again, he was great and the service desk lady as well. The service tech mentioned some of his peers said lugs tighten more as you drive. This is is simply not true and one thing I do resent. This seemed to be an effort to cover their tracks. Moral of the story: do not use impact wrenches to tighten wheels or any other critical component. Especially those that can cause harm or fatal injury. If those wheels had cracked, it could have been really bad for all concerned. Aside from that, if we had a flat out somewhere, we would not have been able to change it to the spare. Take a few more minutes to hand torque the parts. More

Most said they were looking but really they just wanted to sell their existing inventory. Finally one dealer said he found one. I asked for pics and he sent me the link to Fairfield VW in Cincinnati. I called Fairfield and they gave me a great price right over the phone. I got an Uber driver to drop me off at Fairfield on a Friday. Fairfield had my car ready to go when I arrived. The deal was short and sweet and they accepted my personal check for the entire value of the car. They then took the time to walk me thru every aspect of the car which was great since I had never owned a VW. After the sale I had questions regarding the iPhone app capability of the radio and they stuck with me even though I had a lot of questions. I highly recommend Fairfield for your next car purchase! Great people, great prices, great dealership! More
