Just wanted to provide an update to a couple of the items above. One of my calls was routed to a guy named Moses at Doral Volkswagen who has been quite helpful. He got the $168 check released to reimburse me for programming the key. He also told me they use a 3rd party in Florida to process titles, and that company sent my title to Texas. Moses gave me a tracking number and address which I googled and came across a phone number. I called and found that the company in Texas is another 3rd party who sent the title to the TX DMV so my car can be registered. They expect to have the title and plates back by Oct 4 and will then send everything back to Doral VW in Miami. Doral VW will then (hopefully) send my title to the lender and the plates to me. I bought the car July 29, and it's looking like I'll have my plates mid Oct. Moses also told me that Doral VW sent my CPO paperwork to Volkswagen to be certified when I bought the car. Luckily, I paid my down payment via credit card, and when the dealer couldn't provide any proof or documentation showing my car is CPO, I disputed that portion of the charge. I was told when Visa informed them of the dispute, they pulled the CPO paperwork back from Volkswagen, and they cannot resubmit it. Last week, I called 3 different Volkswagen dealers - 2 in Houston and one in Miami - to corroborate their story. I asked if I can buy a CPO 2022 Atlas. All three told me NO. Any 2022 Atlas that is sold after the recall is issued (which was June 26) and before VW releases a fix (which still hasn't happened) CANNOT be CPO. I asked if they can do all the necessary inspections and then submit the paperwork for CPO after VW releases a fix for the recall. All 3 said no. The CPO designation happens at the time of sale or not at all. So Doral VW's story of submitting the paperwork when I bought the car was a lie. Until VW releases a fix for the recall, they CANNOT certify any Atlas affected by that recall. To reference Rolando's auto-reply to a negative review, I still have not received a reply to any of my emails. I've also called the dealer multiple times and asked to speak to Rolando. I'm either told that I can't be transferred directly to Rolando, or I'm transferred to a voicemail where no one returns my call. However, I've called several times posing as a customer wanting a new car. Each time, I get one or more call backs within a few hours. But when I explain that I already purchased a car and I'd like to speak to Rolando or Farhat or Kelvin or Jose, I'm transferred to the voicemail again, and no one calls back.
