Set up a appointment for 9:45 Saturday morning got there early as soon as service advisor said who’s the vehicle owner for Infiniti there is a 3 to 4 hour wait. Remember that I was changed almost $2000.00 f early as soon as service advisor said who’s the vehicle owner for Infiniti there is a 3 to 4 hour wait. Remember that I was changed almost $2000.00 for their service contract that I was not told they had already included in auto sale and still can’t get vehicle service there because if you have to wait after setting up appointment days in advance Is a waste of time people also work and have a life and it doesn’t include hanging out a dealership half a day for a oil change. On or about May 28, multiple warning lights illuminated on the dashboard of my 2014 Honda Odyssey Touring van. I considered taking the van to a local repair shop, as the warranty had expired. Due to the n on the dashboard of my 2014 Honda Odyssey Touring van. I considered taking the van to a local repair shop, as the warranty had expired. Due to the number of warnings the van had, I decided a dealer would be better suited to deal with the problem. I was both right and wrong. Ed Napleton in Oak Lawn was able to diagnose the problem quickly and told me a piston’s seal had gone bad due to misfiring of some spark plugs and would require a major teardown of the engine in order to repair it. Of course, I heeded their advice as a trusted local business and proceeded with the repair that wound up totaling over $3,600. The repair only took a few days and I picked up the van on June 3. The next few days I noticed fluids were left on my driveway where the van was parked. I reached back out to Ed Napleton to report this and included photos. The advice was that the fluids were likely residual oil from the repair. Based on this advice, I continued to drive the van normally. Our family departed on a road trip to Atlanta on Wednesday June 23. The van made it to Atlanta without incident, but there was still some fluid left on the pavement where I parked the van overnight. Again, I thought nothing of it. The van rode fine during our local travels in Atlanta and without incident. The ride home was completely different. We arrived in the Nashville area after riding on the highway for several hours at highway speeds. Traffic slowed as we travelled through Nashville and the van started to act strangely. I was unable to accelerate, even though I was pressing the accelerator. The car was not engaging in any gear. We were able to pull off to a gas station and assess what was wrong. I pulled the transmission dip stick only to find it almost dry. The goal was to make it to an auto parts dealer and add transmission fluid to try and ride it out and get back home. We pulled out of the gas station and the car would not accelerate. I was able to pull onto a sidewalk out of traffic. My wife called Crest Honda, a Nashville Honda dealer. THEY WERE GREAT!! They referred us to a local towing company and were able to look at the van when it arrived. They determined it would need to be repaired in the morning. My family was stuck in Nashville with no transportation. Luckily, there was a hotel across the street, so we spent the night. Crest Honda was able to find a way to get us back on the road with a temporary fix. They said the transmission would likely need replacement after all the fluid had leaked out. The Nashville technician said a screw was missing from a transmission line and that in his 40 years of repairing Hondas, he had never seen this. This did not sit well with me. We were able to make it back to Chicago without much incident. When we stopped for gas about 40 minutes from home, the transmission light and other warning lights came on. We had to cut our dinner plans short to try and make it back home. Thankfully, the van did not break down and we made it home safe. Upon return to Chicago, we contacted Ed Napleton’s service manager. I decided to give Napleton another chance at making the repair right, so they sent a tow truck and towed the van to Napleton for evaluation and repairs. They determined the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. Napleton replaced the transmission at no charge. They also had to replace a sensor, which caused the van to be late in its return to our family. They promised it would be completed on July 14, but it was not ready until the 16th. We were scheduled to go out of town on the 15th, so we requested a loaner. After some miscommunication, Napleton provided a loaner van at no charge. We used the loaner until our return on Sunday July 18. Napleton did provide a free tank of gas on the loaner, which was unexpected. On Monday July 19, our van was returned to us by Napleton. Another nice touch was that our van had been detailed. We decided not to provide feedback until the van had been on another road trip. We returned from a trip to Indianapolis on July 25. The van ran well and appears to have been completely repaired, at least in the short term. After a disappointing initial repair, Napleton did step up and made good on a failed repair, even though it took longer than expected. More
Worst customer service, took them 3 hours to figure it out that my Rim and tire need to replace, don't have rim in stock and $1100 to replace. I called St Charles Honda and will do the same for $350.
