Good Experience Gone Bad I pulled up at the dealership Saturday afternoon after leaving another one who said the vehicle I wanted from this lot had already sold. I met with a I pulled up at the dealership Saturday afternoon after leaving another one who said the vehicle I wanted from this lot had already sold. I met with a nice manager by the name of Benjamin Lee, who I explained what happened to. I asked him to please link me with a salesman who isn't going to give me the run around, waste my time and lie to me. I was introduced to Don Lyles. I handed him the stock number of the vehicle I was told from their partner dealer that was sold to discover it was sitting out front. I told him I wanted to purchase it and gave him all of the details about payment, my trade, etc. and he promised he wouldn't waste my time. After a little but normal back and forth he did the best he could. I was then introduced to Sales Manager Terrance Wray. The numbers didn't quite add up to what we needed but after a little discussion, Terrance was able to make things work out just as we needed them to. During my conversation prior to paperwork with Don, I asked him was a cargo shade in the truck, he says no it doesn't come with it. I said "well if you can get me one of those since it is very important for me to have one, we have a deal". He says "I can do that". While waiting on the paperwork portion, Don explained that since it was late in the evening he wouldn't be able to get it detailed but I can come back next week. He added that he would be at work every open day next week so I could come back and go over features and get the detailing done any day. The next day, I realized I didn't receive the cargo shade and was missing what's known to me as standard, a front tag plate and all weather mats. Monday, I arrived back at the dealership for the detailing and other missing items. Don says he didn't know I was coming today and said he wasn't sure about the timing (how long this would take). We went into his office and I asked about those 3 items. About the front tag plate, he says 95% of the vehicles come with it but this one didn't so I could purchase one for $15. At this point, I have a strange look on my face. He then says the cargo shade and mats also didn't come with it and asked me if I looked on the window sticker to see if it was on there. I said that I thought these items would be standard as they've been in the past, like with my Toyota I traded. He tells me "Well this is Chevy not Toyota and we don't add these things and if we did you would have saw it on the sticker and I'm not about to go steal it either" I then tell him, I would like to get those things out of my trade since they aren't "standard" and you're saying I paid for them with a Toyota whether I know it or not. Don says "well you should have got them before you signed it over to us, it's ours now" At this point, I am totally upset, I get my "paid for" cargo shade out of the Toyota since I'll need to sell it to purchase myself a nearly $300 one from Chevy. He then asked for my keys for the detailing and at that point I didn't want to be at the dealership another minute with his smart mouth lying self, so I left. Since I have to pay for everything else, might as well pay for a detail somewhere else too! Typical salesman, get my commission and all of a sudden get amnesia. Well anyway, thank you Benjamin for being so nice and Terrance for your helpfulness and patience, it was greatly appreciated. More
