Have had mostly good experiences.. until now.. When we first bought our 2006 Ford Escape last spring (2017) we were rushed through the purchase. It ended up being a huge miscommunication and misunderstanding. We wanted time to think about buying it but they told us there was someone there waiting to buy it (which many places say that!) BUT there actually was a guy in the waiting room.. The free car washes have been great and I try to stop by when I can since it’s a little out of my way. The waiting room is very open and clean and the snacks and gourmet coffee/drinks are a very welcomed and kind gesture NOT seen at other dealerships! Fast forward to our yearly inspection.. I am always hesitant with dealerships and inspections because I feel they are always trying to make an extra buck. However since state inspections are free (nice perk), we decided to give it a try. We dropped the Escape off and about 2 hours later I got a call. Both lower ball joints had “excessive” play, front brake hoses were deteriorated, and one of the rear license plate lights was out. It is a 2006 but couldn’t believe that was all needing done since it’s kept clean, garage kept and we just bought it a year ago. They gave us the mechanics log and also sent the repair estimate via email.. to a tune of nearly $833.35 for the repairs with labor and tax included. We drove it home, replaced the ball joints & brake hoses for under $100. Made an appointment and my husband took it back in. I was at work but I reminded him about the license plate light we had forgotten. He was going to check prices with them or stop at advance auto parts to do it himself. After he waited for about 1.5+ hours they called him up to the desk... You’d think they would just be doing a check of the parts we replaced but I guess they did the entire car again. They tell him about the license plate bulb & he asked how much. It was about $35 total for the bulb and labor.. He said he would just go to advance and get one and come back. They say “and your windshield wipers are streaking, they need replaced”. We were JUST in there over a week ago and haven’t driven the escape and now all of sudden the windshield wipers need replaced? My husband was confused and pulled out the mechanics log to show them what they told us needed replaced. The guy insisted that it was a mistake and that the mechanic said that it needed to be replaced. My husband asked how much and they said $50. He stormed off and went to advance and purchased the bulb and wipers for about $30. He returned to the dealership and had the guy come over to the car to show him the wipers. You had to squint your eyes to see any streaking at all. The guy seemed confused as well but again insisted that the mechanic said they needed replaced. So my husband put on the wipers and said just put the sticker on my car and left. He called me immediately, told me everything and repeatedly said “never again will we go there!” I hope this helps anyone that feels that they HAVE to listen to the demands of a pushy dealership. It is YOUR choice to have the repairs done there. If I was there I would have refused to purchase the windshield wipers since they were NOT on the list be be replaced! What could have changed to make them pass one week but not the next? Especially when the car had NOT been driven! More

Follow up after first buy I bought my subaru forester as my first vehicle that I've ever purchased on my own. When bought it as a subaru certified used the sales rep noticed that at some point of the car being on the lot the car had a swipe on the front bumper and a puncture and ding on the back bumper. The dealer wrote in the agreement to fix the bumpers along with installing my remote start which was great! I dtopped my car off at the dealer and picked up my loner vehicle which saved me the worry of finding a way to work while my car was being serviced on a Monday night close to the end of service hours. After not hearing back from the dealer I called after work on Wednesday afternoon to check on that status of my car since I knew It was to be a quick fix. However when I called they could not locate my name in their system and had no record of my car at the facility. The gentleman I spoke to went to search for my car and found it 20 minites later. When he called he said there were no orders for what was needed for my vehicle so I explained to him over the phone what needed done and I was able to get my car 2 days later. I'm very happy with the work done to my car, but it was disappointing to have my car "lost" and without work orders. I will say that everyone I spoke to was very apologetic about what had happened, but I was still without my forester that I'm loving to show off for a few days and was concerned about what was happening with my car. More
