One of the benefits of purchasing the filter from the dealership is that you are getting genuine factory parts that are warrantied by the manufacturer. While the cost can sometimes be higher than going to the local auto parts place, you also have factory-trained technicians working on your truck and making sure that there aren't any other issues to pursue that you wouldn't get from the auto parts store.
