I have bought numerous cars at Paul Conte Chevrolet over the years and recommended many friends and relatives to them. My relationship with them has always been excellent. Whether it's been sales, service, the years and recommended many friends and relatives to them. My relationship with them has always been excellent. Whether it's been sales, service, or financing the experience has always been nothing but awesome. I am always treated as a welcomed customer everytime I walk through their doors. I wouldn't think of buying a new Chevrolet anywhere else! More
I asked them about financing options three weeks ago, they waited two weeks to tell me I had not qualified for the loan so I asked them to tell me what I needed in cash down instead to purchase the vehic they waited two weeks to tell me I had not qualified for the loan so I asked them to tell me what I needed in cash down instead to purchase the vehicle. The saleswoman became belligerent immediately saying she was not able to help me. She then got up to get her manager to "talk to me". He sat down and began to interrogate me as to how I got there. What followed was a bizarre sequence where they appeared to go into some mobster movie routine with two bald guys emerging out of the corners. The manager was a burly man who used his size to try to intimidate me into listening to him. When my husband stepped in he backed off of me and decided to get into it with him. A little scary actually but since they had all been so rude and unresponsive as service people who seemed more interested in pissing on people than selling cars, at first I thought maybe it was because of my ethnicity but I quickly realized no, they are just unprofessional assholes who want people they can bully into buying cars with no questions or concerns about a thing...I am a New York City girl born and raised with some good old fashioned manners and I am much too old for that outer borough and LI territorial bullshit some people are into for sport. I will shop local or electronically from now on! YMMV More
I bought my Tahoe in late September of 2010 and started having electrical problems early this year. I drove it into Conte where I purchased the car and they refused to help me for 3 weeks and were extremel having electrical problems early this year. I drove it into Conte where I purchased the car and they refused to help me for 3 weeks and were extremely rude. I called and spoke to the manager and he just referred me back to the service department. I wrote directly to Mr. Conte and did not even get the courtesy of a call. They were unwilling to react quickly so I finally broke down in Pennsylavania and had a dealer out there help me. The car is going back under the lemon law but the experience I had with Conte is unforgivable. I have heard from others that they have had bad experiences with Conte. I would strongly recommend against doing business with Conte. More
I had a problem with my 2009 HHR. I called the service dept. and they told me to come in the next day. I tend to stay away from "dealerships" because I have seen them create more problems then they fix, b dept. and they told me to come in the next day. I tend to stay away from "dealerships" because I have seen them create more problems then they fix, but I was plesantly suprised. I got in at 7:30 and was out by 11:30. There was no charge for the repair as it was covered under warranty. I also took advantage of an "oil change special". They really changed my impression abou dealer service. More
I went down to Paul Conte Chevy in Freeport on a Sunday morning. I am (or was) interested in a 2011 Camaro and needed to see what the different trim lines have in them. The salesman barely spoke a word to morning. I am (or was) interested in a 2011 Camaro and needed to see what the different trim lines have in them. The salesman barely spoke a word to me and pointed at the different models as if staring would explain it to me. I said that I wanted to drive one, so I could see how it feels. He said, and I quote, "Well, today is a sunday - we don't test drive on Sunday. And we don't test drive Camaros at all." At all? Really? I walked off and told him (politely, still) to have a good day, and spun while walking and yelled out that this was the first dealership that had no interest in selling me a car. THIS SALESMAN TURNED BACK AND TOLD ME, quote, "I DON'T GIVE A S*IT." Yeah, you heard me right. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT PAUL CONTE CHEVY. Mark More

5 star service! Whenever I bring my car away, (for everything from simple oil changes, to recall service, to radio upgrades,) I'm always greeted with a "Mr. Zmuda," and a "Sir," whenever I'm addressed everything from simple oil changes, to recall service, to radio upgrades,) I'm always greeted with a "Mr. Zmuda," and a "Sir," whenever I'm addressed. That shows Class! (No, I don't expect it, but it's still nice to see, and that's what makes me go back.) Quality of work is generally very good. There was only one occasion when I'd come in for an Onstar upgrade that they "fixed" my working Onstar radio instead of upgrading it. (Whoops - operated on the wrong leg... SORRY... :) ) That's the ONLY blunder I've ever encountered from them. Their friendliness is top notch. They smile, and talk to me like a human being. I don't know much about cars, so when they explain things, they do so in terms I can understand. But they do it with a PASSION! (You can tell that these guys like their cars.) Pricing is fair and generally comparable (sp?) with other dealerships' plans. An oil-change for a Suburban (large SUV) goes for about $35 for the basic oil change (not the "rotate the tires, change the belts, install new wipers," scheduled maintenance plan, which I BELIEVE goes for something like $369 or something like that, but still the $35 oil change IS a maintenance oil change, and they get it right - unlike my mom's car who went in for an oil change and a tune up, and for the past 3 years, the accelleration has been sluggish (slow to respond) at times.) Overall, I like bringing my car to the dealership where I bought it. I get the oil changed about every 3000 miles (give or take,) and I feel that both the caliber of TECHNICAL service and CUSTOMER service are above par. More
