Worst experience purchasing a vehicle in my life!! I went online to Doral Hyundai and inquired about a few cars listed. Dealer Philip Perez called me in response to my request and he asked me to come I went online to Doral Hyundai and inquired about a few cars listed. Dealer Philip Perez called me in response to my request and he asked me to come in to the dealership on 1/21/17. I was at the dealership 6+ hours. With the help of the Manager I was approved for a red Azera. At this point it was after 8pm (on a Saturday) and the financing department had left for the night so Philip had me sign over my registration, and sign for my co-signer (My Mother) (we could have had her come in easily but he didn't want to wait) and he helped me transfer all of my stuff out of the old car and into the new car. Philip himself transferred my plates from the Sonata to my new Azera. On Monday I went into the dealership to get the floor mats and informed Phil that Hyundai continued to call me about my old car (the payment was at that point 25 days late) and asked him to please process the trade in quickly. Of course I got busy and it wasn't until a week later did I get a chance to text Philip and ask him again to please talk to financing about processing my lease/trade in because Hyundai was calling me several times a day about my old loan. In the meantime I had gathered up $1,500 for the deposit on my new vehicle. I made several attempts to reach Phil, all of which I have printed and have kept for review if needed, because I did want to sign paperwork and make it official. Philip kept saying the financing department was "swamped". Three weeks after I first drove away with my car, Philip called and said " you have not been approved. When can you bring the car back?", when I questioned him as to why I was now not approved (which I believe is absolutely my right as a consumer to know why my acceptance would change 3 weeks later) Now in my frustration I also pointed out just a day earlier had tints put on the car (for light sensitivity) and Phil responded "you can keep the tints but we need the car back now". I told him I needed to speak with someone about this... I was confused and side swiped by this information. I had received a congratulations on your new car email from Hyundai, the registration was in my name, I changed my work, insurance and residential parking information for this car, I showed my new car to my children and coworkers- I thought this WAS my car for a whole month!! He said I could come in and speak with the GM. Three days later I went into the dealership to resolve this and waited at the front desk for help, finally a Floor Manager assisted us.He seemed overwhelmed with the situation (and my folder of printed proof) and said multiple times this was above his pay grade. He handed us Pedro Casal (GM) business card and said the GM Pedro will be calling me tomorrow between 12 and 3. Pedro never called on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (I called him and left a VM), Thursday or Friday. On Friday I received a text from dealer Philip Perez saying he was waiting all week for me to return the car. I texted back and said not to speak to me like that, I had been in to the dealership and had been waiting all week to speak to the GM. At that moment I called and left a VM for Pedro Casal saying I needed to speak with someone immediately to resolve this issue. Pedro had not, nor any other members of the management team, made any attempt to contact me!!!!!!! On Monday afternoon (presidents day), as I was leaving my office, a Range Rover parked in front of my car and refused to move. The woman stated she was with the repossession company and the detective was on the way to repossess the vehicle. We showed her the folder of text messages, calls and proof that we had to try and resolve this matter and the detective said he can see our side but the car had been reported stolen. I followed the Detective to the dealership- at this point livid, embarrassed by what just happened in front of my workplace and fed up with the lack of integrity in your dealership and demanded to see my car. When they brought it out I had to check the vin number to see if it was my car because my tints (for light sensitivity) were stripped. Pedro came out in an effort to calm me and my girlfriend.I showed him the text messages to Philip and reminded him of our numerous calls to HIM (which suddenly he has recollection of just was too "busy" to listen to the messages). I told him about the floor manager's promise of a call last week and he responded "he's not even a manager". At a certain point Pedro did seem to connect the dots and started to try to resolve the situation. He agreed to put tints back on my old car (although I still take the loss on the tints on the new car I had put on) and walked me to the tinting area to make the appointment for the following day. We shared with him- and showed him that Philip had highlighted answers on the customer satisfaction survey and told us to answer only this way or I'd be "messing with his money" and everything was good unless we "messed with his money". Pedro informed me that he is aware his Finance manager (Juan) DID NOT call me like his job requires him to do and that Philip and that manager would have to split the giant loss the dealership took on this car. I write this letter knowing that the situation is "resolved", they have their car back and so do I but I still am uneasy about their business practices and wanted to make other consumers aware so they don't follow into a similar trap (and suffer the stress, financial loss and inconvenience) that I did with Doral Hyndai.
