This week I worked with Conor Kuhnau to buy a used Subaru. Going in I was a bit nervous as this was my first experience buying a car at a dealership, but Conor went above and beyond to make this a mem Subaru. Blaine and Rory were unbelievably helpful with helping me to get a replacement for my last car. Great experience dealing with David, Conor, and Daleena. Short version: The team at Don Miller Subaru East was able to get me a good deal, was respectful of my time, and didn't try to push a bunch of op Short version: The team at Don Miller Subaru East was able to get me a good deal, was respectful of my time, and didn't try to push a bunch of options of me that I wasn't interested in which is pretty much everything I want when buying a car. Long version: I was in the market after having a car totaled and started looking via TrueCar (would not recommend) as it was supported by my bank which put me in touch with about a dozen dealers across four states. Of those dealers there were about two that respected my time by not calling/emailing/texting daily in the hopes of a sale, one of which was this team. I'd initially settled for another Outback that was in a color I didn't prefer and missing some of the things I wanted but was on hold because of the "stop sale" for the SOS button in the 2023. David happened to reach out and I saw they had one coming in and was able to confirm it wasn't affected. From his initial email I had a quote with ~$400 more in features and ~$200 less total than the other Outback I'd been looking at within about an hour. Initial paperwork was also great as I was able to get it done remotely with David and Daleena ( I live several hours away) and any questions I had I was usually getting responses inside of an hour if not faster. For the appointment to actually get the car I ended up ~30 min early and Conor was able to get everything going regardless and give a good tour of the car's features without the over-explanation of basic car things you sometimes get from a dealer. Both Daleena and Conor let me know of some of the options Subaru has available and their cost and then left it at that instead of going for the upsell, which is always appreciated. One thing that was especially nice on that front is for various warranty add-ons Subaru has they were given with how they would affect the monthly payments, something that with previous car purchases I was given only the total dollar amount of the warranty and found out the per month cost later. All in all it was a great purchasing experience where everyone was friendly and prompt (without being overbearing) in a time where finding a new car, let alone the exact one you want, has become somewhat of a hassle.
