Absolutely Terrible Customer Service I feel compelled to write this review after my most recent visit to Edison Nissan to warn others of their terrible customer service. xxxxxxxx, Stupid I feel compelled to write this review after my most recent visit to Edison Nissan to warn others of their terrible customer service. xxxxxxxx, Stupid, Ridiculous....those are a few of the words that John Lieber of Edison Nissan said to me when I came in for an oil change today. Before I tell you about my most recent experience with John, let me give you a bit of backstory. BACKSTORY During my previous visit, I took my car in for a routine oil change. Once the work was complete, I was called from the waiting area to retrieve my vehicle and then headed home. Halfway home, my maintenance oil indicator popped up on my dashboard. This gave me cause to pause, as I had literally just left the dealership not even a half hour ago. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the service sticker in the top right of my windshield had not been updated to display the mileage and month/year (mm/yyyy) of my next service. This made me very upset, as it appeared as if nothing had been done to my car! I called Edison Nissan the next day (as they were closed by the time I got home the previous day), and ended up speaking with a service advisor by the name of John Lieber. Based on my previous visits to Edison Nissan, I am familiar with John and his unprofessional / rude demeanor. Every time I go to Edisson Nissan, I try to steer clear of him...as I do not want to be bothered with his abrasive and callous attitude. When he speaks to customers, it is almost as if he is disgusted with them and does not want them to be there. However, given that I have no control over who answers the phone in the Edison Nissan service department, I decided to voice my concern to John. I explained to him that I did not think that my oil had been changed because my service sticker had not been updated, and that my maintenance oil indicator had popped up on my dashboard a little while after the oil change. Now this is where his unprofessionalism kicked in.....Instead of apologizing for the inconvenience or asking if there was anything he could do to help, he insisted (vehemently, I might add) that my oil was indeed changed and that the mechanic may have simply forgotten to replace the sticker and reset the maintenance oil indicator. What really irritated me about his statement was that he wasn't even there when I took my car in for the oil change that day! And he even acknowledged that! So I told him that the mechanic could have very well forgotten to replace the sticker and reset the maintenance oil indicator., however I still wanted to come down for an oil change just to ensure that everything was done properly. Now normally, a person with great customer service would say "Okay, not a problem. When would you like to come in?" But you know what John told me? He told me that I did not need to come down, and that I could check the oil myself!! What kind of customer service is that!? I literally pay them to service my vehicle so that I do not have to! Is this how Nissan handles customer issues? By making customers double-check the work themselves?? After telling John that I refused to go out in the middle of the winter to double-check a mechanic's work, he apathetically said that I could bring the car down if I wanted. And so that is what I did... TODAY When I walked into the service department, John asked what I was there for, and I told him to get an oil change. He asked for my phone number, looked me up in the system, and then told me that I was NOT there for an oil change. He said it's "stupid" for me to get an oil change, since I got one the last time I was there. This really made me upset. Not only because of what he said, but the way he said it. He had a smirk on his face, and shook his head as if to indicate that I had no idea what I was talking about. Let me get this straight...I walk into Nissan as a paying customer, tell you that I am here to get a specific service done to my vehicle, and then you tell me that's NOT why I am here!? What the xxxx? This is exactly why I try to avoid this guy whenever I go there because he's very aggressive and confrontational in his approach when it comes to dealing with customers. When I explained to him that I did not believe that my oil change was performed during my last visit, he told me that that's ridiculous and to walk with him outside and that he would PROVE it to me by checking my oil. Again, this infuriated me because I did not go down there to have him check my oil. I went down there to get my oil changed....period! After a bit of back and forth with him, I simply said the following: It's not my fault that your mechanic did not do his/her job correctly during my previous visit. As a paying customer, I bring my car here to have it serviced. There is a certain level of expectation that needs to be met when I bring my car in for an oil change. That level of expectation was not met during my previous visit due to the number of carless mistakes and oversights that took place when servicing my vehicle. As a result, I want to have my oil changed as a show of good faith and to give me piece of mind. After finally realizing that I was not leaving until I got my oil changed, he told me that it's also not his fault that the mechanic was "xxxxxxxx" (a word that really gets under my skin) , and then told me to sit in the waiting room and that he'd call me when my car was ready. About a half hour later, my name was called, I took my car, and went home dissatisfied. Due to my encounter with John, I left Nissan with more uncertainty than when I arrived. I did not feel confident that any work was performed on the vehicle the last time, and I definitely did not feel more at ease after dealing with John's attitude today. TAKEAWAY If you ever have to visit this Nissan location, steer clear of service manager John Lieber. I am not the only one who has had the unfortunate encounter of experiencing his unpleasant behavior. Just look up a few of the reviews pf Edison Nissan on Yelp, Google, or Facebook, and I am almost certain you will find AT LEAST one that complains about the conduct of John Lieber. His conduct is unethical, discourteous, and simply rude. I have been visiting this location for the past 4 and a half years...ever since I purchased my vehicle actually. However, I do not think I will be visiting this location again. I simply refuse to subject myself to the possibility of encountering John again and exposing myself to unnecessary condescension and terrible customer service. I should not have to walk on eggshells when I go there for a routine service. I should not have to plead my case, and practically beg someone to provide me with a service for which I am paying! I know he's just one guy out of all of the employees there. But you know what they say..."One bad apple can spoil the bunch." And he is definitely spoiling the reputation of Edison Nissan. Taking my car and money elsewhere... More
Bait and Switch I was in recently to take a test drive of the Nissan Sentra that was listed online for $11,995. The salesperson Stephen was a fast talker and a little aggressive for my liking , but this is sales right? We went for a test drive and when we returned to the dealership he asked me my phone number (I assumed for a customer profile - but it was not. He was googling me. My only guess was to see if I was worth his time. We had to leave because my daughter had to work. I told Stephen what I was putting down and what she could afford a month - To call me with the numbers. Well he went to get his manager Anthony to discuss a deal. WITHOUT checking my credit Anthony had a list of monthly payments and terms. For a $7000 loan for five years I was quoted $230/month. I got up to leave and he made it seem like he was doing me a favor bringing the payment down to $180/month. I initially agreed until options on a vehicle were no longer options - they were "part of the deal". The whole time this is happening Anthony is being inappropriate with my 18 year old daughter - I ended up walking out because of that and because I felt cornered and caged. Typical bait and switch business practice. I am rating this dealership because I do not want another family to go through what I had dealt with. Being in finance for 30 years, I did the math when I got home. It would have cost me over $18,000 for a $12,000 car. If you need another horror story of this tag team - check Yelp. More

Criminal Enterprise! Refused to refund Deposit! If I could give a 0 star I would. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! The last review said it best. This place is a criminal enterprise! As prev If I could give a 0 star I would. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! The last review said it best. This place is a criminal enterprise! As previous reviews stated, they will run your credit right away! Which is a knock against your credit score. This dealership plays all the different sales games in the book! They are dishonest because they have so many cars in their lot and a lot of leftover vehicles from the year before. This is a huge red flag. I wish I had known this earlier. Hopefully, you will not make the same mistake of going to this dealership that I made. Also, if you put a deposit to hold a car, they WILL NOT reverse the deposit. I called the Sales Manager Dario to get a deposit back on a vehicle because I had a problem with my co-signer not able to sign. Dario then told me it was not a deposit, but it was a down payment and it was not refundable. Then I told him I was going to call my bank and the cops. He then threatened me, saying he was going to get his lawyers involved and this happens all the time. He was pressuring me to come back into the store to deal with them directly. I was not falling for this game. The deposit slip had all different codes on it(another trick), not saying anything if it was non-refundable. The HeadQuarters of NISSAN should be aware of this dealership. It is not a good look for the NISSAN brand. Also, the better business bureau should be aware of this dealership. After all this trouble, I will make them aware. More
