I thought buying a new car would be fun, but instead drove home both frustrated and stressed out after visiting other establishments. I found Dover Honda on the web and the telephone sales portion of it was amazing. The quick call back and competitive pricing by Joan sealed the deal for us. Thank you, Joan! When we went into the Dover Honda location, it was very relaxed. We were not pounced on in the parking lot, which was a nice change. Dan Phelan was both professional and warm. He did not pressure us at all and we felt that everything was very fair, from the price of our new Pilot to the trade-in value on my previous car. Speaking of price, we were amazed at the deal we got! We didn't feel the need to dicker over any dollar amounts and this made our entire experience stress-free and FUN. They know exactly what they are doing at this establishment. From start to finish, every employee was wonderful, friendly and low-key. I would go back to this dealership in a heartbeat. I would refer anyone here! After using a GMC dealer in Portsmouth for the last 3 years, we could have easily bought another GMC but we have been very displeased with the level of service and dishonesty. We truly felt they were looking out for themselves and told us whatever was convenient at that moment. Thankfully we shopped around and found a great deal and a great group of people. On Friday March 7, 2014 I drove from my Connecticut winter residence on a mission to the New Hampshire/Maine area to trade in my wife's 2007 Honda CRV-EXL for a new 2014 Honda CRV-EXL model (we have a winter residence on a mission to the New Hampshire/Maine area to trade in my wife's 2007 Honda CRV-EXL for a new 2014 Honda CRV-EXL model (we have a summer residence in southern Maine thus my interest in Honda dealerships in that area in addition to our Connecticut dealers). My mission was to stop first at the Dover Honda location for my 9:00a.m. appointment and then continue on to the Honda dealers in both Saco and S. Portland, Maine and then return to Connecticut with, in my judgment, the best possible deal in a new Honda CRV. My trip never took me any further north than the Dover Honda location. I met with Sales Consultant, Susan Garland who provided me with OUTSTANDING SERVICE. We negotiated what, in my judgment, was a fair value price for both my 2007 trade-in and the new Honda CRV. In addition, her "yes we can" customer service attitude convinced me to go no further North than the Dover Honda dealership. With her "yes we can" have your new car serviced and ready to drive home to Connecticut the SAME DAY in addition to working with todays technology of completing all of my Connecticut Credit Union paperwork, insurance coverage paperwork, and State of Maine paperwork via fax, computer, and telephone, I drove out of Dover Honda with my new car being an EXTREMELY PLEASED CUSTOMER. I am turning 79 years of age soon and have always bought new vehicles and have dealt with many dealerships in Connecticut, Maine, and New Hampshire. Without a doubt, my experience in dealing with the Dover Honda staff (Susan, Nancy, and Brian), especially Susan Garland, was EXCEPTIONAL and the very best I have had in my 62 years driving experience. I most certainly will recommend Dover Honda to my friends and neighbors for their "can do" attitude, reasonable pricing, and customer friendly service. I was prepared to go to another dealership to buy this model, but Sue helped me secure a deal that was more than acceptable to me and made me feel that she really wanted to earn my business. Sue was extremely knowledgeable about her product, honest and forthright, and she gave me great service. I showed up early to pick up my car and she got it ready in a hurry. The sales staff was excellent and never pressured us in the four times we stopped by prior to purchasing.
