I traveled from Far North Fort Worth to East Dallas to find the car I was interested. I made an appointment with Gabriel Perez to see the used car I found online. I bought a new 2013 Jetta TDI on October 10th. Less than a week later, we had to return the car because there was a huge puddle of oil under it!!. The service department at Rusty Wallis VW said that the turbo charger was defective and would have to be replaced. They said that they had found a small amount of oil in the exhaust, but that no oil was in the engine. Mechanics that I have talked to have told me that oil in the exhaust could cause problems with the catalytic converter in the future. I told the dealership that I had paid for a new, NON-DEFECTIVE car and that I wanted them to take back the defecive car and replace it with a new one. The dealership said no, that they could not take the car back because it had been titled by the State of Texas. I told them that I would be happy to sell them back their defective car and sign the title over to them and then buy a different car. They didn't comment on that plan. Their "solution" was to elevate the situation to VW, who "solved" the problem by extending the warranty for an additional 2 years or 24k miles. I cannot believe this happened. We have bought multiple cars from the Rusty Wallis dealerships. That made absolutely NO difference in this situation. The answer from the beginning, from everyone at the dealership, was just a flat No, we aren't going to take the defective car back that we just sold you. Too bad for me. I am shocked that this could even happen. I was sold a brand new car by that had to have a major part replaced in less than a week! I'm telling everyone I know. More

Gabriel was a great salesman- very charming and well-informed about all of the features on the VW Eos Lux I bought, even though it was 3 years old and had only been on the lot a day or two. I compared prices on-line after the test drive and this was a better deal. They even put it through their normal prep after I bought it, at no extra charge- they took out the shopping cart dents and even replaced the tires! (Not that the old ones looked bad to me.) We saved enough that buying the extended warranty didn't hurt too much- I never buy those things, but the Eos has a very complicated retractable hardtop so it seemed the wisest course. We did not have a trade-in so I can't speak to that issue. Overall, I am very pleased with the experience, and I could not be happier with my "new" Eos! More
