I live in McKinney. I drive across town, passing two other VW dealerships, and take it to Rusty Wallis to get all my service done. The reason is the level of service by Jeff Hagan. There are very few ti other VW dealerships, and take it to Rusty Wallis to get all my service done. The reason is the level of service by Jeff Hagan. There are very few times in my life that i can remember ever getting the level of service that I received working with Jeff. When talking to Jeff you know your getting the truth about your vehicles needs and not getting taken advantage of. The team at Rusty Wallis is a cut above the competition. Thank you again Jeff. See you again soon, sons turning 16 soon. John Eastwood More
Just wanted to say that I am soooo glad Jeff Fagan is back at this location. He has been my service manager since 2006 and I will continue to buy Volkswagen vehicles just because of his excellent service back at this location. He has been my service manager since 2006 and I will continue to buy Volkswagen vehicles just because of his excellent service and character. These days in time all anyone cares about is quantity rather than QUALITY service and Jeff defines that "Quality Service" that consumers look for. He has taken such great care of me and my car over the years that I have followed him from Rusty Wallis to Boardwalk and back even though I live in Forney. He does business the right way and the industry needs more individuals like him to run a GREAT COMPANY. He's personable, honest, and takes pride in his job and that's what I look for in a service manager. Not often do I find people out there like him so I am super glad to have him as my service manager!!!! More
When I started driving to work that morning, the battery light came on. I was certain my alternator was broken which led to most lights being on by the time the car finally died on the way home. Kurts took light came on. I was certain my alternator was broken which led to most lights being on by the time the car finally died on the way home. Kurts took only a cursory history of the problem and mostly focused on the lights and, of course, on the diagnostics fee. He did not understand that the lights were on because the system shut down due to discharging battery. He called me later to say the oxygen cencors need replacement, ABS system needed work and all that because there were some codes in the computer indicating that. I tried to tell him again that the alternator was broken and it lead to codes being set in the computer. He said I had to replace the battery before they can diagnose anything. The battery was not even one month old. Kurts was undeterred. I asked to speak with a manager and got Dan. He informed me that VW cannot diagnose anything until the battery is replaced. My take on this is if you need to install the battery to diagnose, do it. After you make the diagnosis, you then tell me what is wrong and we would go from there. I informed Dan that the battery is just one month old and if it needs to be replaced he would have to go with me to Pepboys and convince them that the battery was bad. We ended Friday on this tense note. Next day, Saturday, after spending close to a couple of hours at Pepboys and running various tests until they found one that showed some abnormalities in the battery, we finally got a replacement battery. Once VW installed the new battery (and could not blame the problems on the battery any longer), they confirmed my diagnosis that it was the alternator. Of course they did not have the alternator in stock but the price would be $900. I got it from Autozone for $180, delivered it to VW that same Saturday. They could not install it on Saturday and finished the job on Monday. Instead of $900 I paid $180 for the part and $132 for labor. Saved myself almost $600. When I got the car, the battery cover was broken, the battery was installed crooked and was held down by only one corner of the barket, the day-time running lights stopped working, the lights inside the car when I open the doors stopped working too. They used to have different service managers and in all 10 years I went to them, I never had any problems. I don't know what they did to the old service managers but they have now all new people and the quality of service suffered tremendously. Avoid them, if you can. More
Scott is by far the most knowledgeable and helpful salesman I have encountered. He not only anticipated my needs but he also helped appease my wife who can be a bit hard to placate. I return for all my service needs to Dimitry Finkler at Rusty Wallis Volkswagen in Dallas, Texas because he has taken great care of my (first Volkswagen) vehicle for the past nine years. In doing so I plac Rusty Wallis Volkswagen in Dallas, Texas because he has taken great care of my (first Volkswagen) vehicle for the past nine years. In doing so I place a lot of trust in him, directly, because of the way he handles any problem or maintenance on my 2001 Cabrio. Volkswagen should know he represents your company with professionalism, courtesy and consideration. More
