It's always been a stressful challenge to buy a car I'm a woman of a certain age.... Certainly old enough to have had lots of car-buying experience! It's always been a stressful challenge to buy a car as a woman. Consequently I don't trust sales people or dealerships in general. So this time, I decided to be prepared, and take my time. I did a lot of research on makes, models, prices, promotions, and dealership inventories. The Ed Martin dealership was my first stop. I was greeted by Mohamed Awad.... We had spoken on the phone before my visit and he was prepared to show me some cars. Mohamed's demeanor was welcoming without being overly enthusiastic. No pressure at all! He listened to me respectfully and took all of the time needed so that I could test drive 4 different cars. He knew that I was shopping around and that I'd done a lot of homework. Truthfully, I didn't intend to buy a car that day. I had another appointment with another sales person at another large dealership the following morning and I wanted to make comparisons and get the best price. I had financing arranged ahead of time with my credit union.... The last car I test drove was more than I intended to spend. But I really liked it. A lot. I showed Mohamed similar cars at a lower price point at the other dealership. He made many trips back and forth to consult with the sales manager and came back with the wrong numbers. Mohamed believed me when I said I had options and I was prepared to leave. He finally asked me if I'd buy the car that day if he could get me the price I specified and I sad yes. He worked so hard and kept me in the loop through the entire process. I drove my new, used 2016 RAV4 XLE home that day. Mohamed made this car-buying experience a very positive one..... The best one ever. That's saying a lot! It was even fun. I left the dealership that day not having felt even a shred of anxiety or frustration. I recommend Mohamed Awad without any hesitation. It seemed like every place I went they had they same type of sale people..in your face and trying to do nothing more then sell you a car. Now I will also state I understand that is their job but show some compassion as not everyone likes to have some call them every day, hassle and negotiate over the purchase of a car. That said I rarely if ever will write a review but I finally found a reason too. I wanted to share my experience for others who feel the same way about buying a car. If you do go see Brenda Justak at Ed Martin who frankly will make your car buying experience amazing. From the time I walked in right be her desk (She did open the door for me and my kids) to the time I left with a new/used car was nothing short of fantastic. To wrap it all up I will state if you want to buy a vehicle from someone who truly cares about you I would highly recommend Brenda at Ed Martin Toyota. She did not know me before last week and I have already received two notes from her asking how the vehicle is working out. The best thing is she remembered my son was leaving for college and she took the time to ask how I was doign with him moving away....again she cares. The funny thing is I have told dozens of people this same story that I am writing down right now and each time I am amazed at how comfortable she made me feel....and to top it all off she found me an unbelievable car that fit into my budget. John called and emailed me with detailed information on the car I found online. John arranged the best possible price on the car and the general sales manager, Eric Sarjeant, sealed the deal with giving me the best prices on accessories and my trade in. When I picked up my car, John Goodpaster spent a lot of time with me explaining the car's features and programing some applications. He even followed up with a phone call a few days later to ask if I had any questions or needed addition help. I'm an electronically challenged senior and John's above and beyond help was very much appreciated! More
