I recently went for a routine oil change with tire rotation. I was given back my car and the tires were never rotated. I started bringing my car to Elkin's Chevrolet for services after a terrible experience at another Chevy dealer. This was my second service visit and my only regret is not going to Elkins sooner! Santia is extremely helpful and knowledgeable and I like that there is no pressure to get other things done on my vehicle. I can feel confident that I can bring my car on and leave with just an oil change without being talked into needing a number of other things. This visit my car did need a new battery, however there was not pressure to get it done at Elkins (even though I did decide to do it there), the price was fair, and I felt confident that the work that they told me was needed was needed and not them just trying to make more money off of a repiar. I highly recommend Elkins for all your service needs! More
I am fairly disappointed with my service at Elkins - I brought my truck there for it's previous service in May and had indicated that there was a problem with the brakes. I had indicated that they becom brought my truck there for it's previous service in May and had indicated that there was a problem with the brakes. I had indicated that they become hard and not effective at low RPMs. Nothing was done about this and I was told there was nothing wrong with it. Upon picking up the truck, I had the service writer come out to the truck and I had him sit in the truck and reperform, you can visibly see the brake pedal coming up as he pumped the pedal indicating that it was getting harder while the truck was idling. That service writer insisted there was nothing wrong with the truck. Now, after backing into my neighbor's fence due to not being able to stop the truck, I had another shop diagnose the problem as the vacuum pump for the brake system. Further, I discovered on my own, there's a 2019 recall for this very problem which was initially refused when I had asked about it to the Elkins service department when scheduling this past service last week! When I insisted that they check again, it was discovered that it was a special recall that was only applied when a customer complained of an issue. I complained last MAY and now have to fix my neighbor's fence! Elkins seems to be all about serving me up with the profit driven recommended flushing services but not about ensuring my vehicle is safe. In terms of dealing with Santia this time, there wasn't anything to be said good or bad other than telling me there wasn't a recall when there in fact was. More
