i needed a fuel system component for our 05 Legacy that you can only get from subaru dealerships- O'Reilly & autozone aren't able to get it & fairfield subaru is our closest subaru dealership. i called the you can only get from subaru dealerships- O'Reilly & autozone aren't able to get it & fairfield subaru is our closest subaru dealership. i called the parts department on a Monday to inquire about said part, whether they could order it or not & what the price was. i was informed of the price & that it could be there Wednesday. the price seemed oddly high so i told them i would call them back after i was able to do a little more research. turns out i was being given the price for a whole section of fuel line when i only had asked for the valve in the middle. i called back to clarify this even though i had only asked for the valve the first time to begin with. suddenly the price is half the number i received originally. we ordered the part over the phone and were told it would arrive Wednesday and we would receive a call when it arrived. on Wednesday, by the time it was mid afternoon, we hadn't heard from fairfield subaru so i called them & spoke to a different person this time. i was informed that there had been a delay with my part & several other parts that had been scheduled to arrive that day. no worries, shipping delays happen, totally understandable. i'm told the part might show up Thursday, more likely Friday. no worries. Friday afternoon i had an emergency & forgot to call the parts department myself after not hearing from them in the morning. Saturday morning i called the sales department knowing that parts was closed on Saturdays. i asked the salesman i spoke to if he could leave a note for the parts department to please call me with an update on my order first thing Monday morning. he takes my name & number & confirms he's leaving them a note & sticking it to their computer so they will for sure see it on Monday. it is now Monday, a week after i ordered the part, our Legacy leaking fuel in the engine bay the entire time. i waited until 12pm noon until i called the parts department after again no phone call. hooray the part had arrived! it had arrived on Friday (as we were told by the girl working that day). and no one had called us on Friday when it arrived, or when they found the note left by the salesman, assuming he did actually leave a note like he said he did. we went & picked up our part & fixed our Legacy. the part works as it should. next time we need something for it, we'll go to sacramento and see if they know how to use phones over there. More
