Things are always hit or miss .... I think this dealership really is great compared to most others. A few bad apples every once in a while (I too have had a less-than-patient service advisor on the dealership really is great compared to most others. A few bad apples every once in a while (I too have had a less-than-patient service advisor on the phone [some female], the old parts guy is a bit of a grump). But, there are some folks here that exceed expectations. Bart in sales for example is one of them. He is just the greatest nicest guys (Marvin is a nice fellow too). Chris Morrison, the service manager, is a good-ol car guy. He is the perfect fit for his role, he's fair, knowledgeable, and REALLY CARES about your satisfaction and your business. He'll always do what he can to make things right. And for freakishly anal guys like me who have PERFECT cars, the dealership allows for a pre-inspection (aka walkaround) to make sure you get the car back exactly like you gave it to them. NP with this accommodation. They even have a dedicated guy to do this with you. I have bought 1 car from them and service 2 (quite regularly). I totally recommend these folks. More
We currently live overseas and will be returning to the US in 2 weeks. We wanted to buy a car before our arrival so we didnt have to rent something while waiting for our other car to be shipped. We found US in 2 weeks. We wanted to buy a car before our arrival so we didnt have to rent something while waiting for our other car to be shipped. We found a Volvo wagon on their website and sent an email. They wrote back saying they would be in touch. They did make the initial email but then it went down hill from there. Since we were buying the car sight unseen there were a few specific pictures we requested. Alan said he would get right on it. Never saw the pics. Sent another email the second day and ALan gave some excuse that he had emailed them but they got returned and he would email again.....and nothing (and no, they weren't in my spam either). Called the dealership, got another sales guy and he did the same thing. Said he would have Alan call us back. Waited 2 days and even sent 2 more emails to Alan to which he didnt respond. Called the dealership yet again and no one wanted to help us. He never sent the pics, never called, and didn't even have the guts to say he didnt want to sell us the car. And we were paying cash! Long story short.....numerous phone calls, several emails, and we ended up buying a BMW from BMW of Silver Springs. These guys need some lessons on honesty and customer service. In this day and age, its not unheard of that people will buy their cars online without ever seeing them. We contacted 7 dealerships and this was the only one that blew us off. If your initial contact with a dealership isnt a good experience probably best just to find another dealership. Might I recommend BMW of Silver Springs? More
This is my third time rating this dealer, and today they get an A+ for recent work on our 10+year Jeep and our newer Dodge. Walt was extremely helpful and friendly both times (although we will continue to get an A+ for recent work on our 10+year Jeep and our newer Dodge. Walt was extremely helpful and friendly both times (although we will continue to nicely decline B&G products) -as were several persons in the parts department. Also, Chris (the Service Manager) went out of his way to help us when he could. I have been keeping my mechanic a secret, as he is that good! His name is Ron and he is the one that diagnosed the mentioned suspension issue that other dealers could not. When we were out of town recently and used another dealer to do a part of a major service on our Dodge, not only were we met with a quote for 4 new tires, but an inability to remove lug-nuts due to diagnosed splitting of the lug-nuts. When we brought it back to FOCJD for the remainder of the service, by the time that Walt went to tell Ron about the other dealer's inability to remove at least one of the tires, Ron had all 4 tires off of the car and ready for rotation. Also, Ron indicated on his inspection sheet that we needed two new tires by winter time - a very different situation than needing 4 new tires immediately as the other dealer had diagnosed. Thank you to Ron, Chris, Walt, and others of FOCJD for continuing to provide great service! More
Absolutely the first time, in the many years of car ownership (during my 42 year old life) in which I felt completely comfortable looking for a new vehicle and trusted the folks with whom I was negotia ownership (during my 42 year old life) in which I felt completely comfortable looking for a new vehicle and trusted the folks with whom I was negotiating this used vehicle purchase. Bonnie Abbott (my sales consultant) really made me feel at ease and I ended up really trusting her during the many hours we spent together working the trade of my vehicle and purchase of our 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT. The entire staff that assisted my deal at Fair Oaks Dodge (Bonnie & Tony & Chris) really made me feel informed, excited about my new purchase and confident they were there to help me every step of the way instead of just wanting to take something from me. Bonnie also spent many hours working with me (and my family) and really provided a great customer experience from start to finish. This was my first purchase from Fair Oaks Dodge and I am looking forward to getting my vehicle's services performed at this location and I will definitely recommend to my friends and family to come here if they want to get a great deal when they are in the market for a new/used vehicle. The vehicles for sale here are heads above the other used vehicle dealers in the area. I would like to say "Thank You" again to the great crew at Fair Oaks Dodge and let them know they are doing everything right in my book! Way To Go!!! More
I have been researching Jeeps for quite some time, and I was planning on going out of state to find a good deal, but a friend referred me to Fair Oaks Jeep, so I decided to check it out first before making was planning on going out of state to find a good deal, but a friend referred me to Fair Oaks Jeep, so I decided to check it out first before making the trip. I'm glad I did. The sales rep who helped me out (J.D. Higginbotham) was incredible. He was very knowledgeable about Jeeps, and he was very friendly. He helped me to pick out the perfect jeep for me, and when it came time to negotiate price, he led with a VERY fair price. I was shocked. In my past experiences buying cars, I am used to haggling down through needless mark up, but not once during my experience here did I feel like I was being sold. The paperwork didn't take too long, and while it was being worked up, J.D was kind enough to give me information on warranty valid upgrades (so I didn't run the risk of voiding it), and even introduced me to forums and sites to get involved in the Jeep community around the area. All in all, I would definitely recommend this place for those of you who are looking for a pleasant car shopping experience. More
I gave this review because everyone was very friendly and helpful. The man in charge of the financing actually took the time to find me a better rate for me. I feel that I got a very good price as I had pr helpful. The man in charge of the financing actually took the time to find me a better rate for me. I feel that I got a very good price as I had previously gone to Carmax. I was also very pleased that I got a full tank of gas! More
First of all I have to say that I am a very particular person when it comes to customer service. I learned from the best- after working at Nordstrom for 6 years. I have to also say that being a service person when it comes to customer service. I learned from the best- after working at Nordstrom for 6 years. I have to also say that being a service provider in the telecom industry has helped me see the other side, as well. I met Chris when he was on the floor as a service manager when the dealer I purchased the vehicle from could not guarantee they could fix my car problem within the weekend (only car..obvious dilemma). This dealer also was an hour away on a Saturday- so not too convenient. In any case, I drove from my work place in Paris, VA- straight down 50, at 6:30 on a Friday night, and Chris and his team took care of me straight away (this is when the service center was opened till midnite-that really sold me)! They are only 25 minutes down the road from my house so definitely very convenient! Chris has earned my trust over the years, and now that he is the manager of the service department (very well deserved), he still never steers me wrong. I am never over sold on services; he makes sure I only pay for what I really need. The other thing I really like is that for the most part, I get the same service technician to work on my car- Rich Hoffman! That's such a bonus because I feel very confident he knows my vehicle. Oh, one last thing, my 2000 JGC Laredo has almost 223k miles- and this dealer keeps it running like a champ! I will be buying a 2011 Jeep and Fair Oaks Jeep Chantilly will be my first stop! This is why I LOVE this dealer! More
The best car-buying expierence ever, even for a newbie. Everyone was very pleasent and unlike any other seller I had come across. Not only would I recommend buying a car from here, but I would purchase an Everyone was very pleasent and unlike any other seller I had come across. Not only would I recommend buying a car from here, but I would purchase another. And William is the best; I met him that afternoon and by the end of the evening I felt as if I had known him for years. A bar has been set for any other vehicle purchases I make in the future. More
First, I am a military veteran and a member of USAA. I asked if they honored the USAA car buying service pricing, and they didn't even blink an eye - I logged into a computer with the Jeep I was intereste asked if they honored the USAA car buying service pricing, and they didn't even blink an eye - I logged into a computer with the Jeep I was interested in, entered all the features, and the price it came up with was the price we began with - no hassle. The staff helped me narrow down the choices of what I was looking for, they answered my questions, and (most importantly) they were absolutely not pushy. I am the type that if someone tries to rush me into a decision, I will leave on the spot and never look back. With so many new features and computerized nuances, on my first visit, I sat in a Jeep with Thad as he patiently explained each and every feature - we must have been in the vehicle for over an hour! The time he spent made it incredibly helpful for me to understand what options I was interested in and which I felt I could do without. Knowing I was making a very well informed decision is crucial to avoiding buyer's remorse later... I felt very comfortable knowing what I was purchasing for my hard earned dollar. I had two trade-ins to get appraised on this deal. Tony worked the deal on the trade-in value. I had a 2007 Ford 5.4L V8 Triton with under 30K miles and a Ford Mustang V6 Coupe with almost 33K miles - both were in almost mint condition. I did my homework and knew the worth of both vehicles, which helped. Tony, as expected at any dealership, tried to low-ball me pretty badly by leaving off a few options that my vehicles had and listing them both at just Fair condition (which by Kelly's Blue Book definition means they have rust and dents and so forth - which my vehicles obviously did not have any of). To Tony's credit, he offered to sit down and show me on his system how he came up with his offer. I pointed out the mistakes in the entries and held my position on the condition of the vehicles. He wanted to make a customer out of me and we negotiated what I felt was a fair trade-in value. If he hadn't been willing to negotiate, I would have left and never turned back, so I am pleased that he was willing to do business and meet me at a better price. Chris handled my financing and discussed warranty options. He was knowledgeable and fantastic to talk with. He didn't try to pressure anything, even though I opted not to buy any extended coverages (because the warranty coverage that comes with these vehicles is outstanding to start with). I traded in my F-150 on the spot and the dealership was superbly flexible on getting my Mustang to their location. They sent a fantastic Porter to drive with my in my new Jeep to my house. The Porter was a very nice young man finishing his senior year in high school. He was polite, courteous and didn't mind helping me get some snow out around the Mustang for him to drive it back to the dealership. All and all, this was the best car buying experience I have ever had. As I stated, everyone should expect to have to deal on one area or another, but at less-professional dealerships, the sales staff will get pushy and rude if you try to knock down the price of the vehicle or try to get more out of your trade-in --- NOT HERE! I was taken aback and was extremely pleased with their willingness to negotiate a fair price... In fact, with the USAA pricing and getting in the mid-to-high trade in value for TWO vehicles I think I got an absolute steal! This is what makes a Five-Star Dealership the only way to go! More
I prefer "low stress" sales - show me the item available for purchase, provide relevant information, answer questions and give me a few minutes to think about it. All of my requirements were met. The sales for purchase, provide relevant information, answer questions and give me a few minutes to think about it. All of my requirements were met. The sales team was informative and friendly. I have also had serviced performed by the service team at the dealership. This experience was also pleasant and low stress. I recommend this dealership for sales and for service on one's vehicle. More
