Servicing your precious Volvo Well, Dyer & Dyer knows what is coming with my review, I have also taken my issue to Volvo USA. Service at Dyer & Dyer has drastically gone downhill i Well, Dyer & Dyer knows what is coming with my review, I have also taken my issue to Volvo USA. Service at Dyer & Dyer has drastically gone downhill in the past few years. Not surprising since it is owned by "big corporation" owners who lack any concern for the consumer. I had a service recall and a check engine light on my 2004 S60R and asked if they could fix and repair this, but I needed a loaner since this is my daily drive. Every person I spoke with (phone jockey and two service "advisers") did their very best to block any opportunity to provide me a loaner, making up several "policies" that would prohibit me from getting this critical part of my service repair. Even after I outlined to "Rick", and he confirmed, that the recall, as indicated by Volvo, would take about 3 hours, and the other issue (which ironically likely correlates specifically to the recall) would take additional time, I was still not allowed to have a loaner. To "Rick's" defense, he said they had no loaners that week, but I did call him back and left a message to let me know when they would have a loaner, but I got no call back (again, the trickle down affect). So, I would strongly advise that you don't use this firm for any servicing of your precious Volvo. Having owned 7 Volvos, and I was "Volvo for Life", I have decided never to use this dealership and buy all my future Volvos from another dealership. I have used this firm for many years with at least 3-4 of my 7 Volvos serviced there, but not any more. Servicing your car is essential to keep it working in tip-top condition, and this dealership will run you all around in order to make in convenient for them. I was told they would prefer I bring in the car on their terms and times, and I would prefer them to better understand the core principles of Custer Satisfaction. I have money in my pocket, it is your job to get that money out, total failure for Dyer & Dyer. No, I would no longer recommend this dealership, and fortunately I am dialed in to all us Volvo geeks and have gone on to tell them how bad Dyer & Dyer has gotten. Bravo Zulu guys, just lost another customer! More

I have always felt that they were above board and, while they are more expensive than independent shops (as are all dealers), I felt that they worked with me to make sure that I got the most for my money be it adding in a quick repair or part for free, telling me to wait on repairing an item, making sure something was covered under a warranty, or even the Classic Car discount. I also trusted the experience and abilities. I have gone through several service managers as all the ones I liked left (hmm, red flag?). I've noticed a decline in the helpfulness over the years, but still trusted them. Last July, before I took my car on a 3,000 mile road trip, I had them look it over completely for anything that could need to be done (knowing they would find things). I spent several thousand dollars knowing that I wanted to be safe and am plan on keeping this car for a long time more. Part of this repair included replacing both front CV axles. As we were on our last couple of days, I began to feel a wobble in my tires at 60-70 mph. Brought the car in and, voila, my right front CV axle had excessive play and needed to be replaced! Of course, it was covered, but It was less than a month old. It was explained off as a bad part. I accepted that. This past month, my transmission started shifting hard. I did some research and brought my car there to see if the computer update some people recommended would work. Plus my check engine light had come on (conveniently for once!). I also asked them to reset my maintenance needed light. I was told update was not needed and I need a new transmission to the tune of $6,000 + tax! Now, I know that is WAY marked up, so I immediately started doing more research as to possible fixes and costs. I was also told that the check engine light indicated that I needed a Faulty Leak Detection pump and EVAP valve and maybe a new gas cap all for the bargain price of $900 +LABOR! I said that I thought that had been replaced by them before, but in my stupor, I forgot to have him verify. (Once home, I found that they had replaced it just over two years ago-too recent in my book, but not under warranty). I left with none of the work done and a $116.00 bill for the diagnostic. Then the check engine light went out. And is still out. I got to thinking and remembered that a few days before it came on, we had forgotten to put the gas cap back on. I know that can cause the light to come on until it resets itself. So, they wanted to charge me over $900 for parts I did not need and did not even ask if I could have possibly left my gas cap off. Now, I'm really suspicious about my transmission AND about the previous Leak Detection pump repair. The car has only 120,000 miles on it. I get that little things will go wrong at that mileage, but THE TRANSMISSION?!! Oh, and to top it all off, they didn't reset the Maintenance Required light. Thank goodness for Google. To sum it up, what was once a reliable and trustworthy dealer shop has become just as money grubbing and dishonest as all the others. No wonder I don't get the survey requests from Volvo anymore.
