Our credit was not perfect but Maurice was able to give us a much better deal than other dealerships we had visited. They were very patient and there were no high pressure "sales tactics" used. Unlike previous car buying experiences it was actually comfortable and pleasant. I would recommend visiting Elder Ford before you make a final decision. More

Not everything that happens at a car dealership is what it seems, or goes as plan. If you are anything like me you are wary of “used car salesmen” in the first place. I made contact with Ed Michaels at Eld it seems, or goes as plan. If you are anything like me you are wary of “used car salesmen” in the first place. I made contact with Ed Michaels at Elder Ford to look at a 2010 Ford extended van that I had seen in the truck trader. Ed told me that the van was still available and for me to come in. To make a long story short, when I arrived to view the van I found that the van had been sold without Ed’s knowledge earlier that day. Of course I was already cautious before I arrived, so I automatically thought that I had been duped into driving up to Tampa to be sold a different vehicle. I drove away very upset, and I made that known to Ed in an email the next day. I told him that I drove a 126 mile round trip for nothing, and I said some not-so-nice things, lumping Ed Michaels in with what I felt about used car salesmen. At any rate, Ed isn’t your average salesman. He indeed has a heart, and he was genuinely sorry for the event and made it up to me by sending me a $50 gas card for my trouble. I said all that to say this. If you are reading this review to help make a decision whether or not to shop at Elder Ford, I suggest you look Ed Michaels up, because with him you are going to get a real person who really does care about your needs. When I was in the market for a new car last December, I called ahead to the dealership. They were waiting for me with a couple different models to show me. I was able to drive them and compare with other d called ahead to the dealership. They were waiting for me with a couple different models to show me. I was able to drive them and compare with other dealerships. Rob worked tirelessly to get me the best finance deal available, and the staff was very accomodating. As a veteran, I was looking around and saw all the events Elder had sponsored and knew I was in the right place. Great service, Great people and a great atmosphere. Will purchase all cars from here on out from Elder Ford of Tampa. More
By far the best used car experience I've had in over 25 years of buying vehicles including using dealers, brokers, auctions, and private party sales. After researching Autotrader and CarMax, Elder Ford's p years of buying vehicles including using dealers, brokers, auctions, and private party sales. After researching Autotrader and CarMax, Elder Ford's price points were the best around on a variety of low mile, newer used vehicles. That brought me in to this dealer, and I was not disappointed. The Pre-Owned Manager Tommy Difilippo was honest and straightforward and his prices beat the best in a 100 mile radius. AND he gave me the best trade value I have ever received from a dealer. Not the usual low ball, but an actual fair estimate of vehicle worth. All salesmen were professional. What we saw was what we got. A good selection of great priced used vehicles, low miles, 1-3 years, with no surprise issues. As a career military officer, I recommend this dealer to ANY serviceman, or their spouse, to purchase a quality vehicle within their budget in an honest, friendly environment. More
This dealership sold me a Ford F150 2005 That was unsafe. When we went to look at the car the brake light was on we asked for them to fix the reason the light was on. They said they went through everything o When we went to look at the car the brake light was on we asked for them to fix the reason the light was on. They said they went through everything on the truck and the light was on bc of a cluster problem. They said that they would replace it for us. When we brought the car home we noticed it had problems braking. There were no pads left the rotors were heavily scored, it was metal to metal. It could have killed us in the rain on the way home!!! That was the reason the brake light was on not the cluster. Everyone we spoke to at this dealership especially Joe Moon the salesperson was a liar! I would never recomend buying a car from these people! More
DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE PEOPLE...YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! 1ST- THEY SWITCHED THE WARRANTY STICKER WHEN WE CLOSED, FROM FULL MANUFACTURE WARRANTY TO LIMITED. ( WHICH IS ILLEGAL BY FEDERAL LAW) 2N WARNED!! 1ST- THEY SWITCHED THE WARRANTY STICKER WHEN WE CLOSED, FROM FULL MANUFACTURE WARRANTY TO LIMITED. ( WHICH IS ILLEGAL BY FEDERAL LAW) 2ND- WHEN WE PURCHASED THE USED CAR, IT HAD A KENNE BELL SUPERCHARGER INSTALLED BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER, THE CAR ONLY HAD 3,500 MILES ON IT, W/... FULL FACTORY WARRANTY & WE PURCHASED EXTENDED WARRANTY(ONLY CAUSE I'VE OWNED MANY FORDS & KNOW THEY CAN BE EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR AFTER 36K MILES). 1 MONTH LATER... CAR NOW HAS 5,500 MILES & LOST 3RD GEAR IN AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. TOWED CAR TO DEALER & FOUND OUT WARRANTY WAS VOIDED & EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY CANCELED CONTRACT. ELDER FORD REFUSE TO EVEN TAKE IT APART TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG, UNTIL THEY KNEW WHO WAS PAYING FOR IT SINCE THE WARRANTY HAD BEEN VOIDED. THEY SAID IT WAS DRIVER ERROR..REALLY?? SERIOUSLY?? YOU DIDN'T EVEN DISASSEMBLE IT!!! HOW CAN U TELL SOMEONE THAT??? SO, WE PAID TO TOW IT BACK TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP & PAID TO HAVE IT DISASSEMBLED TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG. WE FOUND SERVO PISTON SEAL BLEW OUT IN TRANSMISSION( WHICH HAD A TSB ABOUT IT FROM FORD). I CALLED FORD TO COMPLAIN & GOT NOWHERE WITH THEM ABOUT THE FACTORY WARRANTY BEING VOIDED. ELDER FORD WOULDN'T HELP GETTING WARRANTY REINSTATED...THANKS! THESE PEOPLE ARE A BUNCH OF GREEDY IDIOTS, WHO CARE NOTHING ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE...WE NOW HAVE A BEAUTIFUL $28,000 CAR PARKED IN MY GARAGE, WE HAVE TO CONTINUE TO MAKE THE LOAN PAYMENTS, & WE HAVE A BROKEN DOWN CAR THAT HAS ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY AT ALL. ELDER FORD REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING WITHOUT KNOWING WHO IS GOING TO PAY THEM FOR THE WORK. ALL PIGS GO TO SLAUGHTER....... More
I had found a car I liked on their website 2mo ago and called the dealership about it. I was directed to Paul in the used car department. So my wonderful experience began from there! I inquired about a called the dealership about it. I was directed to Paul in the used car department. So my wonderful experience began from there! I inquired about a Ford Focus. Well I ended up not having the time to come to see it as I see now it was for the best. Paul kept checking in with me but was not annoying like typical car sales people. A few weeks later he called to let me know that they now had many used Ford Focus’s to choose from. I needed leather! Well he had a few so of course I drove down. I drove one that caught my eye and yes we went back in after the test drive and I got to know the staff. Robert Elder just happened to be in the building, very nice guy, I had no idea who he was until I started talking about my home state to the guys. At any rate, these people, all of them minus 1 (he didn’t ever say much as I think I scare him) WERE wonderful! I felt like I was at home or a football game with my friends! They are very personable, professional, team oriented staff! They gave me a great deal and trust me I needed a good deal as I am a single mother of a 1year old and I have MS. They understood my needs and my budget. The least I can do is share my story to other buyers looking for the real deal! By the way Tommy made it all very personal as he helped to seal the deal with Paul! Great job guys and thank you again! Mr. Elder you are a lucky man to have the staff that you do! To: Paul, Tommy, and the guy from MI, if any of you ever need a job please contact me! BTW I LOVE MY Ford Focus SES! More
I brought my car in for warranty work. My car had less than 20,000 miles. The A/C was out and the transmission was banging into gear. Later that day my service adviser called to give me the bad news. The than 20,000 miles. The A/C was out and the transmission was banging into gear. Later that day my service adviser called to give me the bad news. The A/C had been damaged and would not be covered under warranty and they could not find a transmission problem. I brought it in to Gator Ford and they fixed both problems (very expensive) under warranty. I went back to Elder only to be told the A/C problem may or may not have been covered by Ford but were looking out for Fords best intrest. They could not give me an answer to the question "Why could you not find the problem with my transmission?" To make matters worse I left a bad review on google only to find out it had been knocked down by two good reviews. I checked the good reviews only to find out the people who wrote them also gave great reviews to Mitsubishi,Saab, and Jaguar all brought in for service or purchasing a new car all on the same day. Funny all those dealerships are owned by the same company. I am sure these "customers" are happy because of the real customers who get suckered in. More
