When we were in the market for a new Cadillac, we never would have thought of traveling all the way to Ettleson Cadillac, Buick, GMC, in Hodgkins, IL. In the past, we had only purchased used cars and went would have thought of traveling all the way to Ettleson Cadillac, Buick, GMC, in Hodgkins, IL. In the past, we had only purchased used cars and went to Napleton Cadillac in Park Ridge, IL, which was far closer to our house.The first time we went there we met Chuck Ahonen, whom we frequently refer to as the most straightforward and honest car salesperson we had ever met. We were bummed when Napleton closed a few years ago and thought that we'd never again find a salesperson like Chuck. We decided to Google Chuck Ahonen's name and were thrilled to find out that he was still in the business. We were a bit disappointed to find that Ettleson was so far away, but we decided to travel there anyway so that we could deal with Chuck. We were not disappointed. Chuck was his usual friendly, outgoing self and worked with us to come up with what we felt was a fair trade in on our old car and a good price on a new Cadillac SRX. The other personnel that we worked with at Ettleson were just as friendly and helpful as Chuck. Unfortunately, we am not sure that we will be able to return to Ettleson for service on our SRX simply because it is so far from our house; but, rest assured that when we are in the market for another car, we will be traveling don to Hodgkins, IL to see Chuck Ahnen at Ettleson Cadillac, Buick, GMC. Michael Calmeyn was honest and direct and showed me what my cars were worth and how much was discounted THE SRX I bought three cars from Heritage CADILLAC and believed that they would give me a good price for a returned customer. However, Michael at ETTLESON showed me the deal I should have gotten . Ettleson Cadillac will have all my business from now on. It is nice to know a sales person that made my car buying experience a pleasure to deal with a car dealer. Also William Kendall made sure that I recieved the best rate on the car loan. Ettleson cadillac made me like I was someone special and I guess I was because I was now their CUSTOMER. More
We had purchased a 2012 Regal from this dealership on February 23, 2012. At the time we thought the vehicle would save us money on gas. (We traded in a 2006 Renedevous.) After my having knee replacement surgery on April 17, 2012 my husband realized the Regal was too small. My husband made a trip to the dealership to see what we could do. Our salesman - Craig Westlund - brought my husband into see either a manager or one of the owners. They worked with him to give us options. We went back together and looked at the Lacrosse. It would have cost us an additional $5000.00 to purchase. That was out of our reach. So Craig offered we meet with Jason Dulaney to go over our lease options. Craig and Jason even searched out a "Demo" car to try to make our payments more affordable. They spent a lot of time trying to correct our error. We are happy with the gas mileage on the Lacrosse and it rides better than the Regal. Unfortunitly we lost the $2000.00 down payment that we had put on the 2012 Regal. We know that was our fault. My husband and I know that there is not much "wiggle" room on pricing on a new vehicle. Having said that, we still feel the price was high. Although they were very busy on a Saturday afternoon, the car was purchased painlessly. Everything about the car was well explained and operational features were shown. This was the best car buying experience I have ever had. I shopped on the internet first and sent emails to area dealers, primarily because I do not like the games that car salesman have played in my past e I shopped on the internet first and sent emails to area dealers, primarily because I do not like the games that car salesman have played in my past experiences, such as doing the hard sell, holding on to the keys of your trade in, etc. I started shopping for my Enclave at another dealer first, primarily because the owner was a friend's relative. I told them exactly where they needed to be with the price. They weren't able to do it, so I left. Two days later they called me back and said they could work things out. I went back, fell in love with a vehicle on their lot, and made my best offer. They said no, didn't even counter, and told me to have a great day. I felt pretty deflated at that point since I felt that since I was a referral from the owner, they would provide the best deal. I emailed a few other dealers in the area. Many dealers sent misleading quotes or sent no quote at all. Mike Foster from Ettleson sent me a detailed quote with all the fees and rebates clearly spelled out. He respected me from the start and assumed that I am an educated individual who has done my homework on the vehicle. He was very transparent, which was not the case with other dealers. On top of that, his quote beat all area dealers. I made an appointment to meet with Mike to get my trade-in appraised. He was exceptionally kind and funny. He listened to me and understood our families needs, both on vehicle specs and price point, and told us the best time to buy a car is when we are ready. It was a very low-pressure environment. He quickly got my trade-in appraised, gave me back my keys prior to us talking prices on the new car and trade-in value, and provided me with a written quote that was easy to follow. He offered me what I was hoping to get for my trade-in. And then he arranged for us to get the very car we fell in love with at the other dealer as a transfer to his dealership the next day. We got the car we wanted for cheaper than the other dealer and received more for our trade-in. So exceptionally easy! When purchasing the vehicle, the finance guy was funny, efficient, and knowledgeable. He did not pressure us into a number of additional add-ons. He explained the add-ons, told us the benefits of them, encouraged us to buy them, but once we expressed our lack of interest, he moved on. In the past, I felt bullied into buying things like extended warranties, rust-proofing, etc. It was painless. Finally we met with Ed, who demonstrated all the features of the new car and quickly got us on our way with feeling comfortable with all of the new unfamiliar features of the vehicle. Overall, this was a breeze. I will happily return to this dealer for any future car purchases and happily refer friends and family to these great people at Ettleson Buick. More

Ruben was our sales guy, and he did an excellent job, helping find the best vehicle for our needs and getting us a terrific price.
