We wanted a certified Subaru Outback and our local dealer had only a small selection. A quick Internet search located Exeter Subaru's large assortment of quality vehicles at or below KBB values. A pleasant had only a small selection. A quick Internet search located Exeter Subaru's large assortment of quality vehicles at or below KBB values. A pleasant surprise also was their iPhone App which made it easy to search their inventory, locate contact numbers and hours of operation. Phone calls are quickly and cheerfully answered, and if they promise a follow-up call, they get the info you need and return the call. They provide an excellent model of efficient customer service for other dealers. We look forward to buying future cars from them. More
My company was in need of purchasing two cars - we chose the Forresters for a number of reasons. I dealt with Dan Campano. Dan was upfront, courteous and most importantly kept his word. My name is Amanda DeShong, Karisa Durkee was our sales representative at Exeter Subaru. She was very professional, knowledgable and friendly. We felt very comfortable in the dealership, everyone was fri representative at Exeter Subaru. She was very professional, knowledgable and friendly. We felt very comfortable in the dealership, everyone was friendly. I would recommend Karisa D. and the dealership to friends, family and anyone looking for a painless purchase experience. Karisa explained many of the Outback features to my partner and I on our test drive. We even drove it to our house and put it in the garage to see how it fit. We have been a part of the Subaru Family only for a few short days, but I'm feeling good about it. I can't wait to load up my fly-fishing equipment and head up North. More
I found a Legacy Limited online that I liked, so I contacted Exeter Subaru about coming in to take it for a test drive. I came in the next day and when I took it for a ride I noticed a couple things contacted Exeter Subaru about coming in to take it for a test drive. I came in the next day and when I took it for a ride I noticed a couple things that irked me. The two front tires were just short of being bald on the edges(two other Subaru dealerships closer to my house later confirmed these shouldn't have passed inspection if it was sold as a Certified Used car). It appears the tires were never rotated and I guess still not rotated even after the car came in since they front tires were the bald ones. But I was a little surprised that a dealership can certify a car when any part of a tire is bald. Especially an AWD vehicle. This seems to be a sneaky way of saving money and putting it on the customer to pick up the tab on a new set of tires. The second thing that irked me was the Radio/CD player. Not a huge issue but when looking at the photos online a couple interior photos they took of the car showed the stock radio. When I took the car for a test drive, there was an after market radio installed instead. This would be fine, except for the fact that one of the features of the car that I liked was the Harman/Kardon speaker system. It comes with upgraded speakers, an amp and a sub. The Harman/Kardon speaker system however will not work completely with an after market radio. It is designed to work entirely with the stock radio unit. Only the speakers work, but very pourly. I purchased the car anyways, because it drove and felt very nice. I ended up buying a used stock radio online and went to have it installed at a local Subaru dealership but they told me that I had to buy a brand new one in order to get the full system to work as advertised. Plus they said they confirmed that the amp didn't even work. I am just curious as to why someone switched out the stock radio for an after market. Two days later there was a lot of rain in the area and I noticed a pool of water on my passenger floor. I went to a car wash and vacuumed it out. A day later more water was in. I called and made an appointment and had to take time off from work to bring the car to Exeter Subaru to get looked at. They cleaned out the drain tubes for the sunroof and AC unit. We haven't had rain since, so I hope that has fixed the problem. So in the end, Karisa was a great sales person. She didn't pressure me into anything which was nice. I just wish that the service department would not try to save a few hundred dollars by keep bad tires on a car and calling it certified. I still purchased the car, because it felt like a solid well built Subaru and knew it would last me for years to come. I just wonder how Exeter Subaru can market the car as a certified used Subaru when the shoulder of the tires are bald and market it as a Limited model with the upgraded speaker system when it doesn't even work as advertised. I had a specific car in mind which was not on the lot; within a couple days it was located and I picked it up a couple days later. Larry was very friendly and helpful. He showed me around, introduced me within a couple days it was located and I picked it up a couple days later. Larry was very friendly and helpful. He showed me around, introduced me to the service manager, and explained the car before I drove off. A friend had recommended Exeter (and another had seconded it). I'm always a bit skeptical/on guard at car dealerships, but Larry and Jim definitely made the car buying experience less scary and answered all my questions (which were numerous). I drove away in the car I wanted and was/am very happy. More

There was no pushy sales and my wife and I were pleased with the deal that we made. I have had my new car a few months now and I love it! My experience at Exeter Subaru was highly satisfactory. I worked with Christian Lydon in the purchasing of my 2012 Subaru Impreza. After buying a 2012 Impreza Sport from Exeter Subaru, I feel comfortable giving Christian an A+ for customer service. From the beginning of my Subaru research he supplied me with accurate information, wa feel comfortable giving Christian an A+ for customer service. From the beginning of my Subaru research he supplied me with accurate information, was easy to communicate with, and was available to answer all my questions. Over a period of a few weeks, I took my time to make comparisons between multiple makes of cars and test drove at a few dealerships. There was a notable difference between other sales representatives and Christian. Basically, his base knowledge of the product he represents was superior to other salesman and I didn't feel pressured to "make a sale" that day. After my first inquiry I was sent comparison information between the Impreza and other makes of cars in the same category, which was extremely helpful (and clearly the Impreza was superior). During my test drives he supplied more information about the features that are unique to Subaru as well as discuss features that were of interest to me. Ultimately, the car spoke for itself and I entered negotiations to buy. Settling on price was uncomfortable for me, but it did go better than I expected. Overall I think all car dealerships should re-assess how they process car sales, but that is not unique to Exeter Subaru. Negotiating prices is not my personal favorite. There was one point after I purchased the car and was awaiting delivery where Exeter Subaru financing erred in their communications with me, and I was livid. However, when I brought the matter to Christian's attention he immediately handled the situation with professionalism, discovered the error, and was apologetic. More apologetic than the financing department, actually, which helped. Where Christian really shines is upon delivery of the car. He explained the details of the car with genuine enthusiasm, and his love for the product was evident. I believe him when he said to call him anytime if I had any questions. P.S. I love my new car!!
