It took this dealership 4 business days to respond to my inquiry about a Jetta or Rabbit. By the time they got back to me we had already purchased a different brand. I had a VW before, purchased new from a Atamian VW in Tewksbury, MA - they were bad too. And, while on a business trip, I stopped by another VW in Houston, TX a couple of months ago and I barely got the time of day from the sales rep. Back to Rusty Wallis: just bad customer service. In this economy I think they need to jump a lot higher when a customer calls. So, no VW in my garage. More
I was looking for a Tiguan in a particular color combination for my wife. We live in Tulsa, OK and our local dealer said they could not find one anywhere in the US. I put out an inquiry on cars.com to 3 dealerships in the Dallas area and all 3 had the exact vehicle I was looking for. All 3 responded with an automated e-mail thanking me for my inquiry. The difference was that Ilia picked up the phone early the next morning and called us. The initial conversation was good and within a week we had a deal worked out for a 2009 Tiguan subject to a visual inspection and a test drive. I booked a cheap SWA ticket into Love Field and Ilia offered to have someone pick me up at the airport. Fantastic. The day before I was to arrive Ilia test drove the car to make sure it was OK and found it had an intermittent fuel delivery problem. Rather than have the suspected faulty part replaced he obtained an identical car from another dealer rather than risk me driving a car back to OK that may have a problem. Unbelievable. The car was beautifully detailed ready for my inspection. After a test drive I filled out the minimum of paperwork which they had already preprinted in expectation of my arrival. Within 45 minutes I was driving off in the Tiguan. 4.5 hours of driving and I was back in Tulsa. Car is great to drive. My wife loves it. I never thought buying a car could be this enjoyable. More
This is the third car my wife and I have purchased from Rusty Wallis and Ilia Pauloo... for good reason. We had a pretty slimy experience earlier in the day trying to negotiate a used Prius at a Toyota dealership and finally gave up and went back to Volkswagen to see what they had. After spending two evenings with us, Ilia located the exact car we wanted (alpine gray Tiguan S) in Houston and had it transported to Dallas while providing us a nice loaner Passat in the mean time. One of the great things about Ilia is not just that he's works hard to get you what you want, he has an exhaustive knowledge of all the vehicles, packages, and financing options. If you're the kind of person who wants all the available information to make a decision without feeling pushed in a certain direction, he's great to work with. This experience, especially in comparison to the one at Toyota, has pretty much convinced us that we'll probably be Volkswagen customers for life. More
I live in Amarillo, Texas. I was searching for a 6 speed manual (and only a manual) 2009 Jetta TDI. According to Internet records, only a couple of dealers in the entire state had the exact interior/exterio manual (and only a manual) 2009 Jetta TDI. According to Internet records, only a couple of dealers in the entire state had the exact interior/exterior color schemes that I was looking for in a 6 speed manual 09 TDI. I sent an e-mail to Ilia Pauloo at the Rusty Wallis VW dealership in Garland, TX. He responded promptly. Although he no longer had in stock the exact interior/exterior color scheme I wanted in an 09 6 speed manual, he jumped through the hoops and obtained one of the few remaining in the entire state from another dealer. He had the car brought to his dealership and the entire transaction preperation was conducted via a few e-mails and a couple of telephone calls. On the day of the transaction, all paperwork was prepared and conclued without undue delay. From the initial contact via Internet and a follow-up phone call, until I drove away in my new TDI, Mr. Pauloo was focused and did not waste my time. He was very professional and service oriented. He helped me get the exact car I wanted even though it was not in his immedaite inventory and he made me aware that he was willing to do that from the very start. I bought a car from this dealership and for the fitst three weeks I have had a loaner car for two,they have been dishonest about how they were trying to take care of the problem, told me that I should ed three weeks I have had a loaner car for two,they have been dishonest about how they were trying to take care of the problem, told me that I should edpect my vw to rattle, squeak and squeal. My car has sat at their dealership with no attention from anyone (their words) When I suggested that I call vw to complain Russ the GM stated " Go right ahead, they can not do anything, no discipline will take place, your wasting your time" This dealerships web site has a definition of Integrity on it, they have not learned what the word means. This dealership has shown me that the sterotype of the "dis-honest" car sales man is true and they have truly acted in a way that once I bought the car they do not care anymore. DO NOT be fooled by the sales pitch they offer it is a lie. Like I said I was told more than once how my car was getting the best attention possible, Their own service manager ( I had to contact them, they did not contact me about the status of my car) called me and stated that my car had just been sitting and he did not even know it was in for repair. If I failed to mention that I had the car for 6 days and it was in the shop, after a week I had it for 2 more days and it was back in the shop, and I was told by one of the sales managers " well it has not left your stranded yet" Makes me feel great after just buying the car. Run from this dealership. More
