I purchased my Dodge in a completely different state same as my wife has with her vehicle of another make, many states over for both of us at big reputable dealerships. Reason being was that the prices in Alabama were so much higher and much to my surprise, Dothan was one of the highest priced areas. Trust me I looked for over 6 months before deciding and not settling for what was local as I was looking for specific accessories and body styles as did my wife. Even today as I checked, Dothan Dodge has 1 vehicle in almost the same build as mine and way higher than locations in the state and nationally. We have purchased over 8 vehicles in the last 15 years and all have been from out of state considering ALL available incentives across the country. The states purchased from were Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Texas. This wasn't personal to Dothan Dodge as we checked every dealership throughout the country and purchased from 5 different manufacturers as Dothan was high across all Dealerships brands. Maybe this is where the disconnect is in this whole fiasco as I got my Dodge serviced here in Dothan but purchased elsewhere as I was not deemed a loyal customer by Dothan Dodge per the Dodge corporation representative I spoke to about warranty issues. Why, as I have had my vehicle serviced, recalls done, and work performed there more times than I can count on 2 hands in the last few years. I believe it to be due to my first incident with the dealerships service department. The first time happened when I came in for service one day and was told I needed to make an appointment to get my vehicle serviced and checked over. I did exactly that and took my vehicle in as scheduled. Days later I called because I have not heard anything and was told they haven't gotten to it yet and were trying to work it in between appointments. I was upset to say the least because I couldn't get service the day I came in, not even to work it in between appointments and I am being told this is what they are trying to do now. I picked up the vehicle but not before they got a piece of my mind and I attempted to talk with the owner by phone to no avail but spoke in depth with the manager. I will add that this EXACT same situation with appointments happened at the Dothan Volkswagen dealership on a different vehicle and they also got a piece of my mind. What is it about Dothan I ask. I believe it to be because these were warranty issues and diagnostics, therefore this was not a money maker for the dealerships and was very low on the priority list despite a specific appointment. This last incident at Dothan Dodge happened not long ago and now I am going to speak about it but because apparently they have more loyal customers than I and don't care for my business as I do not make them enough money. My vehicle is newer and I have had several issues with it and brought it in to get seen about before the warranty expired. This vehicle is garage kept and very well taken care of to say the least. The issues I have still exist even today after 2 years of getting them seen about and repeatedly fixed to Dodges acceptable specification range. One issue was addressed one day when I stopped by the service department before my warranty was up. I specifically addressed getting it seen about and fixed before the warranty expired as this was part of my conversation as I was very concerned. I was TOLD at the service department they have never seen this issue and would have to research it and get back with me to bring it in. In the meantime I continued to drive it waiting on a response and my warranty expired within a few months. I am within a few thousand miles over the warranty as we had to drive to Michigan and back due to family deaths several times. I brought it in as the same warranty issues before had presented themselves again and I asked about this particular issue as they hadn't gotten back with me on it, all was documented by the new service guy along with the other issues and appointment made, work was performed on the day scheduled and when it was picked up I was given a quote on what it would be to fix the issue I had brought it in for before the warranty was up. I questioned them about this and they said because it was not documented in their system by the service person the day I brought it in that there was nothing they could do as the warranty expired and gave me the number to Dodge to see if they would help as it was only a few thousand miles over the warranty now. So I did just that and called Dodge and the representative told me because it wasn't documented they couldn't do anything. I continued to insist and questioned what was in their records on work at the dealership. Most all receipts I had in hand were not documented to Dodge but the representative called Dothan Dodge because they said sometimes dealerships records showed things they could not see on their computer and to see if they would make a courtesy gesture on this situation. The Dodge representative came back and reluctantly told me that they did not extend this courtesy offer while I was there because I was not a loyal customer, therefore it didn't warrant an escalation to the higher ups at Dodge per representative and nothing could be done except I pay the price they quoted. So I learn a valuable lesson that every Dodge owner needs to know on warranty issues. If it is not documented when you discuss it with them it doesn't count. So if you discuss it before you make an appointment and you do not see them logging it on their computer screen it never happened. I suppose you as the customer are suppose to know this and ask for a copy of the work up despite not having an appointment at that time because they needed to research it first. The dealerships know this. The service manager calls me by name from seeing my face but I am suppose to trust them and their word but I am NOT a loyal customer. The paperwork you receive is not the same exactly as the paperwork they keep at the dealership. There are 2 different copies and you only sign one and get one. One is more detailed than the other. Warranty work doesn't make them money as regular service work and not immediately reimbursed either as the dealership have to wait on the manufacturer just the same as when you purchase a car it is quarterly that the dealerships receive their kickbacks from the manufacturer and exactly why the down payment exists as it is an immediate payment but is certainly not mandatory. Unless dealerships have strong financial backing I imagine it is a struggle to have to wait on your money. If this is the case I suggest going into another business especially if your customers don't matter when it comes to warranty issues. Lastly if a manufacturer is in the same boat as the dealership then maybe the whole business model needs to be addressed from the top down to the dealerships. I don't know if this is unique to Dothan as the exact same thing happened at Volkswagen about the appointment. I have had several auto body shops in Dothan quote things that were not the issues and at extremely high prices. Walmart is gouging like crazy and especially their name brand products here in Dothan. What is going on. It is like the businesses here are walking a thin red line. We are in the South, poorer states with less family income and this area is getting hit harder than most in the state of Alabama. I have researched it on all levels, Why is Great Value milk here 3.99 a gallon or more and in other states it is 1.49, 1.99, 1.89. Why is it even so much higher than other areas of Alabama. Look at eggs. Is there a lack of cows and chickens in Alabama. Research all the staples of food and you will see exactly what I am saying. Look at how many suppliers are right here around Dothan. I had a Burger King in Dothan and a Wendy's tell me they were out of hamburgers, Taco Bell tell me they were out of drinks despite there being many other locations on all of them within Dothan to get product from. Dothan people deserve better than this but until it is in the public's eye most will never know to make informed decisions. And when you have the main TV/Newspaper organization that refuses to report on these issues then people are suppressed, not loyal to the brand. All we have left is our freedom of speech because those in power refuse to listen or care and use their voice to suppress you. Or you can open your wallet and hire an attorney to address it in court which is where I am at now with Dodge or simply go somewhere else but why should citizens of Dothan have to do that. Why should we have to be inconvenienced to drive to another location. Why should we have to pay more or have subpar service. Greed and dishonesty will be your downfall as it takes precedent over customer relations. We the average people will be your downfall. More

Terrific purchasing experience! We live in north Georgia and were in town for the arrival of our grandchild so purchasing a vehicle was not really in our plans. Truly, we were just We live in north Georgia and were in town for the arrival of our grandchild so purchasing a vehicle was not really in our plans. Truly, we were just shopping, comparing vehicles (actually we were nearly set on purchasing an F-150). My husband and I had visited other dealerships in Ozark and Dothan, leaving all of them disappointed as none of them had the inventory that we were interested in. Dothan Chrysler Dodge was our last stop. The first person to greet us was Jason Reilly and he saved the day, no exaggeration. We already owned a Dodge Longhorn Dually but needed to downsize to accommodate a recent move and were looking for a specific truck. Jason not only showed us exactly what we were searching for, he had the knowledge to answer all of our questions without skipping a beat. We left (which goes against the cardinal rules of selling) told Jason we were going to the Ford dealership to compare the F-150, and returned in less than an hour. The energy that Jason and your dealership exude sold us on the Dodge. We’ve already owned both a Ford and a Dodge, so either was fine with us...truly, Jason sealed the deal. He and your dealership, have excellent energy. Exactly what we needed and were looking for! Every person we dealt with and were introduced to, was top notch. Interestingly enough, the air conditioning in the dealership was broken that day. The Clifton Johnson and Bill Cox expedited the paperwork so efficiently, we were barely uncomfortable. I’m sure at another dealership, we would’ve walked out. I asked for an orientation on the truck after our purchase and Brad Philpot did an outstanding job. The bottom line? My husband and I have purchased many vehicles over the years and we’re not easily impressed. Your dealership and staff blew us away. Thank you! More
