My credit score was over 750 they had me paying over 4600 in interest on a 2015 Ford escape , they were going through some bank that I never heard of , I went to wickstrom Ford, Got a 2015 escape , went tr in interest on a 2015 Ford escape , they were going through some bank that I never heard of , I went to wickstrom Ford, Got a 2015 escape , went trough Ford credit only paying $1400 in interest, on a 20k used car, They are scammers here, I recommend going elsewhere, unless you want to get ripped off. I walked out , when I saw the interest they wanted me to pay, Do your homework before buying from any dealer. More
I contacted Dundee Ford via email and then by phone to be certain that I could take the vehicle for an extended test drive and verify the price. They responded to me with emails verifying the price, and givi certain that I could take the vehicle for an extended test drive and verify the price. They responded to me with emails verifying the price, and giving me a guaranteed price with an expiration date for a cash purchase and asking when I would come in to see the car. We set up a day and time. My father drove me in his vehicle, 63 miles tollway to the dealership to look at a used Ford Transit. The interesting thing is, they have had this 2020 Ford Transit Connect Titanium with only 65 miles on it since September of 2020, that's 6 months, that's a long time to have a used car for sale and not sell it, it's this a "bait and switch" car? The story was "a lady bought it and then her husband wanted a Ford F150 instead, so they traded it in the very next day". I am disabled and my current cars cannot transport my motorized wheelchair, so I am in the market for a car that could. After I was done looking at the Transit, I asked them, out of curiosity, what they would offer me for 2 of my vehicles at home as trade-ins. They gave me their offers on the cars as trade in, although they hadn't seen them because I didn't drive either one to the dealership due to my disability. I am buying a small van that can allow the ramp and my wheelchair to transport it. I took the van home, liked it and decided to purchase it. I contacted my salesman and asked him to verify that I had the correct total, they had asked that we bring a cashiers check to purchase the vehicle. I told the salesman I was not trading any cars or buying any extended warranty, I would just be buying the vehicle in cash. They had added an extra charge of $299 for ETCH, the VIN numbers etched into the glass. This is a known scam, I told them I didn't want ETCH and I was told I had to pay for it because it was already on the car. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the original buyer already pay for that? Anyways, the salesman kept saying "we'll talk about it on Monday when you bring the Transit back from the test drive". I kept saying to him, we can't talk about it on Monday, you requested a cashier check, I need the total. Then I was told that they would NOT sell it for the price advertised unless I gave them my trade in, why, because they were going to make thousands of dollars reselling my trade in. They low baked my cars, as expected. When I got there to give them back the Transit, that I wanted to buy for the price advertised on their Dundee Ford website and here on Cars.com, the General Manager, Mike Medina told me, "we had a deal with the trade-in and I won't make enough money without it". I told him, we didn't have any deal, we talked about the price of extended warrantees and what you would offer as a trade-in, we did not sign any papers or make any oral agreements. The manager said that if I read the fine print, "We can change the price of the car at anytime"!!! I have screenshots of the car and the price for a "cash deal". I have emails directly from Dundee Ford with the price of the car and the doc fees of $303, showing the total, less tax and plate/ title transfers. There was nothing about $299 for ETCH and there was no fine print stating they could change the price of the vehicle anytime they felt like it. I have an unsigned used car sales contract showing the price of the car, and even on the contract they bumped up the price from $26,655 to $26,745. I pointed out our to the finance guy who said, "...if i made a mistake by a few hundred dollars on the price, we can fix that when you come back to purchase it". The day i first went there, they basically held us hostage for over 4 hours. Everytime we asked for a price on a warranty or asked about a price on an extended warranty with a higher deductible or longer coverage or less miles, etc, the finance guy would leave his office for 15 to 20 minutes and come back with answers to half the questions, then leave again to get the answers to the other questions. After I sat in that chair for so many hours, my Dad and I decided to just leave, it was obvious this was just a game, why would the finance guy have to leave to check prices. I went out the side door, I see 3 salesman, the finance guy & the GM outside smoking cigarettes & laughing, so that's were they all kept disappearing to as we sat inside waiting and I was in severe pain. He also told me that Ford blue and gold coverage was only for non-Ford products!?! I called a trusted Ford Dealer that told me that the Ford Certified Used Car Blue and Gold warranty was indeed available for all Ford products and that i should run, he was lying directly to me. I asked for a booklet or printed information on the Ford Extended Service Plan, what i always but when i buy my car, which was usually a Ford, but now, I'm thinking maybe Ford isn't the way to go, if this is the way Ford is represented. I was told that Ford Extended Service Plans are "not good" and that they're are no "booklets or printed information on Ford Extended service plans" however he could not stop talking about The Mechanic Extended service plan he was offering to me for $3,495.00!!! You must be careful and i would suggest you avoid this dealer at all costs!! Take it from me, they wasted over 8 hours of my time, gasoline, tolls and the pain I suffered while I sat there waiting for simple answers, I think their strategy is to literally wear you out, not allow you to leave, even if you have said for the last 2 hours, "I'm really hurting badly, I really need to leave, maybe we should come back another time to test drive the car?" Only to be told, "let me get the price for you, I'll be right back" and the dissappear again for 15 to 20 minutes (time for another smoke break). My second guess, the trade-in that they wanted so badly, I can guess that after they actually saw the trade-in they would have changed the price on the trade-in, in their favor, as well, since they told me they "can change the price of a car anytime they want" per the General Manager Mike Medina. I have filed a complaint with Ford Customer Service, with Cars.com, Cargurus, and I've placed a call to the Illinois States attorney's office. I'm also curious, if I wasnt disabled, would they have treated me the same way? If i wasn't there with my elderly 93 year old Dad who didn't drive well in the dark (and we got there around 2:00pm and it was getting dark when we finally left), would they have pulled this on a younger, not physically disabled couple? Were they taking advantage of my pain and discomfort and my constant asking to please just give me the price and let me leave? I think the owner of this dealership would be made aware although based on the other reviews I've read, this is the way they operate. They may want to change their tactics, with the pandemic, fewer and fewer people are buying cars and with places like CarMax & Carvana, that allow you to return the vehicle for a full refund within 30 days and 7 days, the completion is getting pretty tough out there. I'm guessing "the lady that bought it and traded it in the next day" took a real hit on the trade-in value and wished she bought it from a dealer that offers a full refund period. Update: My apologies to David Zaprel for using his name incorrectly, he just called me to let me know I was mistaken and he had only set up the appointment but the General Manager I dealt with is Mike Medina. I asked David how it is that they have this same car advertised again on line at the same price they refused to sell it to me for but they do not honour the price at its advertised at. He explained that they have to make the money up through financing or a trade-in otherwise they would lose money on this car. BEWARE!! It's listed again at the same price!! More
You guys have to revamp your sales process and get rid of the “swimming sharks” circling me. Seriously it’s the most frustrating thing. I walked in to look at a vehicle and literally three salesmen came up a the “swimming sharks” circling me. Seriously it’s the most frustrating thing. I walked in to look at a vehicle and literally three salesmen came up at that the same time just circling me. Let me look at the car and not just stare at me. Trust me, you’ll never sell a car from harping on someone. So annoying that now I’m going somewhere else just to not have to deal with this. I’ll ask you if I want help. More
