My wife and I drove in late one afternoon and were met by Tyler Pritt. He stayed late in order for us to test drive a 2021 Rav4 Hybrid… that we now call ours. I purchased a brand new 4Runner from this dealership a couple of months ago, and I've encountered several issues since then. Just two days after taking it home, something broke in the dashboard, leading t couple of months ago, and I've encountered several issues since then. Just two days after taking it home, something broke in the dashboard, leading to an ongoing rattle. A week later, the sunroof started rattling loudly as well. My vehicle has been in their service department three times already. For reference, here’s what it sounds like on dry pavement: https://youtu.be/3kYXIcO613s. First Visit: The first time I brought it in, they claimed there was a mouse nest and charged me $275. Unfortunately, the sound persisted, and no refund was offered. Second Visit: The second time, they kept the car for a couple of days and returned it to me, stating that everything sounded fine and that the sunroof noise was normal. However, as you can hear in the video linked above, this noise is far from normal. Third Visit: On the third visit, I took the manager on a drive to ensure he heard the noises, which he did, and he assured me they would fix it, saying “mission successful.” They kept the vehicle for a full week. When I got it back, both rattles were still present. They mentioned lubricating the sunroof track and adding insulation to the dashboard. Given the time they took, I had expected a more thorough repair, such as replacing the sunroof. They even consulted Toyota, who apparently said rattles are normal off paved roads. This response seemed dismissive and to dodge the fact that it manifests on roads. While the service manager has been friendly and acknowledged the problem, the overall approach to diagnosing and fixing these issues has been less than serious. It’s concerning that my own research has been more informative than the expertise provided by professional Toyota technicians. Considering the 5th gen 4Runners have been on the market since 2010, I would have expected deeply knowledgeable service. Other Interactions: Sales Department: My experience here was also problematic. After my first choice was sold to someone else, they promised me a 4Runner with additional accessories thrown in for free. However, they lost that vehicle without informing me until I had already moved my money and called to schedule the pickup. I then had to wait two more weeks for a vehicle with fewer accessories, for which they charged full price. Titling: The titling process was mishandled as well. After 35 days, I inquired about the title and was told I would receive it in the mail. Upon another check in at 50 days, they checked, found their mistake, and provided another temporary tag. Accessories Department: They installed aftermarket shocks for me, but the shock boot was improperly installed, causing it to tear off on the first drive. They asked if I wanted to replace the boot or leave it torn and then charged me to replace it. Initially, they blamed the tire for tearing it off, but later admitted it was due to the e-brake line when I showed photos. The young tech’s remark that they had “never seen this before” was concerning. Overall, while there are some genuinely nice and helpful individuals at this dealership, the customer service has been inconsistent. When issues arise, there’s often a lack of ownership and a tendency to deflect responsibility. For the dealership to truly stand behind their vehicles and service, a more earnest and proactive approach is needed. The organization has potential, but as it stands, they seem unable or unwilling to fully support their customers when things go wrong. I will update as the situation progresses. More
My son bought his first vehicle, Toyota Tacoma, with Eric Simon and it was a great buying experience for him. Eric took care of us during the purchase and made sure we were totally satisfied. I would defin Simon and it was a great buying experience for him. Eric took care of us during the purchase and made sure we were totally satisfied. I would definitely buy another vehicle from Durango Motor Company. We did have a few minor issues with the battery, which was causing long starts and dead upon shut off. The service departme4nt was great... they took the truck in immediately corrected the issues and did it all with a smile. Thank you all for the assistance and friendly experience!!! More
I’ve fought in three wars across four continents and then transitioned to sales where I built a practice of more than 300 clients from 0 in under five years. I say that to say that I have a high standard of transitioned to sales where I built a practice of more than 300 clients from 0 in under five years. I say that to say that I have a high standard of both service and salesmanship. After this few short hours with Eric Simin I’d confidently say that I’d go to battle any day with this man in any arena. A family man who’s honest and follows through. Thanks for the new truck at a new time in my life and all you and your teams did. More
