Great experience at Downtown Hyundai. They gave me just the right amount of attention, but weren't pushy or overbearing. They recognized that each time I was there, I at Downtown Hyundai. They gave me just the right amount of attention, but weren't pushy or overbearing. They recognized that each time I was there, I didn't have a great deal of time, so they were quick and efficient, even in the actual buying/paperwork part of the process. In fact, to save time, we finalized the price over the phone, so Cory could go ahead and get the paperwork going before I arrived. Really good experience, and feel like I got a really fair price on the Santa Fe. More
Failed to Disclose Use of After-Market Parts In April of 2015 while visiting our son we decided to take his 2011 used Hyundai with 38,000 miles in to address a minor recall notice we had received In April of 2015 while visiting our son we decided to take his 2011 used Hyundai with 38,000 miles in to address a minor recall notice we had received, and get an alignment. Not knowing the area, we looked for the closest Hyundai Repair, which was Downtown Nashville. It should be noted that the Service Dept. number was not even listed on their website. I had to search through the Yellow Pages to find it. After about an hour of checking out my car--the supposed "FREE" inspection--the service specialist brought me a lengthy list of items that the technicians found needed attention; most worrisome being new front and rear brakes/rotors ($460), and a new drive belt ($180). He highly recommend we also get a transmission flush ($220), brake flush ($160), tire rotation and balance ($60) and alignment ($90). They threw in a $60 cabin air filter replacement. Since this was a Friday, I know nothing about cars, and we were leaving Nashville on Monday, this lengthy list of items, several deemed by them to be urgent, concerned me, as I didn't want to leave my son in a dangerous car. But I did query the specialist as to how a car we had bought from a reputable dealer, a car that was Certified Used and presumably in prime condition, could need $1,200 worth of work after having only put 14,000 miles on it. He explained that the brakes could have just barely passed the grade, ditto with the belt. Being new to the area, Not knowing any other options, I told them to go ahead and four hours later paid the $1200+ bill. -After the weekend I called the service specialist to ask him a question about something on the bill. He never returned my call. -Three days later I called the “Make it Right” number on the invoice and I left a voice message because no one picked up. No one ever returned my call. -About 10 days later, having serious misgivings about our recent experience at this Hyundai dealer, I called the salesman who originally sold us the car for some guidance. He told me that there is no way that the car we bought from him needed brakes or a belt. He told me they pride themselves on their certified cars, inspect and service them properly, and he was shocked at what the Nashville dealer told us. (and their reputation is supported in reviews). My husband then met with the service mgr where we had bought the car, who reviewed the invoice we had gotten from the Nashville place. He pointed out several items of note: The Downtown Nashville Hyundai dealer/repair: —-Used an AFTER MARKET TRANSMISSION FLUID that he said would NOT be covered under the Hyundai warranty that we have because the warranty specifies Hyundai transmission fluid be used. — ALL THE PARTS THAT WE WERE SOLD AT VERY HIGH PRICES WERE AFTER-MARKET PARTS: Brake pads, drive belts, filters, everything on the list. NOTHING was a Hyundai part. More importantly, WE WERE NEVER TOLD THAT THEY WERE AFTER MARKET PARTS. Now, why would a Hyundai dealer, who supposedly prides himself on his cars and parts, use after-market parts on our car? MORE worrisome and deceptive, why didn’t they ask me if I wanted Hyundai or after-market parts, and not disclose this to us that after market parts were being used? And, if they were out of Hyundai parts, shouldn't they have disclosed to us that they were installing after market parts? I called and spoke with the manager at the Nashville Hyundai. I asked him why they used after market parts and he said the after market parts exceeded Hyundai’s in quality! And he justified their prices by saying they were in a high rent area of Nashville. He justified the transmission fluid exchange at 38,000 miles instead of what is recommended in the book (over 60,000) because he said it doesn’t make any sense to just add new transmission fluid to old transmission fluid. I told him my concerns about the after-market transmission fluid not being covered under warranty and he defended that by saying that what they used is BETTER than Hyundai transmission fluid! When I asked him what the CEO of Hyundai would say if I asked him if our existing Hyundai warranty would cover us if anything happened to the transmission, he said he would say a bunch of legal gobbledygook and that probably no, Hyundai wouldn’t cover it but that the transmission oil company warranties the transmission up to $4000 for replacement. But when both my husband and I told him we didn't want to have to go through a third party if anything went wrong and that we wanted written insurance that their transmission work would be covered under the 100,000 mile/10 year warranty that comes on transmissions with Certified Pre-Owned Hyundai purchases such as the one we have, he said he would write something up to that effect and email to my husband. But he never did. My husband has made several follow up calls to him and not a one was ever returned. At this point, having been duped by the dealership, I turned to the CEO of Hyundai America, who immediately responded to our issues, put a fantastic expert on our case, who was exceedingly professional and kind throughout the investigation, and made everything right with our car, at the Cold Springs Hyundai about 20 miles away, where they were as courteous, professional and as helpful as Nashville Hyundai had been unscrupulous and unresponsive. The postlude is that after the investigation, the investigator recommended that the Downtown Nashville general manager give us a call, but of course, he never did. And by the way, I learned a very valuable lesson and from now on I will always get a second opinion and a recommendation. More

I was made to feel welcome and important, even though my budget for a new car was not extravagant. The salesperson who greeted me, Rahim Ashari, was very professional, thorough in all aspects of the car-buying process, and continues to follow-up with me to make sure that I have no questions or issues about my new Elantra. I have felt like I was the most important customer they have through the process and I will recommend the dealership, in general, and Mr. Ashari, in particular, to all. More

He made the car buying experience very pleasant, which is not something I can normally say. Even the financing portion of the deal went smoothly. We LOVE our new car, and highly recommend this dealership! More
