I also was formally introduced to the Financing Manager, Brian Fuller. Both gentleman helped me through this process with ease and comfort. To make this story short. If you are looking into purchasing or trading in your used vehicle. By all means, do not hesitate to stop in at Elgin Toyota. I myself drove over 35 minutes just to see what they had. I am so glad I did and a found a jewel in my used 2016 Lexus IS350 AWD F SPORT. BRAVO ZULU!!!----TO ALL THE SALES AND SERVICE PERSONNEL WHO MADE THIS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE AND IN A TIMELY AND EFFICIENT MANNER. More

First of all when we got there the sales person was barely helping us. We wanted to test drive couple of the cars that we had in mind however, instead of pulling those car the sales person was telling us that he doesn’t work till midnight. We were at dealers since 5pm in evening. It’s not like we walked in at 8:30 and ask him to show this cars. Finally the sales manager assigned a different sales person to us. He showed us the car and put effort to help us. However when we were finalizing the purchase of a car the finance guy name Robert was showing us so much attitude. No greeting or kind words at all. He had so much ego and attitude towards us that he just wanted us to sign the paper work and be done with formalities. One after another everyone had attitude at this place. We weren’t done yet, it was used car so it had some damages that they agreed to fix it upon finalizing the sales. I was that someone from service department will call to make an appointment to replace those damaged parts. 4 days later I didn’t hear anything back so I called and they are like sorry it took us long to get back to you. Looking at the description they had no clue what needed to be order. So they wanted us to take the pictures and send it to them. Finally after 2 weeks of purchase they got the parts. According to the appointment I dropped off my car and I was told that it will take around 1-2hrs to get everything done. I dropped off it since 12:30PM but I didn’t get call to pick it up until 4:45pm and services closes at 5PM. Next thing we know, it’s still missing one part because they didn’t order correct part for it. While I am talking with service person he starts talking with another customer. I waited on side for him to be done with them and next thing we know he went home. I was so frustrated so I tried to speak with manager and he goes like I wasn’t involve in this conversation so I can’t help you. Seriously, it’s like nobody ever wanted to help us to begin with. From beginning till now it has been a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH THEM. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANY CAR FROM THEM AGAIN. AVOID THIS PLACE. More
Avoid My wife and I wanted to purchase Toyota Corolla LE. We were assured by the sales team they would not only price match any other offers from other deal My wife and I wanted to purchase Toyota Corolla LE. We were assured by the sales team they would not only price match any other offers from other dealers, but they would BEAT the quote. We came in and the sales rep and manager clearly didnt accknowlege the quote and were looking for excuses not to price match. Bob the manager kept pointing at the quote's terms and conditions and said the quote does the include additional accessories. The funny part is even Elgins online quote says the same thing about not including additional accessories and its 1k higher. Avoid them at all costs..waste of time More

Right at the entrance, we were welcomed by Pete, who was very accomodating, welcoming, and was trying to get us the best price that would make us both happy. But then, Siril, the sales manager arrived and he automatically assumed that the car was for my boyfriend, and not me, so he was basically ignoring me and trying to make sales talk with my boyfriend. So I just kept quiet, until my boyfriend told him that the car was actually for me, and that’s the ONLY TIME Siril looked at me. Moreover, he automatically assumed that we don’t have any credit, he was actually literally laughing at us and saying we can’t apply for finance, until I told him that our credit score was 795 and our credit limit is 11,500, that was the only time he took us seriously and by that time, I was kind of annoyed that I decided to just walk away. A+ for Pete but for Siril, a big F. More

When I went to see a car and of course loved it, Bob K came out and "congratulated" me on my new purchase. I explained to him that my wife wanted to see the car first. He said "Take it home." That sounded strange to me. I called her and she refused to allow that - understandably. I told him that we would be back the next day. Sure enough, the salesman Marlon P was not there and the new guy Jeff demanded a credit app. I told him that I had pre-approval through Roadloans and Bob K said that they need a credit app by law and that they are not a Roadloans dealer. I showed him evidence to the contrary online and contacted Roadloans to confirm it - which they did. He then told me that it is their decision to honor Roadloans terms or not. I was approved with no down payment and explained that I did not have a down payment and also told them everything about my trade in - including the payoff. He told me that it was basically impossible for the car that I wanted. He then tried to pressure me into buying... A brand new Corolla. I refused. Unethical and ridiculous. More
Don't trust their brake work! My Prius rear brake rotor put on by them were cut in March 2018, right after I drove back home from their store, I noticed the rotors had groove My Prius rear brake rotor put on by them were cut in March 2018, right after I drove back home from their store, I noticed the rotors had grooves on it. I called them many times and complained about it. Today (May 21, 2018) I stopped by and wanted to show my concern to their service department director Anthony Thiel. First I was told that he is at another dealership so I cannot talk to him. But later the assistant manager went inside and brought him over. Mr. Thiel was very arrogant and rude. I told him I drove all the way to their store to show him my concern, but at one point he said "I did not tell you to come!". When questioned him about the grooves on rear rotor, I compared with my front brake rotors which were original and groove-free, he said my front rotors were made in Japan and my rear rotor they put on were made somewhere else, so they are not comparable. He offered me to cut the rear rotors again, but told me grooves will come back. So I turned down his offer. They rear brake rotors and pads were replaced by Elgin Toyota at the end of 2016, and the rotor became so rough in January of 2018, and the technician said the caliber froze due to lack of grease put on the caliber from the work done in 2016. That is why I asked to re-cut the surface of the rear brake in March 2018. When looking at the whole thing, the poor brake service are multiple-folds: (1) The work done at end of 2016 did not have caliber greased properly. (2) The rotor they put on do not meet the standard of the factory rotor. That is why so many grooves on their rotors. I thought Toyota dealers would use all the quality parts, but apparently it is not the case with Elgin Toyota. My original rear brake lasted almost 80,000 miles, but after Elgin Toyota replaced my rear brake, it lasted a little bit more than 10,000 miles and then I had to resurface the rotors. It is very disappointing. Updated on 5/12/2019: I would rate them zero star if allowed. Here is the update to the story: At the end of Jan of 2019, my rear brake started to make scratching noise, so I drove to Elgin Toyota and hope that they could address the issue. Over there they told me that the calipers were stuck and the brake pads were wearing down unevenly. They told me I needed to have the calipers replaced. I rejected their proposal. I started to watch Youtube videos and learned how to repair car brakes. At the end of April 2019 I took apart the right-side rear brake and saw the outer pad wearing down tapered. I also took apart the caliper, and did not see any problem with the caliper at all, the cylinder was shining like new with perfect condition, no sign of caliper cylinder being stuck. The main problem was with the lower pin, it had a lot of rust and was stuck. Today (5/12/19), I took apart the left-side rear brake and saw the tapered wearing on the outer pad as well but with even worse condition, it went all the way to the metal on one side. The cause of such wearing is because they dealer forgot to put in one of the spring that pushes the pads away from the rotor. Without the spring, the pads were left in contact with the rotor all the time, wearing done very fast and unevenly. This left-side rear brake also had a rusted lower ping. The pins were replaced new when they replaced my rear brakes back in Aug of 2016 according to their receipt. I don't expect new pins to get rusted so quickly since the original ones lasted 6 years with almost 80k miles. I really want to share my experience with you so you know what to expect from Elgin Toyota when you get service from them. More
