Needless to say, even in the internet age, there are plenty of car dealerships that prey upon innocents and try to play mind games with customers. I was quite happy to meet Karl at Elk Grove Toyota who helped me get the car I wanted for a price that was fair, even by Costco/AAA/Consumer Reports/True Value standards. He told me what the differences were between various makes and trim levels without pressuring me to make a decision on the spot. He was always nice and friendly without talking down to me or saying inappropriate things. When I was ready to buy my car, he even helped me buy locally by matching a price that I could have gotten at another dealer through a buying program. When it was time to finance my new wheels, Chris was likewise professional and not prone to pressure tactics. He explained all my options thoroughly and didn't mind as I read through the voluminous paperwork. Everyone I spoke with at Elk Grove Toyota was great, and I can honestly say that buying a car from them was a nice experience...unlike any other dealership in the area. Good car....not so good service We went to Elk Grove Toyota, because the price on the vehicle we were looking to purchase was the best we had found. The first trip we made we test drove the vehicle and didn't make the purchase. We went home did a little research and went back a little over a week later with the intention of making a purchase in which we did. Between the two trip we worked with two different salesmen while making the purchase, the first problem I had was I was told blatant lies while discussing the vehicle, as the salesman did not know we had previously been there looking at the vehicle. Next comes the service department... While we were getting into the new vehicle the day of the purchase we discovered a broken part. The sales team took care of getting in contact with the service dept. and we were told to get in touch with them the next day to schedule the installation of the part. After TWO attempts at getting in touch with the contact we were instructed to deal with and no callback, I finally got a hold of someone that was willing to help me. We scheduled an appointment to get the part installed and a 15,000 mile service that needed to be done even though i purchased the vehicle with over 15,000 miles. So... I go down for my scheduled appointment and find a huge line of cars and it appears first come first serve (why did I even make an appointment). finally a gentleman comes to help me after waiting for at least 20 min. We go into his office and he tells me its going to be over 2.5 hrs for the service (which apparently is only a tire rotation and a brake inspection) and to install the part (which i could have installed in less than a minute). So with no time like that to wait i decline the service and ask to just install the part. This only took a little over an hour to install. More
