We purchased a pre-owned GM Certified Chevy Silverado. Our salesman was Chris Ringkamp. Chris jumped thru every hoop that we asked him to jump thru. His follow-up and communication throughout the process Our salesman was Chris Ringkamp. Chris jumped thru every hoop that we asked him to jump thru. His follow-up and communication throughout the process was excellent. We came to Elco with previous negative experiences from other dealers, so we weren't exactly easy-to-deal with customers. Our salesman, Chris Ringkamp did an excellent job and we bought the truck because he was professional, courteous and had excellent follow-up. Our experience in finance with Sveta and in Service with Jeff Lewis, John and Service Tech, Al were also very positive. We would purchase another car/truck from Chris at Elco and would recommend Elco based on our experience. More
I've had two terrible experiences here in the past few months. I never had a reason to dislike Elco, but they've done everything they could to make me never come back. First experience: I got rear-end months. I never had a reason to dislike Elco, but they've done everything they could to make me never come back. First experience: I got rear-ended in my z28. I decided to take it to the closest dealer for the re-paint job. I figured the dealer could do the best job color matching the paint. While working things out with the insurance company, I went to Elco just to get an appraisal. They quoted me 750 dollars just to repaint my rear bumper. Kinda high I thought. After I finally got my insurance money (250 bucks) and the insurance company fought things out with them, they caved and decided to do it for that price. At the cheap price Elco really treated my car like a "filler" job. Working on it when it was convinent for them. It took them 5 days to repaint my bumper (excuse after excuse). Mind you I take pretty nice car of my car. When I went to pick it up I noticed an obvious flaw in the paint job. A huge crack in the finish. After a little arguing they agreed to repaint it. After a few more days, I went to pick it up. I didnt notice this time... but after about a week I noticed yet another crack in the paint. I give up with this body shop. I'll live with it. Second experience: Went to pick up some rocker arm bolts for my 96 v6 camaro. After waiting in the parts line for about 20 minutes (1 customer in front of me) I got my turn to speak with their parts attendant. I was nothing but polite but the man behind the counter made it his business to let me know that he knew everything and I was nothing but a dumb 27 year old. When he finally agreed that I had the right part number, he proceeded to let me know that the price for a set of bolts was going to be 40 bucks and they wouldnt be there until next week and that I had to order 15 (would not sell them individually). Who needs 15 rocker arm bolts anyway? I went home and ordered them from paceperformanceparts.com for 16 bucks to my door. Long story short, Elco must be doing plenty of business, cause they're not trying to hard to win new customers - especially not this one who's looking to buy a new SS Camaro. More

We bought a used Chevrolet Silverado in 03/10. The salesman was very nice and courteous. We felt that we go a very good price on our truck. We purchased the GM extended bumper to bumper warranty. W salesman was very nice and courteous. We felt that we go a very good price on our truck. We purchased the GM extended bumper to bumper warranty. We were told by the finance person that this warranty was the exact same as that of a brand new vehicle. No out of pocket expense. WRONG!!! This is correct for the power train warranty, but there is a $100 deductible for everything else. We feel like the man was dishonest, as we asked him specific questions, and he repeatedly told us that there would be no out of pocket expense. So....I'm just saying..... More
Elco's service department has a pattern, at least in my experience of recommending expensive services each time I go in. Recently I had a major tune-up and they recommended new valve cover gaskets at a pr experience of recommending expensive services each time I go in. Recently I had a major tune-up and they recommended new valve cover gaskets at a price of $1000. There has never been any evidence of leakage. Two weeks later I had a coolant leak. It required a couple of gaskets and oh, by the way, change the water pump. Total bill $1200. At that time they also recommended new head gaskets ($4500), replace side maker light ($85)(which I replaced my self in 15 minutes), flush the brakes ($135), flush the power steering ($100), and drain and refill the tires with nitrogen. They stopped short of a precision floor mat reallignment. The unknowledgible and unwary can easily be sucked into expensive and possibly completely unnecessary repairs. More
I have purchased 4 cars from this dealership and have recommended several friends which also purchased vehicles. Everyone I dealt with there was wonderful (sales and service). I bought a new Chevy Suburban back in 03 from them and had some mechanical problems that were never fixed right. I had an annoying clunk in my steering column when hitting bumps. They were never able to f had some mechanical problems that were never fixed right. I had an annoying clunk in my steering column when hitting bumps. They were never able to fix them problem and after several repairs told me it was normal operation. I might have believed this but my wife owned an identical 03 Suburban bought from another dealer and it did not have this problem. Kevin Brandford the service manager at the time even had the gaul to hit on my wife and put his hand on her leg when discussing the issue when I was at work during service. We then contacted our attorney and Elco bought the vehicle back for full price. I would steer clear of this shady dealership by all means. More
This dealership is an example of the worst customer service that can be provided by a dealership. They were very friendly until the money changed hands, and then they couldn't have cared less. While I service that can be provided by a dealership. They were very friendly until the money changed hands, and then they couldn't have cared less. While I was signing the paperwork, they informed me they didn't have the title for the car, but it had been sent off for. That's a violation of state law, but I figured a big dealership like this knows what they are doing. They were supposed to detail the car prior to delivery. When it arrived, we found about a trash bag worth of debris in the vehicle and a fiilthly interior. We had to take it back for a re-detail. About two weeks later I call them about the title. A secretary let it out that they never recieved the title when it was traded in, and still didn't have it! I complained that the temporary plate they had given me would run out before I received the title and I wouldn't be able to register the car. In violation of State law, they issued me another temporary license. It took almost TWO MONTHS to recieve the title. When I got the title, I took the vehicle to the emissions station for my mandatory check. The car failed emissions. According to our state law, they cannot sell a car that won't pass emissions. I contacted them about the problem with emissions. Elco told me I had signed a waiver for emissions. I don't remember signing a waiver, and know I never would sign such a thing knowing what it was. I asked for a copy of the waiver to be faxed to me. After multiple requests, still no copy of the waiver. Elco advised me that the emissions failure was my problem, and that they weren't going to work with me at all on it. This has by far, been the worst car buying experience of my life. You hear about things like this from fly-by-night junk dealers, but I wouldn't have dreamed of such poor service from a large dealership. I vow never to send anyone I know to this business, and can only hope to do people the service of letting them know the hazards of Elco Chevrolet. More
I bought a 2000 impala there in august of '03 - It was the only time I have EVER enjoyed purchasing a car. The sales staff was knowledgable, which was unexpected, and their no-haggle price was thousand the only time I have EVER enjoyed purchasing a car. The sales staff was knowledgable, which was unexpected, and their no-haggle price was thousands less than Kelley Blue Book. If every dealership was this way, car salesman wouldn't have the stigma they have. Oh yeah, and the car has been problem free, and the $16 oil changes are very welcome. More
