WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!!!!!!! I have never experienced the professionalism and expertise shown by Adrian Zurita and Guy Lewis at the EASTERN AUTOMOTIVE Group! Heck, let's just thro I have never experienced the professionalism and expertise shown by Adrian Zurita and Guy Lewis at the EASTERN AUTOMOTIVE Group! Heck, let's just throw in a mention for the entire staff! I don't often take the time to write reviews but my experience at Eastern Motors was so extraordinary that I couldn't help myself. So here it goes.... Stemming from a bad deal given to me at a dealership that I will not mention by name (I'll only share that it's down the street from Eastern) I was upside down in my current vehicle (negative equity). I was not happy with my car and wanted something else. So, I started my search for a SUV. I had visited three other dealerships but wasn't happy with the service or what they had to offer. After the third dealership, I was really frustrated and had decided to stay in my current SUV and deal with my ill feelings about it. One day, my favorite Eastern Motors commercial came on and I decided to put another foot forward so I went to their website and filled out my information. Immediately, I was contacted by James from the VA office and he actually listened and had a honest conversation with me. Even so, I wasn't truly convinced that I would find a good deal or someone willing to work with my situation without asking for a ridiculous down payment. (1 dealership asked for $18K) James called and emailed me to confirm the appointment and also followed up the morning of the appointment. I appreciated the follow up because I had changed my mind but I didn't tell him. :-) In short, I felt defeated. Well, I did make it to the dealership and my experience from the time I parked was one of the best that I have had in 32 years! I was greeted in the parking lot by Adrian Zurita. He was cordial and able to put me at ease. His manager, Guy, came over and introduced himself and we got to work. I explained my situation and Adrian listened and told me not to worry. Once I picked out the SUV of my DREAMS, Guy got to work with the banks. To make a long story short, I got the deal that I wanted and drove home in a vehicle that I loved. An Overall Excellence in Service and Sales I must preface that I work in customer service and sales. When I arrived at the Eastern Automotive Group in Lanham, MD, I was greeted as I exited my I must preface that I work in customer service and sales. When I arrived at the Eastern Automotive Group in Lanham, MD, I was greeted as I exited my vehicle by several Eastern employees. Mr. Lenard Thompson greeted me and asked what brings me in. He was very professional, had a great positive energy and he focused on why I came in. When I shared the only reason I was in was due to paying my credit card payment online and a pre-qualified offer for $30K for a vehicle through Eastern. I was curious and wanted to see what Eastern had to offer as my last vehicle experience was not a good one as I was in a situation where I had to purchase vehicle and paid the price for the experience. I shared that I was not in the market for a new vehicle as I only had less than one year to pay off my existing vehicle. I want to be perfectly clear that the one thing that stood out about me experience in purchasing a vehicle from Eastern was the awarding winning customer care. I did not feel haggled, I did not feel pressured to purchase a vehicle, I felt that Mr. Lenard Thompson had a genuine interest ensuring that I was presented with the best benefits of a automobile based on my current vehicle, my relocation, and even, my new employment. He took the time to listen to me and to put me first. Something that is often missing from sales driven environments. During this whole visit, time was not a factor, what I call southern hospitality was extended by everyone I came in contact with. Even when the Sales Manager interacted with me, I did not feel pressure to purchase a vehicle, but again was given the benefits of what would help me in transportation. The Sales Manager worked with me and did not cause me to move out of my comfort zone of my budget. I shared, and Mr. Lenard Thompson and the Sales Manager listed when I said, "I teach financial literacy, I am disciplined and if this is not in my budget, I will not do this as I cannot teach financial literacy then do just the opposite." Everything worked out, I test drove a vehicle that I truly was not planning to purchase. It was in the same vehicle line that I have driven the past ten years, Ford. To mention that I am satisfied is a huge YES. To say that I would recommend Eastern to others, YES. To share my car experience along the lines of sales and services, a GIGANTIC yes and this is directly a result of Mr. Lenard Thompson presenting an "Excellence in service first, customer care next, and non-haggled sales finally." I had only seen Easterns commercial on television, and now understand that from my experience they follow the golden rule, "treating others the way they want to be treated." Bad experience, didn't leave with what I wanted I should have read the signs a little better, but I was eager to get a car. It's just not a positive image when your salesman is taking personal call I should have read the signs a little better, but I was eager to get a car. It's just not a positive image when your salesman is taking personal calls and seems disinterested when speaking to him. Did a test drive and he asked me to pull over so he could get a snack... a little unusual. When signing the paperwork he assured me that without GAP insurance I wouldn't be able to get a loan, everywhere I looked it said that GAP insurance was optional, which I found very misleading. I asked for the CARFAX report and he didn't give it to me either, I should've pressed. He even recommended that I waffle some information on my credit application. I got the car I needed but knowing that the AC wasn't working, so they told me that if I come the next day then they will fix it in 20 minutes. As I drove away and got on the highway I also noticed that there was a rattling noise on the engine when it got to speeds higher than 60mph. Came back the next day not sure about the purchase and wanting to return the vehicle, this is an investment that I was loosing trust in, either as a car or with the dealership. Somehow by dropping the price they convinced me to go ahead with the purchase, which I reluctantly did. Since I was at the dealer, they took the car to fix the AC, again I got reassured that it was 20 minutes. Every 25 minutes they'd assured me that the car was on it's wait "5 more minutes", "It will be here and 10 minutes"... that lasted 3 hours. Fuming mad and 1 hour late for work, I left without the issue being fixed. Came back a couple of days later sure I wanted to return the car. Not only did I still have the initial issues, but I also found out that the passenger airbag stayed off even when there was a passenger on the seat. When I told them about the airbag they reacted defensively and nonchalantly, the salesman assured me that the car had passed regulations. Despite all this, I wasn't able to return the car, but they did give me the chance to exchange it. But how would I know that the car they sold me would be safe? I found another car, not what I needed but by then I just wanted to get the process over. Still not a good deal and there are some worrying details that they missed. I expect a used car to have some kinks, like the cruise control not working, but giving me a car with no floor mats is a little worrying. That and the disinterested salesman left a very bad taste in my mouth with a car that it is not really what I needed. Just not a good experiece More
Good place I went in to look at a Cadillac SRX and was greet by Paul. He was easy going, knowledgeable and full of smiles. He and the manager, Tim, did all they could to make my sale happen, but ultimately it was my decision not to purchase as this time. When I am seriously ready, I will go to Easterns. More
