Hello John, I want to take the time to explain why we worked this car deal, the way we did.. Most of our customers that have pre-approvals, inform us, right away.. We did not know that you had been pre-approved until after we worked the payments. When we look at someones credit, we base our payments off of what our banks will do.. If you would have told us upfront that you were approved thru your bank, then we would have worked the payments off of their rate. As far as a deposit, we were wanting to hold the car for you.. We did have another customer that showed up shortly after you, but we held him off till you made your decision. The other customer did purchase the car. Whenever we take a deposit, we take the car off of the market till that customer decides to buy the car. Its just a respect that we give the customer, who leaves the deposit. If the finance came back at 8.9 or 9.9 or 10.9 this explanation would be okay. He came back at over 17 percent. I know the dealer adds percentage to the buy rate, but that much is rediculous. 6.9 percent to over 17 is or should be illegal. I've already consulted with a consumer attorney and I'll meet with her Monday morning to see what my options are so you'll never be allowed to do this to a less informed buyer. I feel like you tryed to rob me. If my wife had shown up to buy this car instead of me, you just might have. If I can find a 6.9 percent loan online in 5 mins, your finance manager can find better. He knew what he was doing when he came in the room and tried to get me to agree to more than 17 percent. To wide of a gap for a professional to calm ignorance. He knew the buy rate was 6.9 before he even came into the room to speak with me. He just didn't know I did As well.

Hello John, My name is Robert Kersh, I am the General Manager here at Rusty Wallis VW. I am sorry we made you feel like we were trying to "rob" you. I can say that is absolutely not the case. We have never quoted a price we would not honor. You can finance the vehicle wherever you'd like. Finance is not as objective as you seem to think it is. CapOne or many other lending institutions might quote you something and give us a completely different quote. Typically the finance manager evaluates the customers credit and makes a judgement call on what rate he thinks he can secure for the customer. After agreeing to terms he then goes about trying to secure that rate. Sometimes he gets a better rate and sometimes it comes back higher. We then contact the customer and let them know what is going on and move forward based on what the customer wants to do. I'm sorry our finance manager made a judgement your rate would be higher than you had secured for yourself. It may not have been his judgement, he may have received a higher rate at the time of your deal. I'm not completely sure of the exact circumstances. My main point is you could have bought the car at the price you were quoted. Pricing and financing are two separate things. Any customer can buy a car here at the price agreed too and finance it anywhere they prefer. John I am truly sorry we made you feel the way we did.
