I went into Exeter Subaru to trade in my lease. Everyone at Exeter is extremely friendly and very knowledgable of the vehicles they provide. John made the entire experience extremely easy and surprisingly fun! He was very thorough with every option my new car offered. When I took my car home I felt very comfortable in it because of him! He even set up my bluetooth for me, because I am not good with things like that. I will be a life long customer at Exeter Subaru. I have never been into a dealership that is so kind and welcoming, I really feel that they care about me. More
I came into the Exeter dealership knowing I needed a new car but not really confident in what I needed. I was approached by John who was very personable and knowledgeable. He started off by showing me my op car but not really confident in what I needed. I was approached by John who was very personable and knowledgeable. He started off by showing me my options and asking what I was looking for out of a car. He wasn't pushy or overbearing but instead was helpful and really showed interest in what my needs were. He did a great job and I will definitely return to this dealership and recommend it to my friends and family! More
I am a first time car buyer and Exeter Subaru worked closely with me to find a car that fit my needs. They answered all my questions clearly and walked me through the process in detail. They had a vehicle that matched my criteria at a price that fit my budget and cooperated with extenuating circumstances. I do wish I got more for my trade-in, but don't we all? that fit my budget and cooperated with extenuating circumstances. I do wish I got more for my trade-in, but don't we all? More
Since May I have been waiting for the new Impreza to come out. I had been talking closely to the Internet Sales Manager’s, Dan and Bill. Bill was very helpful. He took my pre-order during the Summer time and kept in contact with me on when Subaru would be releasing the car. I worked with Product Specialist, John Sughrue. John and I connected right off the bat. He and I went to the same College so I was more comfortable at the start seeing as this was my first new car purchase. Once getting to the dealership I immediately took the Impreza for a drive. John was very nice and outgoing and we had a few good laughs throughout the test drive. When it came to financing he worked with me until I was comfortable with the price. I got a chance to meet a few other employees at Exeter and they were very nice and helpful as well. Overall, I had a great experience at Exeter Subaru. More
I bought my old car at Exeter Subaru back in 2002 and had a great experience and decided to go back. I was fortunate enough to be taken care of by two sales associates, Ryan Kelly and Karisa Durkee. My initi a great experience and decided to go back. I was fortunate enough to be taken care of by two sales associates, Ryan Kelly and Karisa Durkee. My initial contact was with Ryan, he very patiently walked me through all the features of the new Subaru Outback Wagon. He then took me on a test drive in several different car models and ages so I got a really good feel for the differences. He was extremely professional and very competent in answering all my questions. Karisa was my next point of contact, she was very easy to work with, I had tons of questions that she answered in a very timely manner. I never felt pressured to buy the car and my overall impression of the whole sales process was very pleasant. I had an exceptional experience with Exeter Subaru. I would highly recommend Subaru Exeter for any one that wants to buy a car. More
I came in to Exeter Subaru after my 1999 Oldsmobile died (RIP). I met with Johnny Sughrue and felt very comfortable talking to him about exactly what I was looking for in a car and my budget (which was pret (RIP). I met with Johnny Sughrue and felt very comfortable talking to him about exactly what I was looking for in a car and my budget (which was pretty tight). Being a 22 year old female, most repair shop or dealership workers will try to take advantage of my less-than-stellar car knowledge. Johnny was very understanding of my situation and didn't try to force a sale on me. He was kind, polite and humorous. I didn't end up making a purchase that day, but will be going back soon and asking for Johnny. More
My experience working with Exeter Suburu was overall a pleasant one. My only complaint, and reason I rated customer service and overall experience good instead of great, was the excessive amount of e-m pleasant one. My only complaint, and reason I rated customer service and overall experience good instead of great, was the excessive amount of e-mails, phone calls, and mail I received from Ryan throughout the process. I am not sure whether this was Ryan's personal way to do business or a policy of Exeter Suburu or Suburu Corporate Offices. (I believe it is company policy because I went to another Suburu dealership and the salesman there led me to believe he would do the same thing. I did not give him my information so that he could - much to his dismay). Highlights of my experience with Exeter Suburu included a wide selection of vehicles to chose from, the seeming willingness of the staff to negotiate an acceptable deal, and our Salesman Ryan Kelly. He was very personable, friendly and hardworking. I am very pleased that I have a car I love. More
Karissa was great. She was very personable and knew or was willing to find the answers to my questions. I was a little displeased with the manager who offered me 800.00 for my trade in. With all the info was willing to find the answers to my questions. I was a little displeased with the manager who offered me 800.00 for my trade in. With all the information available people are aware of what happens to trade ins, repairs, mark up and such it is disappointing that such a number was given. That is the only reason for some of the lower scores. More
Not being a savvy car buyer, I spent three months trying to get situated in the right vehicle. Starting with a 2011 Subaru Impreza lease, I had attractive payments and a spiffy black vehicle. However, I'd to get situated in the right vehicle. Starting with a 2011 Subaru Impreza lease, I had attractive payments and a spiffy black vehicle. However, I'd never leased before and was finding myself preoccupied with the concept of limited mileage. Additionally, the Impreza was a bit too low to the ground. Returning to my Subaru dealer in Maine, I asked if I could purchase something larger and a bit higher off the ground. The same salesperson, knowing I had to have a vehicle with manual transmission, pointed to a 2011 Outback on the showroom floor, Premium/All Weather Package, Moonroof, 6-speed Manual Transmission, 14K Trim, Chrome Handlebars [i.e., too many features for me]. I told him it seemed like a lot of car, but I agreed to it as it was the only Subaru on the lot with manual transmission that wasn't an Impreza. After nine weeks of attempting to successfully drive the Outback MiniBus - never being able to find the interior light, trying to get the hang of an automatic "push button" E-brake, constantly focusing on all the gears - I gave up the ghost. I set out to find a dealer that would finance me in a lesser, used vehicle. After e-mails, phone calls and visits to five different Subaru dealers in New England, I almost resigned myself to keeping the Outback. It is a beautiful car. But every bank turned me down for being significantly "upside down" in the vehicle. I searched the internet one more time and found Exeter Subaru in Stratham, New Hampshire. When checking their CERTIFIED USED 1-OWNER vehicles, I came across exactly what I needed; a 2009 1-owner Subaru Forester, 5-speed manual transmission, Premium All Weather Package/Moonroof and Privacy Glass. It didn't have the auto dim mirror that I liked so well, but Exeter told me one could be provided and installed for $210. It had a real E-brake and much better visibilty, my main complaint about the narrowing side windows of the Outback. I was in a sunken ship that needed to be righted. Ryan Kelly [Product Specialist at Exeter Subaru] was there to the rescue. It is no small miracle to meet a business that treats your every wish & objection with respect and courtesy, and then goes above and beyond to help you. Undoubtedly the one mantra you hear from successful people is, " ... repeat and referral business." It takes a lot of hard work to understand how that concept works and how it pays off. This compassionate, dedicated staff whose customer goals are consistently placed ahead of its own, is well on its way to a humbled style of super success. With help from Jim LaFlamme, the Exeter Subaru Finance Manager, and Mr Duane Reid of North Carolina/Georgia who happened to be working with Exeter that day as an independent consultant, they were like gangbusters getting me approved for the used car. We must have been one step away from Mafia Financing, but they not only got me approved [where the previous five dealers had been declined], they convinced the same bank I've been with all along that this deal was worth the risk. Never for a moment did the team at Exeter leave me "out of the loop." They gave me moment-by-moment updates and limited the painful replays of my financial audit trail. Finally, a heartfelt thank you to my outstanding Product Specialist, Ryan Kelly. A photographer by trade, this young man was a bit "forced" into the world of selling cars. Yet at Exeter Subaru in Stratham, New Hampshire, Ryan has found a niche where he is greatly needed and appreciated, surrounded by an environment in which he can grow successfully in this challenging world. Backed by a financial team [and an owner] that is compassionate, forgiving and knows how to listen, I wouldn't recommend any other car sales dealer in New England. Best wishes in your purchase.
