I have done business with three Subaru dealerships in New Hampshire over the past decade. This is definitely the least friendly. If you are interested in Subaru products it is worth the drive to Concord or Hampshire over the past decade. This is definitely the least friendly. I walked in cold, not really planning to buy a car that day. I was greeted promptly by Tim Hartford. Tim listened carefully to what I was interested in and my reason for the visit. Tim showed me several cars and we talked about plusses and minuses for each. I never felt that he was pushing me one way or another. After a while he sugested we take a test drive. Honestly, I hadn't even driven the Outback Limited yet so it seemed like a good time to do it. When we returned to the dealership, we talked about trading my current vehicle or selling it privately. He was very upfront about my vehicle and I had no false expectations as to value. At that point, he asked what I thought I would have to spend to make this happen, and how I expected to pay/finance. All good questions that I needed answers to if I was actually going to buy a car. Tim spoke with the sales manager and came back with some numbers written on a page of paper. It contained options as to monthly payments, interest rates, and even contained a trade in figure for my current car. The numbers were a little off, but not that far and Tim was really interested in what I thought and where I needed the numbers to be. In the end, I bought the car, traded my vehicle, financed at the dealership, and came back a few hours later to pick up my new car. Tim took me to the service departemnt and parts department and introduced me to department managers. Everyone was quite friendly and welcoming. All in all, this was probably the second best car buying experience I have ever had. The best was an internet purchase when I never even spoke to a salesman. But Tim was able to be honest and sincere and I felt well-treated. I definitely would recommend Tim Hartford and Exeter Subaru to other people. More
I loathe the pushy, aggressive sales person who is only thinking about themselves and the money they are going to make. I am happy to say that was not the case with my experience at Exeter Suburu. I dealt with Larry Days who was professional, thorough, friendly, and informative. He took my husband and I on a few test drives, helping us find the Suburu that suited us.
