12/15/11 Update to info below: After emailing the owner, I received a call from the Service Manager apologizing for their mistake. He also stated that he has added a note to their system on the oil capacit I received a call from the Service Manager apologizing for their mistake. He also stated that he has added a note to their system on the oil capacity of the 5.4L 3-valve Triton engine to prevent this from happening again. I will give them a second chance, but will reserve recommending them pending the outcome of my next oil change. ********************** 12/14/11: I came in for an oil change on a 2006 F-150 with the 5.4L V8. Out of habit I checked the oil level after the service was completed. The oil level was low (at the bottom line of the crosshatch). The mechanic had only put in 6qt of oil when the 5.4L engine takes 7qt. The issue was corrected, however, both the mechanic and the service writer stated they thought my truck took 6qt, but didn't bother to look it up and check. I know an oil change is a simple service that doesn't pay the mechanic as well as others, but it is a very important maintenance item and if a simple service is not done correctly I will not trust that shop to do any other service. I purchased a Ford Edge from this dealer with the understanding that this particular vehicle was an all wheel drive version, of this I assured by the sales person. Quickly after taking from the deal understanding that this particular vehicle was an all wheel drive version, of this I assured by the sales person. Quickly after taking from the dealership I realized that the vehicle that we had was not all wheel drive but instead front wheel drive. Being that the purchase took place at the close of business on a Saturday, the first contact was made early Monday. In speaking with the General Manager, John Krajnovich, I found that my only option (per John) was to return the vehicle that was sold to us and purchase one that cost $4000 more in order to obtain the all wheel drive that we were looking for. I asked if there was any way that we could rescind the deal and retrieve the original vehicle that was traded in as a part of the original deal. To my surprise I was told that my vehicle had already been wholesaled. Given the very limited amount of time since the vehicle had been traded in, this didn't seem likely. Since it was the only given option, I moved forward in tracking down the all wheel drive version. 2 days had passed until the replacement vehicle became available. Upon arrival to sign the paper for the new vehicle I found my original vehicle that had been supposedly been wholesaled sitting in front of the dealership with all the stickers on it, ready to be sold. I then requested to have the original deal canceled and to take my original vehicle back. Again, this request was denied and I was forced to purchase the new vehicle. This dealership clearly lied and deceived. The majority of this deceit was performed by John. Being that he is the manager and all take direction from him, I would highly recommend seeking out any other Ford dealership as there are many in this area. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT VISIT FAIR OAKS FORD. More
