So there looked like a bunch of salespeople were at the door as we approached and the one "up" asked us what we were interested in and we said a Rav 4. He took us in the showroom and there was one on the door as we approached and the one "up" asked us what we were interested in and we said a Rav 4. He took us in the showroom and there was one on the floor. My husband looked and sat it in and then said we didn't like this basic trim we wanted one with a sunroof. Instead of seating us down and going through the different trim lines and what was included or could be purchased with each we were told to go outside but not before we were asked for our name and number. My husband balked but we were told this was required to see a car so OK he did it. We then said to him we would like to see the top line trim one and he took us over to a car and said this is it. I asked if it was one of the hybrid ones because on the way walking to the car he said 95% of them were hybrid. He said this one was not hybrid, nor did he have the key to the car of the one he was showing us. We asked how we were supposed to "see it" and he kind of gestured there it was. Were we supposed to look through the driver side door to see if we liked it? I really didn't need to look at the outside of a rav 4 which all look alike. Is this the new way to "see" a car? When we asked to sit it in he took us to another rav 4 two cars down and said to sit it that one. By his admission it was not the one we asked to see. When we got disgusted and said forget it, he actually had the audacity to say well you wanted to see one and I showed you one. I'm still flabbergasted that we were treated this way. I don't expect a red carpet but certainly we shouldn't have to piece it together like we did here. They are not the only dealership in town and we will be consulting another Toyota showroom in the hopes that we can do more than just see it while shading our eye through the windows to "see it." More
