In May I bought a used Jeep Wrangler Rubicon unlimited from Emmons. My salesman was very good to work with—the management not so much. After buying the car and getting it checked for a road trip to Colo from Emmons. My salesman was very good to work with—the management not so much. After buying the car and getting it checked for a road trip to Colorado, I found numerous defects that should have been disclosed and/ or fixed by the dealer. The spare was smaller and the wrong size for tires on the Jeep. One of the wheels had clearly been a wreck at some point. I asked the dealer to provide a proper sized spare and they declined. Evidently they think you can drive a 4 wheel jeep off road with different sized tires. On a less drastic level, I found that Emmons had not bothered to have the outstanding recall matters addressed. I clearly could address this, but what is the point of their multipoint inspection. The issues did not end there. They knew I intended to take the vehicle to a home in Colorado and to tow a small trailer. Guess what, they never checked the hitch wiring to see if it was working—so much for the mulit-point inspection. Finally, the radio was failing. While they offered to address this, they wanted me to bring the car back from Colorado. I had gone to Emmons because they seemed to get good reviews. Do not accept those reviews at face value. Do not rely on their inspections. I gave them every chance to find solutions to these problems. Instead of standing behind their product, they took senseless positions. It was really disappointing.
