The Price on the Website Isn't the Price We were in the market for a used vehicle. We found one we liked on the Ed Napleton Honda St. Peters website. We went in and test drove a couple vehicl We were in the market for a used vehicle. We found one we liked on the Ed Napleton Honda St. Peters website. We went in and test drove a couple vehicles. After the test drive, we were interested in making an offer. We sat down with the salesman and made an offer that was a few percentage points lower than what was indicated on their website. The salesman came back with the 4 squares showing the website price in the upper left square and then proceeded to ask us which monthly payment we preferred in the lower right box. I said that I wanted to concentrate on the price and asked about our offer. The salesman went back to talk to the Manager again and then said we were too far apart on price. I asked where we would need to be to make the deal. The salesman came back and said that we would have to be about $1000 over what is posted on the website and then showed us a document of what they claim to have invested into the car. I was negotiating off of the advertised price, they were negotiating off of a completely different number that was much higher. We were told that we have to add the Napleton Advantage to the price for $995, which was a non-negotiable. Why advertise a price if you won't sell the car for anything lower that $1000 over the advertised price? Seems like it could be false advertising. Needless to say, we left and found a car at a different dealership. Won't be going back to this one... More
