Edward W. Napleton, opened his first automotive business in 1931 on Chicago's South Side. With a $700 loan, a strong work ethic and a belief in common courtesy, he opened the Napleton Buick Service Station. Francis Napleton, Edward's son, was by his side to help foster the growth of the young business in its early years.
Napleton's first dealership was a DeSoto franchise, and when that brand was discontinued with little warning, Napleton quickly aligned itself with another Chrysler nameplate, Plymouth, eventually being awarded several additional franchises. Edward and Francis both believed in hard work and exceptional customer service, values that they passed down to the next generation of Napletons. Five of Francis' eight children have worked in the auto business their entire lives.
Edward F. ("Ed") Napleton, Francis' son, is a third-generation auto dealer. He began his career as a kid sweeping the floors at the dealership owned by his father and grandfather. He moved up the ranks, serving as a technician, then in sales and finance, and eventually as a general manager. At just 23 years of age, Ed became the youngest car dealer in the United States when he was awarded a Pontiac dealership in Blue Island, Illinois.
Today the Napleton Family operates more than 50 dealerships in four states. What started as a small family-owned business has blossomed into one of the most forward-thinking dealership groups in the country.
Ed's business has grown to include 31 franchises - housed in 15 different locations - in three states. He owns domestic, import and high line franchises, and employs more than 1000 people throughout Illinois, Florida and Missouri. Four of Ed's five children have proudly joined him in pursuing the family business and have a hand in the company's day-to-day operations.

John the manager is extremely condescending, thinks he is so much better than everybody else & this really comes to life with the way he deals with customers. I was in for service and while I was waiting for so much better than everybody else & this really comes to life with the way he deals with customers. I was in for service and while I was waiting for my car to be finished, I popped into the showroom. Intrigued by the different style of the pilot from my 2016, I stopped to ask John a few questions. While he seemed enthusiastic, it was actually very sarcastic! While carrying on a conversation with him, he was murmuring insults under his breath for the amusement of those around him. Now I’ve done business here for over 10 years (6 cars purchased to date) but I will never be returning. Would recommend everybody to patronize a business that treats their customers well. I thought Mr. Napleton’s business motto was different, but I am sadly mistaken. More

The Biggest Thanks To Mike! Mike helped me out for almost a month until we found the perfect car for me. I was torn between different types of Civics, and couldn’t make my mind u Mike helped me out for almost a month until we found the perfect car for me. I was torn between different types of Civics, and couldn’t make my mind up for a few weeks. But Mike remained extremely patient, welcoming me back to Napleton multiple times, making sure all my questions were always answered, and letting me test drive all of the cars that I was interested in until I was sure I had found the one. When I finally decided to buy he did everything he could to ensure that I got my Civic Sport for the price I wanted to pay. There was a small surface scratch on my car when I purchased it, and Mike got me in right away to have it buffed out. He still continues to occasionally reach out and see how everything with the car is. He truly cares about his customers and isn’t one of those typical salesmen who only care about instantly sealing the deal.
