Ilia (internet sales) was extremely straight forward and up front about everything that i had questions about. He was very helpful, and prompt to reply to my questions through e mail. I'm the type that like up front about everything that i had questions about. He was very helpful, and prompt to reply to my questions through e mail. I'm the type that likes to take my time during a big purchase, such as a car, and Ilia was more than patient with me. Everyone at the dealership remembered my face when i would return to test drive the same vehicle that i had purchased, and they could not have been more courteous. To everyone at the dealership: Well Done, and thank you for helping me get in my dream car (Hummer) More
This was the best experience I have ever had buying a car! No pressure or those "I'll see what I can do" sighs. And they didn't try to sell me anything I didn't want or need. Scott was always available car! No pressure or those "I'll see what I can do" sighs. And they didn't try to sell me anything I didn't want or need. Scott was always available through email or text messages so I had my questions answered really quick - no waiting for a call back or any of that mess. I would gladly buy another VW from Rusty Wallis! More
I know folks have said some pretty kind words about this dealership but i am sorry i have to differ. Dealerships are not nice places to begin with. There is the financing where they try to make money from dealership but i am sorry i have to differ. Dealerships are not nice places to begin with. There is the financing where they try to make money from you, the loan terms, the ridiculous trade in values etc etc. you really are getting bombarded from all sides. I will give kudos to Iilya for getting the car i wanted from Austin. This is not really that big a deal as Dealer inter-trades happen ALL the time. but he did work with me to find what i wanted. I also worked with Scott Pettinger as well while Illya was out of the office. i didnt find too much sales pressure to buy the car which was nice. Here is where it gets tough. I asked for a factory DVD Nav system in my car. I worked most through emails with Iiyla and have all this documented (not that it mattered). He told me my car had a Factory DVD Nav system. As a layman, this told me a VW Factory installed unit. When i got the vehicle it was not at all. it was a crappy Rosen unit. If anyone knows anything about Rosen, go ahead and first try to find any information on them. Second, the unit doesnt perform well. When i took possession of the vehicle i have to take some responsibility. I should have just left the car there. But i took it home. Illya immediately started backpedaling telling me he was sure he told me it was an aftermarket unit. He did not and i have all documentation which i proved to him. He started telling me this unit was just as good as VW's unit and in some ways even better. If you do a technical comparison (i am a computer programmer) there is NO comparison. In the end, Iilya said he couldnt help me and turned it over to Scott the Sales Manager. I never did hear from Mr. Scott and i doubt i will. its like they just want me and all this to go away. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS TRAP. Rusty Wallis is selling aftermarket DVD units and marketing them as "factory" when they are actually "factory-look". They will not work with you on this at all. I believe this is very poor of them and wish i had gone elsewhere. UPDATE - 07/10/2009 After working with the Sales team at Rusty Wallis i am happy and proud to say we have worked out a deal where my stock radio has been reinstalled and the money paid for the aftermarket DVD GPS unit refunded in total. The Sales Team did all they could in ensuring the customer was satisfied. I would only add however in being as clear as possible during the contract negotiations. I would also suggest using better quality suppliers and products in Aftermarket installations. Both measures would result in better results. More
This was a great experience for me. I have not bought a car from a dealership in over nine years and I was actually afraid to go. I saw a Volkwagen Passat on cars.com and I loved it! I didnt know how my cr car from a dealership in over nine years and I was actually afraid to go. I saw a Volkwagen Passat on cars.com and I loved it! I didnt know how my credit was and if I would be able to purchase one. I gave the information to my dad and he called and spoke with Armando Medina. We set up an appointment for the next day. Armando followed up with us around the time we were supposed to be there (per my dad's request) to confirm. I found this to be a great thing because he was showing genuine interest. When we arrived Armando was waiting for us. He had the car that we inquired about pulled out and ready for us to test drive. He even had the car running with the AC on which was awesome since it was 100 degrees outside! My credit report didnt come out great but Armando and John Power(who was in the financing department) worked with me until the end and although I am paying a little more than I wanted to for my monthly car payment, I dont feel that I got a bad deal. I believe that the people here did all they could do to get me the best deal possible. Everyone was very friendly and professional. I even got a call from John to come back the next day and and re-sign some paperwork. At this point I was really nervous, but all that changed when I got there and was informed that they had found another company to finance me and not only would my monthly car payment be lower, but I got an outstanding warranty package!! Thanks Armando and John for all of your help and for making this experience a good one. I would definitely buy another car from this dealership. Thanks, Tequila Fluellen More
After 21 years I was ready to buy another car. I didn’t want to use a dealership. I didn’t want to put up with the sales people. Then I found a car on the autotrader web site that seemed so perfect for want to use a dealership. I didn’t want to put up with the sales people. Then I found a car on the autotrader web site that seemed so perfect for me. But it was at a dealership (Rusty Wallis Volkswagen)! I just knew that car was destined to be mine. Even though I was dreading what I would have to go through to get it, I called and asked for Scott like the listing said to do. He confirmed the car was still there so my son and I went to see it. Well we hit the jackpot as far as I was concerned. The car was wonderful and Scott Pittenger Internet/Fleet Manager was wonderful too. There was no hassle about the price. I got a real fair deal on my trade-in. Scott offered to take care of minor things I saw on this 2006 Honda Civic car. When I left with it, the car was like brand new. Really! Scott is easy going and a caring person. As a customer I found him to be honorable and fair with regard to everything. I’d use Scott again in a heart beat. He made my car purchase a 5 star event! Jeff was a pleasure to work with. We couldn't have asked for a better salesman. We purchased a CC sport. He went over the car with us in detail about as good as you possibly can. We went to the dealership b for a better salesman. We purchased a CC sport. He went over the car with us in detail about as good as you possibly can. We went to the dealership because we liked the car. We left the dealership loving the car and that credit goes directly to Jeff. We were hesitant about going to the dealership because we didn't know what type of salesman we would end up with. Little did we know we would get the best one and our time there would be enjoyable. We look forward to doing future business with Jeff & Volkswagen. THANKS, Tina Gonzales Johnny Navarrete More

Car dealerships aren't anyone's favorite establishments. That said, as far as dealerships go, this one is all right, but not fantastic. It's probably the best one we've experienced so far, but it still had That said, as far as dealerships go, this one is all right, but not fantastic. It's probably the best one we've experienced so far, but it still had some drawbacks that didn't make us very happy. We were looking for a fairly quick and easy trip to trade in our lease for a new model. And, surprisingly, it was quick and easy, around 2 1/2 to 3 hours, and was relatively hassle-free. We were treated well and were made to believe we were getting a killer deal. Scott estimated that there was one payment remaining on our current lease and told us that the dealership would make that payment for us as incentive to enter into a new lease. We inquired several times about mileage and the possibility of an overage, and no one was able to tell us what the limit was, whether we'd gone over, or how much it might cost. He assured us, however, that there would be no further charges for that particular lease unless the vehicle inspection report showed that we needed to do any repairs. Scott called the inspection company and arranged for them to come and do the inspection on our car and said they would contact us with the results. Satisfied with our experience, we took our new Jetta home. A week went by and we never heard back about the inspection. Several phone calls to Scott later, we finally found out the inspection had been performed and no further action was needed. Another week passed, and we received a bill in the mail from Volkswagen Credit indicating we owed over $1,100 for the final payments and overage on the mileage. Highly concerned, we contacted Scott. We were able to get him on the phone to confirm that they would still make the final payment for us, but failed to answer or return followup calls to confirm the exact amount. Finally, we had to physically go to the dealership to find Scott to get some clarification. He informed us that since WE "told" him we only had 1 payment remaining, that was all they would take care of. When reminded that HE was the one who estimated only one remaining payment, he basically indicated that they were not responsible for that oversight. He also would not acknowledge that we had asked repeatedly about mileage, that no one would give us an answer, or that he had instead assured us that there would be no additional charges. I understand having to pay for overage according to the contract, but we repeatedly asked for clarification so that we could be prepared and make an informed decision on whether to trade in or keep the car as our budget is tight, but our question on that was ignored again and again. So now we're stuck with a significant payment we can't afford and weren't expecting on a car we no longer possess. Scott was a very nice guy and made the leasing experience very pleasant initially. He even threw in free rubber floor mats which usually go for about $99. Sadly, though, he also proved by not returning phone calls and not following through on promises that dealerships only care about roping you in, and once they have you they stop trying to please you and rarely keep the promises they make. This is probably the better of the Volkswagen dealerships in the area, though, so I do recommend it if you're looking for a Volkswagen in Dallas. You will probably get good service, just be wary of anything that sounds too good to be true. Just remember, dealerships will tell you anything (or omit anything) to make a sale. More
