Ripoff Artists I was lied to about the so many things with the lease of this vehicle. I was told monthly payments would be $355, when the contract was presented to m I was lied to about the so many things with the lease of this vehicle. I was told monthly payments would be $355, when the contract was presented to me they were $379. I was offered $7000 trade-in value for my 2011 Elantra Limited, but in the end they changed that to $5000 and explained that the other $2000 was included in the incentives. They marked the price of the vehicle up over sticker price of $29895 by about $3500 to $33250 and then another jump up to $36942. These were not explained to me, and when I asked any questions I was told it's just lease terms and it's all part of it. I accepted a wear and tear agreement that they explained would cover all damage, plus tires and wheels for $595, but they charged me a separate wear & tear fee of $550 and never explained that to me. They also charged me a $595 acquisition fee and also are charging $400 at the end of the lease if I choose not to buy the SUV. None of this was explained to me. They also offered to make the first payment and give me a check for $1000. They did not explain that the first payment was due at lease inception, but when I received the first notice and stopped at the dealership on Friday 6/9/17 they did. Something they should have explained in my opinion. When I asked about the check the salesman acted as if he didn't remember that and referred me to the finance person, saying it was not his deal but theirs, that he just sells the car. After talking with the finance person they said a check was waiting for me at a different location. When I picked up that check it was for $620 not the agreed upon $1000. They said they would send out the difference the next week. I received a call from Bill the salesman the following Monday 6/12/17 and he explained they were not going to send another check and that the reason the check was short $380 was that they took the first payment from the $1000. I explained that was not the deal and expected to pickup the remaining money that afternoon. It was at this point that I discovered the amount of money that they overcharged me, and that the $1000 they were writing me a check for was actually from the $5000 in trade-in value of the Elantra, and they had also put in that I had $1000 outstanding on the car when in fact it was paid in full. At this point I called Bill again and explained that if they were reneging on the agreed upon deal that I would be returning the Santa Fe to them and expected to either take my Elantra back or pickup a check for the agreed upon price of the car. When I arrived they had a check for $320, but I lost faith in them and wanted to return the car and find another dealer to do business with. They acted as if they were doing me a huge favor paying me the $320 they owed me, and I was livid with their behavior to a customer that they had cheated. I was taken into a manager's office named Tom, who told me they didn't have to give me a penny because they had a contract and nowhere in the contract did they put in the terms of the agreement we made. Even though the $1000 was coming from the trade-in value of my own car, he said it was I who was lucky to be getting any of what was essentially my own money! I was/am beyond insulted by this. He told me that if I had ripped them off that I would not care and that because they ripped me off it was my fault and he did not care. He was gloating about the depth of the amount that they ripped me off. He told me if I didn't want to take the check for $320 he could use the money, or I could take it and get out of their dealership. I will make sure that no one I know or can affect buys a car from that dealership or any other in the Ettleson group of dealers in the future. I have a family and friends that own Hyundai vehicles ranging from the Elantra to Equus, and I can promise not a single one will go anywhere near that dealer when I explain how they treat customers. Due to this lease, I will probably be stuck getting another Hyundai at the termination of this, unless I eat more money just to walk away, but after that I can say with near certainty I will move onto another car brand. You can thank Ettleson Hyundai for losing your company as many customers as I can convince to get something different. More

Great salesperson Jose Gutierrez was patient and not pushy. Probably since he was younger and still learning the ropes of car sales. The experience was overall very good with the only issue being a dealer installed "appearance package" priced at $349 that Jose said would not be included on our new SantaFe only to discover that the F&I guy had added it to the Bill of Sale. After a little back and forth, it was removed. Other than that, Jose treated us well and we walked out with a great deal. More
