We were shopping for a "new to us" vehicle to replace my 2006 Altima that had been totalled in February. By this time we had been to a few other dealers (some good, some horrible) and I had pretty much decided that I was interested in a Chevy Traverse or Buick Enclave (even though one of your competitors told me I could not afford one). After speaking to my husband I went on line and looked at the used car inventory an there she was....2008 Enclave in Gold Mist. Long story short we drove out, looked at it. I drove it around the parking lot (I was recuperating from knee surgery). I knew when I saw it that I did not need to look any further. Heather has been a pleasure to work with right from the very beginning. She really has made buying this vehicle a "piece of cake". We will definitely be recommending Duke & Heather to our freinds & family. More
We are return cutomers and and overall have had very positive expiriences with Duke. Stan was great,not pushy (Pushy sales people really shut me down!).He is extremely knowlegable about the product and positive expiriences with Duke. This was by far my best car buying experience ever. I knew the vehicle I was interested very well, a white saturn sky redline, 2008 or 2009 model. I had thought about going to car max to see if I could find one in the color I liked and have it shipped to on of the two car max dealers in this area, and had actually went online to try to find one a couple of times. I was on my way back from Starbucks on a Saturday morning and happened to see it sitting on Dukes sales lot, a 2008 white Saturn Sky redline with the tan drop top. As I sat at a red light I almost hesitated because I was like do I really want to waste my entire Saturday playing the kind of games I have often ended up playing with salesman in the past when you go to try to buy a car and I almost didn't pull in because of it. Anyway I figured its the car I have been wanting Ill just pull in and look at it, and see if we can work out a reasonable deal I may end up buying it... if I end up having to play games Ill just leave. At any rate... in short the sales representative Heather was excellent, it was very straight forward from the beginning there were no games where that ask you how much you are going to put down before they give you their asking price, none of the well I gotta go talk to the finance guy and Ill come back and let you know about that... In short the price was reasonable for buying used vehicle backed with a warranty from a reputable dealership and the appraisal on my car was reasonable as well. I turned out to be a great experience and I ended up walking off of the lot with the car I wanted to buy and a deal that was fair. If you are in the market for a vehicle I would recommend you do your research first and just go to their lot first because from my experience I would be willing to say that their offer will be reasonable and they wont play games. In addition to his knowledge of automobiles, his knowledge of computers enables him to provide an overall encompassing wealth of information specific to my case. Finally, I would simply say that Mr. Scott Higbie can be relied on as a man who is honest,and trusworthy. There were no pushy salesmen leaving multiple messages on our phone or daily annoying emails. They answered our questions when we asked and didn't drown us with making an immediate decision. They upheld their "small town goodness" that is so rare in our society today. Everyone in Suffolk, Va should be proud to have Duke Automotive in our city. Their friendliness is tangible when you walk in the door. It was an overall great experience and I sure am one happy gal driving my new Tahoe!!! It is very clear when a family run business treats their employees and customers as family. More

The sales staff at Duke was very helpful in our selection of our new vehicle. We were afforded every opportunity to experience and test drive every SUV that we were considering. Our sales representative Jim, was there to answer any questions that we had, while not being overbearing with sales pressure. (This was certainly a negative point with other dealers that we visited.) The atmosphere at Duke was very friendly and supportive but not overwhelming. We look forward to working the the staff at Duke in the future for our automotive needs. More

Absolutely the best buying experience I have had, and I have purchased over 10 vehicles in the last 8 years for my wife and I. I used Cars.Com to do my shopping around, and after inquiring about a 2003 Yu have purchased over 10 vehicles in the last 8 years for my wife and I. I used Cars.Com to do my shopping around, and after inquiring about a 2003 Yukon, Ricky contacted me. He is the sole reason why I decided to come down to the dealership in Suffolk, even though I had an appt to see another Tahoe at another Hampton Roads dealership. He not only took the time to find out what I wanted, vice trying to sell me what he had, but he also called me back and did a complete walk around of the Yukon over the phone. When I arrived at the dealership, Al was at the front door ready to greet me and had already retrieved the keys to the 2003 Yukon, along with the keys of 3 other GM suv's. After checking it out it was everything that Ricky had explained to me over the phone and I was not disappointed, however my wife was interested in a newer Tahoe, and it was awesome. Al and Ricky worked out all the details, and without any haggling the manager knocked off almost $1200 off the vehicle. Never once was I asked of my "price range" or "monthly payment". I also had a preapproved draft loan from a credit union, and they never once tried to get me to finance with them! A FIRST!! I am active duty military, and never once felt that I was being taken advantage of, which is a common trend in the Hampton Roads area. The only negative thing I can say is that I am an NC State grad and having "Duke" on the back of my car causes a little heartburn sometimes, but a great family, dealership and group of employees to deal with. I would recommend them anyone without reservation. More
